Chronostasis' SCP-XXXX Draft

Object #: SCP-XXXX

Object Classification: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a standard large containment cell. Walls of the cell are to be coated in industrial grade lubricant to avoid small instances of SCP-XXXX from climbing the walls. SCP-XXXX is to be fed .5 tons of meat every three days. Water is to be automatically and constantly supplied. SCP-XXXX is highly coordinated and intelligent, and will not hesitate to take any oppurtunity for escape or attack. If there is a sudden change in patterns of whispering, contact the site director immediately.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a pack of 65 human hands severed at the wrist, designated SCP-XXXX-1. Each instance able to stand using its fingers as legs and thumb as support. Each instance has a mouth on the palm, and constantly whispers in an unknown language. Size of the instances can differ from average infant hands to hands 3 meters tall when measured standing. It is suspected that the larger hands belong to Homo ███████, thought extinct for █████ years. The pack exhibits wolf-like hunting strategies, and are highly intelligent but not sapient. After being sufficiently fed, SCP-XXXX will enter an inactive state for 3-5 days.

Procedure: An instance is dissected.
Results: Two ligaments in the hand are found to be acting as vocal cords. Upon severing these ligaments, the instance immediately dies and rapidly decays into dirt. following the instance's death, the pack became extremely agitated and initiated a breach, causing ██ casualties before re-containment.

Procedure: An instance is exposed to fire.
Results: Results inconclusive, as when Dr. ████ turned on the torch, SCP-XXXX immediately began attacking walls of its enclosure, eventually breaking down the door. Dr. ████ was swarmed and consumed. After Dr. ████'s death, SCP-XXXX was immediately placated and easily brought back into containment.

Further Notes: Content of whispers has been found to be used as communication - although all instances lack most sensory organs, every instance changes what they are whispering according to what the pack is doing, or vice versa, at the exact same time. Communication does not experience a speed of light delay.

Addendum-XXXX-1: SCP-XXXX has become extremely active, occasionally ambushing and consuming any personnel upon entry. Due to this, all cleaning and feeding is to be done by D-class.

Addendum-XXXX-2: Development of psychosis and auditory hallucinations have been noted in staff who receive extended exposure to the whispering of SCP-XXXX. Staff are now to rotate shifts every two days.

Procedure: A D-Class personnel is exposed to SCP-XXXX's whispering for an extended period of time.
Results: D-6089 consistently exposed to whispering for three weeks. Once taken away from whispering, D-6089 began to whisper himself in the same pattern as SCP-XXXX. 26 hours afer D-6089 began whispering, he stopped, immediately died, and decayed in a similar fashion to the instance of SCP-XXXX-1 in Experiment-XXXX-1.

Addendum-XXXX-3: Recordings of whispering analyzed and a linguistic model has been created. In every pattern of whispering, there is a base repeated phrase and additional content that corresponds to tactics of the pack. By removing the "base phrase" and corresponding language to prior events, future tactics of SCP-XXXX can be anticipated. All staff are required to memorize the following table.

  • Phrase B: Phonetically pronounced as "STAH - vray". Phrase B indicates that the pack is preparing to attack directly.
  • Phrase C: Phonetically pronounced as "KEE". Phrase C indicates that the pack is going into hiding.
  • Phrase D: Phonetically pronounced as "UHN". Phrase D is used as "and" or "then".
  • Base Phrase: Phonetically pronounced as "███████ - ███". The base phrase is linked to SCP-XXXX's anomalous properties.

Addendum-XXXX-4: An instance of SCP-XXXX-1, hereby designated as SCP-XXXX-2, has developed rudimentary English skills. Subject must still repeat base phrase in original dialect. SCP-XXXX-2 was immediately removed from confinement for an interview.

Interviewed: SCP-XXXX-2

Interviewer: Dr. █████

Foreword: An interview is initialized to extract information concerning SCP-XXXX and SCP-XXXX-2. Base phrase omitted from interview for brevity.

<Begin Log>

Dr. █████: Hello, SCP-XXXX-2. We have a few questions to ask you. What are you?

SCP-XXXX-2: I am… Carry of speech. We keep our speech from die. Speech keep us from die, twisted as we are.

Dr. █████: Are you and the others the last who speak your language?

SCP-XXXX-2: We are. Others are fool. Sacrifice being human for being this.

SCP-XXXX-2: I were. Most us were. We become this for keep speech. Our speech is evil. Twisted. It make us this way just by using it. We were promise immortality through use it, but we not expect this.

Dr. █████: Your language keeps you immortal? How does it do that? Did the language itself corrupt you?

SCP-XXXX-2: I already say too much.

<Object remains silent.>

Closing Statement: Subject ceased repeating the base phrase and, after approximately 35 seconds, decayed in a similar fashion to the instance of SCP-XXXX-1 experimented on in Experiment-XXXX-1.
