Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: SCP-XXXX is Safe. Instances of SCP-XXXX-1 and SCP-XXXX-2 are Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a Standard Containment Vault in the Safe wing at Site 77.

In order to take SCP-XXXX out for testing, a Level 3 Researcher must coordinate with the Security Director of Site 77 to ensure that a Response Team is available to keep SCP-XXXX-1 and SCP-XXXX-2 contained, and the Site Quartermaster to ensure that a sufficient supply of living animal flesh is on hand before SCP-XXXX-2's emergence. All testing must take place in XXXX-A. XXXX-A is a 36 m x 36 m x 6 m room with a 31 m x 31 m x 1 m patch of gardening soil in the center. The floor underneath this soil is reinforced concrete 15.25 cm thick. Three of the walls are also reinforced concrete; the fourth is ballistic Plexiglas 15.25 cm thick. An observation room, XXXX-B, is behind this wall. 600W full-spectrum HID metal halide grow lights are mounted in the ceiling.

Once Class D Personnel have completed plowing the soil in XXXX-A, at least two Security Officers must remain on duty in XXXX-B until 36 hours after SCP-XXXX-1 first started to grow. At this point, a Tactical Response Team will be placed on alert. The Security Officers will be issued herbicide spray. The Tactical Response Team will be issued herbicide spray and flamethrowers. All personnel entering XXXX-A must wear hazmat suits.

At a test's conclusion, all instances of SCP-XXXX-1 and SCP-XXXX-2 will be terminated. Samples of SCP-XXXX-1, SCP-XXXX-2, and the soil of XXXX-A will be collected for testing. The remains of SCP-XXXX-1 and SCP-XXXX-2 will be incinerated. The remainder of the soil will be irradiated to kill any microbes or traces of the SCP left, then used in the landfill at ██████████.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a single-wheel push plow manufactured in the late 19th century under the P█████ ███ brand name. While catalogs from the time period show multiple attachments for this model, SCP-XXXX only retains the plow attachment. The handles are 142 cm long and made of ash with the P█████ ███ brand name stamped midway down the handle. The wheel and plow attachment are both made of steel.

If SCP-XXXX is used to plow a field, whatever seeds are sown will sprout into instances of SCP-XXXX-1, a kudzu-like plant that grows in masses up to 5 meters high producing hairy pods between 1.5 and 1.75 meters long. Each pod takes up roughly 1 square meter of SCP-XXXX-1's surface area. The type of seeds used does not appear to have any bearing on SCP-XXXX-1's appearance or behavior. SCP-XXXX-1 will first start to grow between 120 and 168 hours (5 to 7 days) after seeds are sown. Seeds have sprouted into SCP-XXXX-1 up to 34 hours after the test site was plowed.

Between 52 48 and 63 hours after SCP-XXXX-1 first starts to grow, the pods will split open, releasing instances of SCP-XXXX-2. SCP-XXXX-2 has a green humanoid body with reddish-pink streaks, is between 1.4 and 1.6 meters tall, and has no discernible gender. Its head resembles the B-52 cultivar of Dionaea Muscipula, commonly called Venus Flytrap. It has no discernible eyes or ears, but has demonstrated the ability to detect animals and humans in its immediate vicinity.

SCP-XXXX-2 remains docile so long as it is regularly supplied with living animal flesh. A single instance of SCP-XXXX-2 must consume at least 4.8 kilograms of flesh daily or enter its agitated state. "Flesh," in this instance, refers to muscle tissue and internal organs; skin, bone, and cartilage are not digested. SCP-XXXX-2 appears to prefer human flesh to that of animals, but sheep, cattle, and chickens will keep it in its docile state. All attempts to feed SCP-XXXX-2 previously killed animals have been unsuccessful.

In its docile state, SCP-XXXX-2 will tend SCP-XXXX-1, dusting off its leaves and arranging its vines in various patterns. It will also dig into any soil available that is not already growing SCP-XXXX-1, moving its hands through the soil. This soil will begin to sprout additional instances of SCP-XXXX-1 between 120 and 168 hours after being treated by SCP-XXXX-2. If no bare soil is available, it will attempt to coax the existing SCP-XXXX-1 to grow over the concrete walkway surrounding the test soil. Once this happens, the floor of XXXX-A must be examined carefully to ensure that SCP-XXXX-1's roots do not damage the concrete; if this happens, the test must be immediately terminated.

If it is attacked or has not consumed living flesh in the last 4 to 6 hours, SCP-XXXX-2 will enter its agitated state and attempt to destroy the walls of XXXX-A. In its agitated state, its blows can break bone, although the ballistic Plexiglas and reinforced concrete used in XXXX-A can withstand repeated strikes. SCP-XXXX-2 will also throw SCP-XXXX-1's vines at attackers. The spines on these vines can, with enough force, penetrate a hazmat suit and bury themselves in human flesh. If this occurs, immediate treatment with herbicide spray or fire is recommended.

Recovery: SCP-XXXX was found on ██/██/████ at the remains of a rural house roughly 33 kilometers north of ███████, ██. SCP-XXXX-1 had covered roughly █ hectares of the surrounding countryside, the owner's house, and half a shed. Remains of █ humans were found in addition to those of many animals. An Agent embedded in the ██████ County Sheriff Department alerted the Foundation. MTF Iota-10 ("Damn Feds") took over the investigation. After terminating all instances of SCP-XXXX-1 and SCP-XXXX-2, SCP-XXXX was discovered and brought to the Foundation for investigation.
