Burning Christmas Goat

Item #: SCP-####-EX

Object class: Euclid Explained

Special Containment Procedures: A fence surrounding SCP-####-1 will be guarded by Foundation agents acting as local police officers. No civilians are to be let through. Lethal force is authorized if necessary, but strongly ill-adviced. In light of incident 1, SCP-####-1 will also be inspected during transportation for any pyrotechnic devices or devices of similar danger.

See addendum…

Description: SCP-#### is the city of Gävle, Sweden. Once every year during advent a giant straw goat (of varying size, not sure how to word this), hereafter referred to as SCP-####-11 will be erected in Castle Square in the middle of the town2.

For an unknown reason, SCP-####-1 is often exposed to arson, destruction and other sorts of vandalism on a random day, most commonly during the month of december, after being erected. Interviewed vandalizers are mostly aged between 15-30 years old and often express either regret or refuse to speak at all. Foundation agents have explored the city on numerous occations, but have never found any place that could explain why SCP-####-1 is always burnt.

Test Logs:
Before attempting to contain SCP-####-1 in the procedure mentioned above, several tests were made.

Test A - Date

Procedure: Restrain subject D-1234 with a rope to SCP-####-1. Several audio and video devices set up to inspect vandalist behaviour.
Results: Three males assumed to be in their 20's and carrrying a lighter and what is assumed to be a can of gasoline approached SCP-####-1 in a way were they could not see D-1234. When D-1234 heard the males the subject screamed and begged for them to release him from his restraints. One of the males whispered expletetives, untied D-1234 and told him to "run home to his mom". The males proceeded to douse the legs of SCP-####-1 in gasoline and light it on fire.
Analysis: The vandalists seem to not be blind to what they are doing, and try to not cause any harm to humans even if they are tied to the SCP. They seem more convinced than brainwashed.

Test B - Date

Procedure: During transportation SCP-####-1 will3 be doused in a non-flammable liquid.
Results: 22 days after SCP-####-1 was erected it was found lying down, with several visible chop marks. With the help of several eye-witnesses a male suspect aged at 18 was taken into custody for questioning. When asked for the purpose of the destruction of SCP-####-1 he responded with "I had tried lighting it on fire since it has always been burnt down, but that didn't work for some reason. Instead I just took an axe and had my way with it".
Analysis: This is the first time SCP-####-1 was not burnt down. If we want to stop people from burning it down we should really just protect it with a few men. Unlikely more is necessary.

Incident 1:4
On DATE, three years after implementing the containment procedures, SCP-####-1 burst into flames during the process of its erection, injuring X civilians and Y agents. When inspected agents had found that there was a device made to combust into flames inside the head of SCP-####-1. The previous two years have had SCP-####-1 be destroyed by a molotov chucked at the subject and a natural lightning bolt striking SCP-####-1.

Addendum:
This really seems fishy to me. While we have the act of police officers and we interview the vandalizers they respond similarly to a person who gets caught making graffiti on someones house or stealing from a candy store. I highly doubt this subject is actually anomalous, and is rather something that started as a "prank" and eventually just turned into tradition. I strongly recommend switching the subjects class to explained.
