item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained in a 10mX10m climate controlled containment cell, comprised of steel coated with oil, every week a new coat of oil is to be added to the walls via multipurpose drone (M.D).
The containment cell is fitted with 4 surveillance cameras and is to be kept under 50 degrees Celsius.

If SCP-XXXX attempts to breach containment an M.D fitted with an incendiary charge is to be sent in and is to be detonated once cell doors have closed.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a large pile of black organisms that have an appearance similar to that of the appendages of the Echinoidea (sea urchin), that are approximately 10cm in length and 11cm in width, the number of organisms is currently estimated to be [DATA EXPUNGED]. The organisms have a black exoskeleton comprised of keratin. The exoskeleton protects their inner bodies that are 30% muscle tissue, and 70% [DATA EXPUNGED].

The organisms stay in one large mass at all times and will die within 2 hours of separation from the main mass, due to malnutrition. SCP-XXXX is a hive mind and all are under control via one dominant organism that is hypothesized to be in the central area of the mass.

SCP-XXXX can morph into any creature of the Animalia kingdom, as long as the mass does not exceed 5000 kilograms. SCP-XXXX is sentient and morphs into a human whenever it attempts to interact with a subject.

SCP-XXXX is capable of feeling emotions such as anger, sadness, depression, happiness, and fear. SCP-XXXX consumes any species of Animalia that is in the early stages of decomposition.
SCP-XXXX moves as one singular mass using themselves to crawl onto any surface by puncturing the surface using their pointed ends.

Additional: SCP-XXXX is seemingly afraid of fire and will avoid any area with fire, despite the fact that fire has little to no effect on it.

Discovery: SCP-XXXX was found by Mobile Task Force Alpha in south America, SCP-XXXX terminated five of the nine MTF units before being sedated via M.D fitted with an incendiary charge. The remaining MTF agents were treated for psychological and physical damage.

Addendum XXXX-1: SCP-XXXX expelled a diary from its mass during testing. A Class-D was sent in to retrieve the diary. Once retrieved the Class-D gave the Diary to Doctor Langley, the Class-D
Has since been consumed by SCP-XXXX during a second test

Addendum XXXX-2: SCP-XXXX attempted a containment breach and terminated several Mobile Task Force units. SCP-XXXX has since been re-contained.

Addendum XXXX-3: SCP-XXXX appears to be afraid of light and has kept its self in a dark corner in the containment cell. The lights are now to be turned off unless testing has to be conducted using light.

The following is the text that was found in the diary given to Dr Langley (edits have been made to certain parts of it):

Day one.

Today I found some large black thing, that said its name was [REDACTED] I think. It was friendly and said that it was hungry, so I took the chicken that my mum had left out to defrost and gave it to [REDACTED]. I will continue to write about my experience so that I can remember anything important that I forget.

Day two.

He said that he is a boy and said that he was grateful for giving him food, he also has thanked me for letting him stay in my tree house. Our tree house hasn't been used in years, so I didn't really mind.

He walked past me an hour ago and something pricked me, and I'm starting to feel kind of sick. But it's probably nothing.

Day three.

I saw something on my bed this morning, it was spiky and was all disfigured, it moved unnaturally like every time it moved it was terrifying, but [REDACTED] said that he will protect me.

Mum is missing and so is dad, now all I have is [REDACTED] but that's ok because he will protect me and keep me safe.

Day four.

I'm starving, I don't think I will be able to last much longer, how could this happen, he said that he would protect me. He lied.

I have to get out of here, but he's guarding the door. He claims that he is helping me but I know that he's lying.

Day five.

It's too late, he nearly killed me this morning, and I have to hide in the basement. I will find a way out.

Day six.

Pain. Nothing but pain. It's over. Everything's over.

Side Note: Diary has been put in a locked container and is only accessible by personnel with security clearance level 2 and above.

Foreword: Dr Langley attempts to communicate with SCP-XXXX

<Begin Log>

Dr Langley: Greetings SCP-XXXX.

SCP-XXXX: (assimilates into the form of a human).

Dr Langley: We have some questions we would like you to answer, will you comply?

SCP-XXXX: (Forms a mouth,) as you wish.

Dr Langley: Great, so why did you allow D-[REDACTED] to take the diary from your containment chamber?

SCP-XXXX: I….. (Unintelligible)

Dr Langley: Can you speak up?

SCP-XXXX I am more…. Than…. You think. Y-you th-think that I am just some pile of spikes. But I…. Am more.

Dr Langley: I see. Anyway, where did you originate?

SCP-XXXX: I am from a place called t-the….. I…. C-cannot remember (Appendages begin to protrude from SCP-XXXX's back.)

Dr Langley: what do you mean?

SCP-XXXX: This. Is…. Over. (More appendages begin to protrude from SCP-XXXX's back) I-I'm sorry if-for this, but I am…… (Protrusions begin to "attack" the glass barrier between SCP-XXXX and Dr Langley.) wh-why…… Won't it….. Work?

Dr Langley: send in an M.D fitted with an incendiary charge, this interview is over. (M.D is sent in and is detonated, SCP-XXXX shrieks and retreats to the corner of its containment cell.)

<End Log>

Closing Statement: SCP-XXXX refuses to speak to any personnel and acts in aggression when communication is attempted. No more interviews are to be conducted.
