Blayke Reaver: Never Was

There was a man that never was
He was a man that never became
No one uttered his name
No one looked his way
He was a man remembered by none
He was a man no one thought of
To save the world was his goal
But the world was brought to an end
A sacrifice was made
A life was taken away
The man that never was
Was a man that never could
His good intention
His great deed
Came for naught
As the world began to crumble
He watched in horror
He watched in shame
At the event he caused
At the event that changed the world
This one event
This one choice
Did not save the world
It changed it
It made it more dangerous
It made it more deadly
What happened
What occurred
Whatever happened
To the man that never was
He was removed
He was eliminated
He no longer existed
In our universe or any other
Through space and time
Through time and space
His being
His form
Torn from life
Torn from existence
This was his price
This was his punishment
He sought to save a world
A world that need not saving
In the end
As his life crumbled
He saw the disaster he caused
He saw the inconsistencies he created
He saw things that broke reality
He saw objects that defied natural law
He saw the end
His end
Why then is he the man who never was
Never was he fated to save the world
He was fate only for destruction
