SCP-XXXX in flight

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX's location is to be visually monitored constantly, and changes in "usual" behavior or complete disappearance should be reported to research supervisor ██████ immediately. Assessments of SCP-XXXX's body language and overall health are to be taken by foundation zoologists bi-monthly.

Due to the fact that SCP-XXXX poses no seeable threat to life on earth, as well as it's mostly inaccessible location, a full containment effort is currently seen as unnecessary.

Description: SCP-XXXX is an avian organism whose appearance is consistent with that of a normal pigeon. SCP-XXXX is usually seen traveling through the rings of Saturn, a feat which is realistically impossible. SCP-XXXX travels with exact speed and muscular movements with its earthly counterparts, despite a lack of suitable flight environments.

SCP-XXXX's dietary habits are either nonexistent or autotrophic, with the latter being highly likely.

Occasionally, SCP-XXXX will appear startled and focus its sight in one direction for a period of several seconds. The cause of this behavior is questionable, but it is presumed that normal cosmic activity is largely responsible. Further investigation will resume if necessary.

SCP-XXXX was first spotted during a satellite inspection of Saturn's rings. Initially, SCP-XXXX's presence was mistaken for a prank, or a digital error, however foundation investigation of the aforementioned area confirms an organic lifeform moving at anomalous speeds. It is currently unknown whether SCP-XXXX is a singular anomaly or a member of a larger group or species.

Investigations are currently underway to determine how SCP-XXXX is able to perform normal respiratory actions.

Ammendum 01/08/2015: After increased surveillance of SCP-XXXX's habitat, foundation zoologists and astronomers have deduced that SCP-XXXX is a singular organism, as no other example has been observed.
