SCP-XXXX.png

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Threat Level: Yellow

Special Containment Procedures: Object is to be contained within a high tensile strength steel alloy with shock absorbing springs surrounding the cell. The object is to be held in place 1 millimeter above the floor by a titanium ring around the handle connected to a 5 metric ton lead counterweight by industrial cables.

Class-D will be given Class-A Amnesiacs after testing is complete, unless long term studies are being conducted. Level-4 staff and under are required to receive special permission from the head of research team or the O5-12 to enter the containment cell. Class-D personnel specially picked by Site Command will search through the SCP once every 5 hours with the supervision of at least one L-5 or above security staff member.

The containment cell is to be fitted with an incinerator. In the event of the discovery of any classified information the Class-D will be instructed to incinerate document. The Class-D will then be extracted from the containment cell and have Class-A Amnesiacs administered to them. The Class-D may no longer be allowed to encounter SCP-XXXX.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a standard sized briefcase with a weight of slightly more than 10 billion metric tons. However, when held from the handle of the briefcase it weighs 1 kilogram. The briefcase is made of a fine leather material dating back to the early 18th century. The tag states that the briefcase was created on █/██/19██ by an unknown corporate entity. When opened, the briefcase seems to be filled with papers, however, upon the removal of a paper Infrared scanning detects that another paper appears on the wall of the briefcase at approximately 50 degrees Celsius, when documents are placed back inside the briefcase a randomly selected document making contact with the briefcase inner wall and re absorb that document. This seems to indicated an infinitely large volume inside of the briefcase that can only be accessed through the briefcase.

After 1 hour of no human contact1 with the briefcase the weight when holding it from the handle will double, this effect will repeat endlessly until reaching the maximum 10 billion metric ton mass. Meaning the SCP will reach the max holding weight of the counterweight after 12 hours, and will reach the maximum weight after 36 hours. The SCP also changes which documents are presented in the accessible area of the briefcase every hour in which no human contact is made with the object.

Any human within a 60 meter radius will have every memory they have converted into document form which closely resembles the format of SCP documents and stored inside of the briefcase. The documents are placed inside the estimated 3500 cubic kilometer space containing all documents randomly. It has also been demonstrated that the SCP will copy memories as a perfect record, even if the subject has had their memory altered the SCP will record the correct version of events. This effect does not transfer to non human life.

Persons who are effected by SCP-XXXX have an estimated 4.6% chance of having every associate of theirs also have their memory copied by the object, these are referred to as expanded infohazards. People affected by SCP-XXXX through association with the person in direct contact are referred to as SCP-XXXX-2. SCP-XXXX-2 also have a chance of spreading the affect to all of their associates.

Scenarios where the affect of SCP-XXXX spreads to people not in direct contact with SCP-XXXX are designated Class-[number of estimated expanded infohazards that occur]-[Highest level SCPF staff affected] information breach.
