SCP-XXXX in the process of creating multiple duplicates

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained within a room which is two meter in length, two meters in width, and two meters in height. This room must be fully padded and SCP-XXXX must wear a straight jacket at all times so that it cannot inflict harm upon itself or others. While assigned to SCP-XXXX, on-site personnel under no circumstance are permitted to use lethal force against SCP-XXXX and/or duplicates. If a duplicate of SCP-XXXX appears in the cell of the original, that duplicate is to be removed immediately and placed in its own containment until it is decided if termination is necessary by Dr.Adams and Dr.Howard. If the number of SCP-XXXX duplicates in a cell exceeds the number of security personnel present then the security team is to request reinforcements before entering the cell to capture and/or terminate the additional duplicates. Separated duplicates of SCP-XXXX must follow the exact same containment procedure as the original. Only two duplicates of SCP-XXXX being allowed at any one time for testing purposes, to be designated SCP-XXXX-1 and SCP-XXXX-2. Any duplicate beyond SCP-XXXX-1 and SCP-XXXX-2 must be contained and later terminated.

Under no circumstances is SCP-XXXX allowed contact or audience with any duplicates of itself. If SCP-XXXX does establish contact or audience with any duplicate, on-site security officers are to separate and escort both SCP-XXXX and its duplicate(s) to their proper containment units. If it becomes necessary to distinguish SCP-XXXX from its duplicates this can be achieved through the administration of moderate pain stimulus. SCP-XXXX will exhibit signs of physical distress when pain stimulus is administered to a duplicate. Duplicates will not exhibit this behavior nor will they attempt to replicate it.

Description: SCP-XXXX has been idenitifed as male humanoid creature that produce exact duplicates of itself on a daily basis. These duplicates mostly take a form similar to that of the original; a Caucasian male with brown hair between the ages of 22 and 36. However, they have occasionally been seen as a female around the same age and race. These duplicates appear to manifest around SCP-XXXX as translucent figures before materializing into a physical form. The furthest a duplicate has manifested from SCP-XXXX is one meter. Testing has shown that duplicates of SCP-XXXX cannot manifest themselves through or behind solid materials.

SCP-XXXX has no control over when a duplicate materializes or over the duplicate itself; However, both the original and duplicates share the same fragmented consciousness. When a duplicate of SCP-XXXX is terminated, the original will feel great pain corresponding to the manner of the duplicate's death because of their shared consciousness. SCP-XXXX claims that it can feel how the duplicate was killed and can even identify the method of death. After a duplicate is terminated, SCP-XXXX becomes more focused as its psyche is no longer shared with the terminated duplicate. If any changes to SCP-XXXX's physical appearance occur, its future duplicates will share these changes.

When interviewed by researchers, all duplicates will claim to be the original. When confined within close proximity of each one another, the duplicates will attempt violent action against SCP-XXXX and each other in order to "prove'' that they are in fact the real SCP-XXXX. Because of this, SCP-XXXX is noticeable fearful of its duplicates.

When separated 100 meters from the original, duplicates of SCP-XXXX begin to exhibit suicidal tendency within 42 hours. These duplicates will undertake various tactics in order to execute themselves, with the most common being repeated blunt force trauma of the head against cell walls causing cranial damage. Other methods of suicide attempts include choking itself with loose clothing, trying to obtain a firearm from the armory to shoot itself, cutting itself with its own fingernails in an attempt to cut open an artery, and aggravating armed guards into violent actions in order to be shot and killed by security personal. Therefore personal assigned to SCP-XXXX and duplicates must use nonlethal weaponry.

Dr.Howard theorize that SCP-XXXX is attempting to regain control over its shared psyche through a telepathic link with its duplicates and unknowingly causes the suicidal actions of said duplicates. Evidence of this theory has yet to be identified.

Although each duplicate believes that it is the original SCP-XXXX, the duplicates are not above working together (as seen in Incident [XXXX-002]) against SCP-XXXX. All duplicates seem to agree that SCP-XXXX is not the original and have a greater hatred towards SCP-XXXX then towards each other. Duplicates have been able to have the ability distinguish SCP-XXXX from themselves even if there is little to no physical difference between them.

Two duplicates of SCP-XXXX are contained for testing purposes, SCP-XXXX-1 and SCP-XXXX-2. SCP-XXXX-1 takes the form of a Caucasian female and is the most violent of the two duplicate types. SCP-XXXX-1 has tried repeatedly to attack SCP-XXXX and has injured on-site staff on rare occasions. For this reason, SCP-XXXX-1 has been assigned to more physically demanding tests in order to fatigue it. SCP-XXXX-1 must be restrained and guarded when outside of containment.

SCP-XXXX-2 takes the form of a Caucasian male more closely resembling the original. Unlike most duplicates, SCP-XXXX-2 is diplomatic in its interactions with researchers but still engages in violence against SCP-XXXX. SCP-XXXX-2 recounts memories that only the original would remember and uses these memories as evidence that it is in fact the original SCP-XXXX.

Although SCP-XXXX has no control over when these duplicates are created, it appears that duplicates are made more frequently when SCP-XXXX is under extreme stress. The number of duplicates SCP-XXXX can make is currently unknown, but the highest amount counted was [REDACTED] copies during Incident [XXXX-002].

Incident [XXXX-001] :
On the day of 02/15/20██, during a termination process, subject SCP-XXXX-1 escaped containment after overpowering a security officer. Later, SCP-XXXX-1 ran throughout the facility in search of SCP-XXXX who was being escorted for an interview with Dr.Adams and & Dr. Howard. When confronted with SCP-XXXX, SCP-XXXX-1 attacked it while constantly calling SCP-XXXX, "The Impostor". Security guards were able to restrain SCP-XXXX-1 but not before SCP-XXXX created two duplicates labeled SCP-XXXX-3 and SCP-XXXX-4. Dr.Adams and Dr.Howard were called in order to calm SCP-XXXX and prevent the creation of any more duplicates. Security was enhanced in order prevent any future escape attempts. All duplicates, including SCP-XXXX-1 and -2, were terminated later that same day.

Incident [XXXX-002]:
Replaced other D-class with duplicates of SCP-XXXX for the day, see testing schedule [REDACTED] for details. These duplicates participated in normal tests involving SCPs ranging from safe to keter-class objects. SCPs that have nonlethal effects on a subject only affected the duplicate and not the original. Duplicates of SCP-XXXX responded poorly to testing with the more dangerous SCPs causing the death of many duplicates.

SCP-XXXX (who was in his cell at the time of testing), due to the emotional strain, began creating large numbers of duplicates. Security guards were following an outdated procedure and caused a containment breach of SCP-XXXX and duplicates. The duplicates gave chase to SCP-XXXX until it managed to remain hidden for the remainder of the incident.

The failure of finding SCP-XXXX caused a riot to take place among the duplicates and soon they overran the facility to continue their search. Duplicates who were assigned to keter-class objects failed to follow special containment procedures, leading to the containment breach of a few notable SCPs such as SCP-████. On site security personnel were able to capture and contain escaped SCPs after ██ were killed and ███ were injured. Personnel located SCP-XXXX, unconscious in a storage closet and delivered it to its containment cell. All duplicates of SCP-XXXX were terminated and testing has since been discontinued.

Dr.Adams has formally submitted a request to continue testing with duplicates of SCP-XXXX as replacements of D-Class personnel. Dr.Howard has strongly protested to the testing with duplicates and showed to have begun sympathizing with SCP-XXXX. Dr.Howard has been removed and forbidden from working on the project any further. As of this point, the request made by Dr.Adams are pending approval by O5 Council.
