Parasitic Shadow

SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures:

SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a standard containment cell reinforced with 5 cm. of steel and 5 cm. of titanium, with all openings hermetically sealed. SCP-XXXX must be attached to a humanoid mannequin at all times, except for when a host transfer is taking place. A host transfer procedure (detailed in addendum XXXX-1) must be performed every 14 days. If this host transfer does not take place, or SCP-XXXX attaches to a human being, SCP-XXXX must be classified as Keter and procedure Epsilon 1 must be carried out. Procedure Epsilon 1 is detailed in addendum XXXX-1 SCP-XXXX will be re-classified as Euclid if secure containment as detailed above is established.

**Description:*

SCP-XXXX is a parasitic, shadow entity that survives by attaching itself to a host, which is classified as SCP-XXXX-1 (preferably living for SCP-XXXX), and establishing mind control over a period of 14 days. No matter what the position of SCP-XXXX-1 is relative to any and all light sources, the position of SCP-XXXX-1's shadow never changes relative to SCP-XXXX-1. Controlled hosts exhibit an extreme level of intelligence and hostility, presumed as the mind of SCP-XXXX. SCP-XXXX-1 can, after a period of 15 days, teleport unmeasured distance (SCP-XXXX-1 must know at least what 5% of the teleport location looks like), exhibit superhuman strength, exhibit limited telepathy, become undetectable to light, infrared, and sonar detectors, emit an extremely toxic gas which kills on contact with skin, and replicate SCP-XXXX. During a catastrophic containment breach, SCP-XXXX had a recorded 14 copies spread across the facility, and was responsible for the deaths of 83 facility staff. SCP-XXXX was finally contained by mobile task forces Mu-13 and Omega 7.
Interview log with SCP-XXXX-1:

Interviewed: SCP-XXXX-1

Interviewer: Dr. ███████ █████

Foreword: SCP-XXXX-1 has been infested for 16 days. This has been allowed for the purpose of this interview. SCP-XXXX-1 does not have knowledge of the control room.

<Begin Log, [02-██-████ 16:00 hours EST]>

Dr. ███████ █████: What is your name?

SCP-XXXX-1 (does not reply)

Dr. ███████ █████: What is your name? Your host will be terminated if you do not comply.

SCP-XXXX-1 I will not grant you the privilege of speaking my name, Dr. ███████ █████.
Dr. ███████ █████: Where are you from? And how do you have a consciousness?
SCP-XXXX-1: I hail from (speaks unintelligible language). My consciousness exists because without it, I would not exist. I am entirely made from the minds of dead men.
<End Log, [02-██-████ 16:02 hours EST]>

Closing Statement: [After the last statement said by SCP-XXXX-1, SCP-XXXX-1 teleported inside the control room, causing the containment breach resulting in 14 copies of SCP-XXXX-1 across the facility]

Addendum XXXX-1:
Procedure Epsilon 1 proceeds as follows:
The current cell block occupied by SCP-XXXX, and all neighboring cell blocks, are to be locked down and all guards are to be placed on high alert. If any copies of SCP-XXXX-1 are incapacitated, they are to be taken to the cell designated for SCP-XXXX. All copies except for one are to be terminated by use of an arc furnace on-site. If any copies of SCP-XXXX-1 escape, Foundation command is to be notified immediately.
