.amarKnoV; SCP-123 1/4 "The 'Face' Of LA"

Class: Euclid Keter

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-123 1/4 is to be contained in a 3x4 meter cell, with a small coffee table, armrest recliner, and a TV with static. A radio must be placed upon the coffee table. Coffee must be periodically replaced every 36 hours. "Papers" can be moved to force the object into other parts of the room; disallow any attempt at contact or visual contact. Dr. James Bright is not allowed in the cell, or to monitor the cell, at any time, no matter how many times Dr. Rights asks nicely.

Description: In almost every description of the SCP-123 1/4, the object's attributes will vary, sometimes greatly. However, the object's basic appearance and traits are relatively consistent across different accounts. The object's appearance has changed over the years, but the most common image – and the most well known in contemporary media – is that of an abnormally tall humanoid with long arms and a lack of facial traits. The object is usually wearing a business suit, which may be either real cloth, or some form of skin molded to take on the appearance of cloth. If the former, this would imply an intelligent being attempting to try to blend in. If it is the latter, it suggests an extremely adaptive being that evolves to match its environment.
The object behaves in what might be seen as a passive-aggressive manner, often stalking targets for years at a time before ever attacking. It’s understood that the object tends to torture its targets mentally, over long periods of time, using fear and paranoia to drive them to insanity. No one has ever satisfactorily explained the reasoning behind his tactics or the way the object chooses its victims, and its purposes and/or motivations have yet to be fully ascertained. It is uncertain if he is a social creature, understands human languages or behaviors, or even why humans appear to be his primary targets. Often, the SCP's appearance will interfere with electronic devices. Sometimes an individual can determine if the object is near simply by how certain electronics act. The object is also "connected" to a multitude of "pages"; that usually trap it in any area. Untrained subjects in the area capacity of SCP-123 1/4 will hear a static sound, a well as multiple fear reflexes being triggered. Trained subjects, A-class members with SCP-handling training, and O5 officers with said training will hear the popular Panic! At the Disco song; "LA Devotee." The lyrics are presented here:

You got two black eyes from loving too hard
And a black car that matches your blackest soul
I wouldn't change ya, oh oh
Wouldn't ever try to make you leave, no
The neon coast was your sign
And the Midwest wind with Pisces rising
Wouldn't change ya, oh oh
Wouldn't ever try to make you leave, no

Static palms melt your vibe
Midnight whisperings

The black magic of Mulholland Drive
Swimming pools under desert skies
Drinking white wine in the blushing light
Just another LA Devotee
Sunsets on the evil eye
Invisible to the Hollywood shrine
Always on the hunt for a little more time
Just another LA Devotee
Just another, just another, uh oh
Just another, just another, uh oh
Just another, just another, uh oh
Just another LA Devotee

You got bleached out eyes from the valley sand
And the black tar palms keep weeping your name
I couldn't change ya, oh oh
Couldn't ever try to make you see, no
The high rise lights read your rights
And a downtown storm with Aries rising
Couldn't change ya, oh oh
Couldn't ever try to make you see, no

Static palms melt your vibe
Midnight whisperings

The black magic of Mulholland Drive
Swimming pools under desert skies
Drinking white wine in the blushing light
Just another LA Devotee
Sunsets on the evil eye
Invisible to the Hollywood shrine
Always on the hunt for a little more time
Just another LA Devotee
Just another, just another, uh oh
Just another, just another, uh oh
Just another, just another, uh oh
Just another LA Devotee

LA Devotee
LA Devotee
LA Devotee
LA Devotee

The black magic of Mulholland Drive
Swimming pools under desert skies
Drinking white wine in the blushing light
Just another LA Devotee
Sunsets on the evil eye
Invisible to the Hollywood shrine
Always on the hunt for a little more time
Just another LA Devotee
Just another, just another, uh oh
Just another, just another, uh oh
Just another, just another, uh oh
Just another LA Devotee

The meaning of the usage of the song is unknown. Nor, is the reason only certain individuals can hear the song; while others hear static.
Despite attempts of interference by the Foundation, knowledge of SCP-123 1/4 leaked to the general public. However, a cover was quickly created; with the "Slender Man" being born from it. However, two casualties were dealt, as SCP-123 1/4 escaped temporarily and convinced two females to "sacrifice" to it. The object's true intentions were unknown in that scenario. SCP-123 1/4 has not escaped since, though has attempted to mess with Object Class: Radio in order to manipulate Foundation members to let it escape.

Addendum (1): Permission to reclassify from "Euclid" to "Keter".

Granted.

Experiment Log
  • Experiment 1, Date; [DATA EXPUNGED]: D-class female, male and pre-adolescent placed within chamber. Dr. [REDACTED] instructs them not to make sound or move in front of SCP-123 1/4. All comply. They moved silently towards pinpointed location of one of the "papers". Dr. [REDACTED] congratulates them. D-classes celebrate quietly. D-class female takes "paper".

SCP-123 1/4 "statics" the cameras in the cell. Screaming is heard. Camera is un-"static"ed. Bodies of D-classes are spread about.

  • Experiment 2, Date; [DATA EXPUNGED]: A-class female and B-class male placed inside SCP-123 1/4 cell. Instructed to move silently, and collect "papers". A-class female bumps into talbe whilst moving. B-class hides quickly. A-class screams, but disappears from video feed. Blood is splattered on the wall, with some in SCP-123 1/4's coffee. SCP-123 1/4 drinks coffee as B-class collects "paper". B-class is instructed to get second "paper". Video feed cuts.
  • Experiment 3, Date; Oct. 24, [REDACTED]: O5 officer placed inside cell. Video cuts immediately.
  • Experiment 4, Date; Oct. 24, [REDACTED]: A-class, B-class, D-class, and O5 officer males placed within cell. Instructed to move silently and collect first "paper". All comply. "Paper" successfully collected. With instruction, the group moves onto second paper. SCP-123 1/4 flinches, but continues watching the static and drinking coffee. Collection of second "paper" successful. The group is instructed to move and collect third "paper". O5 officer complains about a song in his head; which he does not recall hearing before. Dr. [REDACTED] instructs the group to return the "papers" to original positions and leave the chamber. Feed cuts out for 30 seconds. Majority of group deceased. Dr. Bright wrestling SCP-123 1/4. D-class escapes. O5 officers separate SCP-123 1/4 and Dr. Bright; SCP-123 1/4 is secured.

End of log.

Addendum (2): Permission to disallow further experiments. Request by Dr. Gears, Dr. Vang, and Dr. [REDACTED].
