SCP-XXXX upon its initial discovery by the foundation on XX/XX/198X ((Note: I need to acquire permissions for that photo, it is property of oldcarandtruckpictures.com))

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is kept in a 10m x 10m garage in ((Some facility owned by the Foundation)) under video surveillance. The key to operate the vehicle is kept in a separately locked storage locker inside the containment facility. Duplicate copies of the key, herein referred to as SCP-XXXX-1, are not to be created. For experimentation, the vehicle has been equipped with GPS surveillance equipment, and a satellite phone with a direct connection to Dr. ████ ((Consider finding a pre-existing appropriate Dr. to insert here, or the creation of a new character. If a new character is created, attempt to instill a re-useable personality that suites the Foundation.. Unpopulated desert regions with a minimum of 10 kilometers of open roadway are to be used for field studies involving SCP-XXXX. All entrances to these roads are blocked off with two rows of police issue spike strips, two foundation vehicles, and four armed agents, using a cover story of a terrorist fugitive on the loose. Two high speed helicopters are to cover the perimeter of the testing region, and a third is to attempt to follow SCP-XXXX. A media blackout is to …•• ((expand this slightly))

Description: SCP-XXXX is a black convertible 1970 Oldsmobile Cutlass 442 W-30 with a 4-speed manual transmission. The odometer of SCP-XXXX is currently at its maximum mileage of 99 999.9 miles (160 934 km). SCP-XXXX is in remarkable condition for its history considering that no evidence of professional maintenance has been observed.

The moment a test subject puts SCP-XXXX-1 into SCP-XXXX and starts the ignition, the mileage on the odometer resets to 00 000.0 miles, and the fuel gauge flickers to a variable amount. Dr. ████ has confirmed that upon the start of a new experiment with a different D-Class test subject that the fuel gauge will reposition to a different level from what the level was at the conclusion of the previous experimentation. For this reason, it is preferred to keep the same D-Class personnel assigned to SCP-XXXX until they are scheduled for routine termination.
