Gift of Flame

Item #: SCP-####

Object Class:Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-#### must be kept in oxygen deprived 3x5 meter room submerged in a Pressurized Cylindrical 1x1 meter container filled with 30 liters of Liquefied Nitrogen. Subjects entering the chamber are required to wear non-combustible clothing, Preferably Fire proximity suits composed of Zetex if SCP-#### has shown signs of "eruption".

Description: SCP-#### appears to be a life-size statue of the roman god, Vulcan. weighing 68 kg (149.9 lbs) with sitting height of 123.6 cm (4.55 ft). SCP-#### was found in a crouching position, partly submerged inside a standard commercial freezer containing 49.3 Liters of Liquid Nitrogen 40 miles north of Ulaanbatar, Mongolia. Initial attempts of physical contact SCP-#### have resulted in acid burn due to the rather unnatural molecular bond of Hemihydrate Calcium Sulfate with Hydroflouric Acid. Abnormal increase of temperature from 26°C to 2000°C in the span of 3 minutes have been observed upon initiation of drilling attempts. However, SCP-#### increase in surface temperature does not appear to melt the floor below it or increase chamber temperature. Corrosive effects are observed when organic material attempts to damage or distort its structural composition. ████████████, has described "a burning sensation" upon attempting to rub its surface.

Further attempts to penetrate with the use of SCP-#### have revealed its composition became extremely volatile if exposed to temperatures exceeding 100°C followed by emission of Carbon Dioxide and Sulfuric Acid. SCP-#### will emit a orange tint if exposure exceeds 2 minutes. After discontinuing exposure it appears to shown no change in color followed by spontaneous combustion and release of various gases such as sulfur dioxide, hydrogen chloride, hydrogen sulfide and hydrogen fluoride with the velocity of approximately 15m/s. Attempts to stabilize subject temperature, pressure and deprive chamber oxygen have proven futile. SCP-#### has been recorded to stabilize after the period of 15-18 minutes depending on room temperature.

Further anomalies such as materialization of various roman paraphernalia and subject animation have been reported by workers entering the chamber. After extensive Surveillance Footage Assessment and Monitoring, the reports have been dismissed by Command.

INCIDENT XXXX/01a

██ hours after subject recovery, Site 1███
Dr.████████: Using a steady jet of fire was a bad idea.

Officer ██████: Is this thing indestructible?

Dr.████████: I can't say. I need to conduct more tests. Using more equipment >perhaps?

Officer ██████: You've already caused three fatalities, Doctor.

Dr.████████: It will cause more if we don't know what's inside!

Officer ██████: The best thing we can do is find a sufficient containment chamber before order from command arrives. Any recommendations?
Dr.████████: We could seal it inside a pressurized container and fill the damn thing with liquid nitrogen. Deprive the chamber with oxygen and monitor it 24/7.

Officer ██████:Sure. I'll keep that in mind. I'll get some workers to [REDACTED].
