Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid?
Special Containment Procedures: Constant Surveillance is to be maintained in a 2.5 Square Mile Radius around ██° ██′ █″ N, ██° 3█′ 0″ E. Non-Foundation Vessels are not permitted to deploy Diving Teams or Powered Equipment that could be noticed by instances of SCP-XXXX-01, and instead to be hailed and guided away under guise of a Research Team conducting Research which cannot be disturbed.
Non-Foundation Vessels that break the above protocol are to be disabled temporarily, interrogated for intention, injected with Class-C Amnestics and sent on their way to their original destination.
Any Testing Vessels or Powered Equipment are not to pass the XXX Meter Depth without approval for testing by the Site Director or Two Level 4 Personnel. Any vessels sent past this line are to have a Black Box installed for preservation of Data, with attached buoyancy device for ease of retrieval.
Cover-up of the initial discovery is to be disguised as the Kursk Submarine Disaster.
Description: SCP-XXXX is an anomalous area of the Barents Sea-Arctic Ocean Border which is guarded by instances of SCP-XXXX-01.
SCP-XXXX-01 refers to an Octopus-like Creature, sporting the 8 webbed tentacles, however in place of the octopus head, a humanoid torso takes it's place, with two humanoid arms. The hands are more enlarged than that of a human, instead sporting much more webbed graspers. The entity also possesses unnaturally bright eyes, not unlike floodlights. For a full autopsy report, see file SCP-XXXX-06.
SCP-XXXX-01 display a curious tendency towards incoming vessels descending past roughly XXX meters. Instances will attempt to vocalize towards the vessels, and peer through any windows. Any further movement past XXX Meters1 will cause the SCP-XXXX-01 Instances to attack via [REDACTED].

Good day to you all. The moment you finish this, and glaze over it again, delete this E-Mail and then clear your trash folder. Do not reveal any of the information below to anyone below the Level 3s.
I'm sure at least half of you have wondered why we need a site this big just to study some strange animals we have found under the sea. The answer is of course, there's more to it than what's in the base article and autopsy reports.
It was strange at first. Our submarines would lose contact with us and barely a few minutes after, entering the SCP-XXXX Area, the Auto-Buoyancy system would activate and send it back up. They came back up nearly unscratched, but the crews were completely missing, and any electronic back-ups would come back blank past the second depth rung.
I have a hunch. After our current test, prepare this:
- 1 Submarine fit with a Remote Piloting Link. Remove the System with link from the Site Network(theres nothing to suggest they'd effect it, but healthy paranoia and all that).
- 10 D-Class Personnel, fit with different types of Transponders which can survive in all sorts of different extreme environments.
- Give all D-Class something Waterproof and Non-Electronic to write their experience on.
- 1 Unmanned Surveillance Drone which follows at a distance of 75? meters to watch what happens from afar.
If anyone has ideas or concerns, please set up with a meeting with me personally. Refer to this project as (I need ideas for this)
Exploration Log XXXX-08: Project XXXX was conducted at 14:33 on 07/30/2017.
This is a written record from D-3134, a 34 year old Caucasian Male who has a history of reading Murder Mystery novels and attempting to act them out in real life. D-3134 has been highly cooperative since incarceration, but this should not be considered an absolute trustworthy source of information
Greetings D-3134. This Non-standard notebook has been provided to you with the task of recording everything that goes on in the ship. Anything you deem important, anomalous or otherwise interesting, whether it be affecting the crew, yourself, or the ship, Please put down into this Notebook.
Entry 1: Mkay, record everything? Sounds easy enough. To be honest, I'm kind of surprised you all stuck us in a submarine without any supervisors or anything. The Warden or whatever the fuck said that this thing is autopiloting to a destination and then coming back, and a couple of the other D's have been trying to pry into the control panel, but they ain't had much luck.
Entry 2: It's been about an hour after we got stuck in this tin bucket, and not much has happened. The D's trying to break open the controls gave up after we told them you'd be able to track us and destroy us easily. No I won't give their "Designation". There's also been passing lights past portholes. Nothing bright, but just faint blinks of yellow light, right as we start to relax after seeing one. I think D-9631 has some serious anxiety problems, he's been breathing heavy and clutching his chest whenever he sees these. If I were to analogize the lights, it's like someones waving around those bright stage lights that raves or concerts have.
Entry 3: D-9631 was missing for a little while so I was told to go check on him, along with some Woman, I didn't bother asking to check her number. W found him at the Aft Starboard Airlock just… Staring. Out the window. I called to him but he didn't respond so I grabbed his shoulder and shook him, and he got off balance and landed onto his butt but didn't respond again. I could see his eyes though, and gods… He he looked like he went blind. The womans going to grab the others and I'm sitting here just writing this.
Okay, I might just be hearing things but D-9631 just kinda said something? He didn't speak moreso as it just kinda, fell out of his mouth. "i cnn t be founnn…"2 Two more D's are here now. I'll write more later. One of the other D's looks like he'll dent the floor with my face if I write longer.
Entry 4: Jeez… D-9631 is just kind of in the corner over there drooling. It's like he ain't even in his body any more. He mumbles every few minutes. The lights came back and they're starting to peer in through the portholes. Two more got caught in the lights and they are sort of like D-9631 now, and the rest of us headed inwards where there aren't any portholes. There's yellign and arguing about what to do..
I couldn't stand it, so I spoke up. Told 'em we can't be doing much of anything and we just have to wait it out. They just huffed and puffed and went on to their own parts of the room, though no ones went near D-9631. He's started spazzing every few seconds. I'd say about 3 and a half second off the top of my head. Just his head jerking left or right, or a leg jiggles or something.
Entry 53: Oh GD JeeSHIT!! tthe D …… convulsng, saying thigns. th….. are making loud howls as the D talks. i think hes saynig "they have trespas… onto .he great lands and …ers of [REDACTED], take them, add them to … pile. feast" the wal.., metal scrt.hing.
oh god theyre in theyre in theyre in the fuikin g ship
It should be noted that there wasn't anything beyond small scratches in the hull, and the insides of the submarine had noticeably higher Hume levels than base reality when a Kant Counter was used.
Reclassification of SCP-XXXX-01 instances to Object Class: Keter is pending as of this operation.
