A single instance of SCP-XXXX-1

Sighting of SCP-XXXX-2

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX consists of two seemingly co-dependent entities, further to be referred to as SCP-XXXX-1 and SCP-XXXX-2. As of this time only SCP-XXXX-1 is contained and is actively being tested on. The whereabouts of SCP-XXXX-2 are currently unknown, it’s last sighting being on ██-██-1999 at ██████ ████-██ █████████.

SCP-XXXX-1 is to be held within a sealed glass container and monitored with a camera at all times. Unless required for testing procedures instances of the creature may only be handled while wearing thick protective clothing to prevent the penetration of skin. Testing of SCP-XXXX-1 may only be carried out inside a fully sealed environment under close observation of Dr. Vera Stikker. Upon completion of testing procedures subjects are required to completely undress and undergo a full physical examination in the event that SCP-XXXX-1 managed to place an instance of itself onto the subject's body.

In the occasion that SCP-XXXX-1 manages to duplicate itself these new instances of SCP-XXXX-1 must be removed from containment and incinerated. Any personnel that came in contact with these instances of the creature are required to undergo the same physical examination procedure as required for test subjects.

Subjects and personnel afflicted by SCP-XXXX-1 are required to undergo a full physical and mental examination to determine if the encounter left any lingering results followed by up to 48 hours of isolation before being allowed to continue work as normal.

Description: SCP-XXXX-1 takes on the appearance of a piece of wood between 1 and 2 cm in length ending in a sharp tip that can penetrate skin under slight pressure. Unless being actively observed by a human being the creature is able to move at a speed comparable to that of a common household spider. SCP-XXXX-1 is able to move on walls and ceilings without any visible slowdown, including frictionless surfaces.

If given the opportunity SCP-XXXX-1 attempts to position itself where human beings are prone to accidentally be penetrated by its sharp end, during which the creature draws a minimal amount of blood. Victims who experience this penetration show momentary annoyance before completely wiping the experience from their memory. Upon questioning the victim will deny the encounter ever took place, often resulting in visible confusion when notified of the miniscule wound the creature left behind (See addendum XXXX.1). SCP-XXXX-1 uses the blood drawn from the victim to form a duplicate copy of itself which looks and acts completely identical to the original. This process is done by growing twice its initial size before shedding off the new instance of the itself, taking between 20 and 30 minutes to complete.

SCP-XXXX-1 will continue setting itself up for these encounters for several days until it formed enough duplicates of itself to fully cover an adult human body. After which victims will soon be found covered in instances of SCP-XXXX-1, draining blood and creating new instances of itself while leaving it's victim completely paralized (possibly by the same substance which causes the aforementioned momentary loss of memory (requires further study)). Attempts to remove the creature from the victim’s body results in instances of SCP-XXXX-1 flooding whoever attempted to do so, focusing on blocking vision and halting further interference.

Once the creature completely removed any blood from the victim’s body (victims are likely to be deceased hours before) it retreats, all instances of it moving as if it were one being, until it finds its way into an outdoor environment where it proceeds towards SCP-XXXX-2, who remains hidden from sight up to this point (See addendum XXXX.2). All instances of SCP-XXXX-1 swarm over SCP-XXXX-2 for a few seconds before they drop dead, losing whatever function they had before the encounter with SCP-XXXX-2, after which SCP-XXXX-2 disappears from the area leaving behind only the inactive SCP-XXXX-1 instances.

Addendum XXXX.1: Interview by Dr. Vera Stikker of █████ ███ after being affected by SCP-XXXX-1:

Interviewed: █████ ███ (Further referred to as 'Test Subject 3A')

Interviewer: Dr. Vera Stikker

Foreword: Test Subject 3A has purposefully let SCP-XXXX-1 draw blood before the interview.

<Begin Log - 16:11:04>

Dr. Vera Stikker: Hello █████. How are you feeling?

Test Subject 3A: I'm feeling alright, a little queasy… I'm not too fond of blood, especially not my own. Weren't we supposed to have this interview after the test?

Dr. Vera Stikker: The test has already taken place, █████. Do you not remember it?

Test Subject 3A: [laughs] That’s ridiculous, doctor. I haven't even been inside the chamber yet.

Dr. Vera Stikker: Are you positive you have not completed the test yet?

Test Subject 3A: Look, doc, I really don't like the idea of getting stung by some freaky fucking creature in the first place so can we please get this over with quickly?

Dr. Vera Stikker: I would like you to have a look at this.

[Dr. Vera Stikker shows Test Subject 3A footage of the encounter with SCP-XXXX-1]

Test Subject 3A: I… what… is this some kind of joke to you people?

Dr. Vera Stikker: I can personally assure you this footage is not tampered with by the Foundation. Now once again… can you tell me exactly how you are feeling?

[Test Subject 3A stares at the small wound caused by the encounter with SCP-XXXX-1 and seems unresponsive]

Dr. Vera Stikker: █████? █████, could you please answer my question.

[Dr. Vera Stikker pauses, observing Test Subject 3A]

Dr. Vera Stikker: I think we're done here for now.

<End Log - 16:14:51>

Closing Statement: Test Subject 3A and Dr. Vera Stikker both undertook a full physical examination. Neither of these examinations turned up with the presence of a duplicate of SCP-XXXX-1.

Test Subject 3A also undertook a mental examination. The encounter seems to have caused no lingering mental effects on the test subject aside from mild confusion.

Addendum XXXX.2: Notes of observation crew during the first recorded encounter of SCP-XXXX on ██-05-1993:

██-05-1993 / 21:45

It's been 3 hours since the creature first hatched itself onto the subject's body. The victim has since then collapsed onto the floor and previous spasms have ceased. If previous victims are any indication the creature should be done feeding any moment now. Though I’m not convinced feeding is the right term to use for whatever these things are doing.

██-05-1993 / 21:54

All instances of the creature swarmed off the victim’s body once they completed sucking the poor bastard dry. Christ… we did not expect them to suddenly get up and leave like that. ████ has managed to contain one of the entities and is now preparing it for transport. And by the sound of it our boys with the flamethrowers outside are making quick work of the rest of them.

██-05-1993 / 22:17

As we were packing up some of the personnel outside the victim’s house notified us of a second being watching from the nearby woods. Despite our efforts dozens of the tiny fuckers managed to get past the sea of flames that were waiting for them and join up with this… thing. I can't confirm this with certainty but this being apparently seemed humanoid in size and shape based on the description the outside personnel gave us after the encounter. A search crew has already been dispatched looking for this second creature.
