Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures:
SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a 5 by 5 meter cell surrounded by a 50-meter containment zone within Site-██. The cell is to have a remote access pass code protected door, the password to which is only know to two offsite Level 3 personal. All requests for testing must be verified by one of the two personal. No personal items of value items fitting required measurements are to be brought into this zone outside of approved testing.

Description:
SCP-XXXX is a standard Knislinge sofa, with no discernible differences from identical sofas produced by the I███ Company. Testing has revealed no anomalous properties of the materials or structure and is capable of being damaged. Disassembly is impossible as an unknown force holds the structure together even though analysis shows binding mechanisms being no different from standard screws and pegs.

However, chemical analysis revealed an unknown compound in the air surrounding SCP-XXXX. Testing has shown a similarity to [DATA EXPUNGED]. Furthermore, isolation is impossible, as the chemical has been shown to manifest within a 30-meter radius of SCP-XXXX regardless of walls, doors, or other physical barriers.

SCP-XXXX’s anomalous properties manifest when personal objects of value objects smaller than 10cm by 10cm by 4 cm are brought within 30m of SCP-XXXX. The object in question will vanish from the subject’s possession regardless of physical contact or observation. Objects that have been observed to disappear include but not limited to:
-Cellular phones
-Wallets
-Watches
-Earrings
-Glasses (even as the person is wearing them)
-Rings
-Pens
-Paper notes
-False teeth

Subject will assume they have misplaced the object in question and will invariably be drawn to SCP-XXXX even if they are unaware of its presence in the area. Upon seeing SCP-XXXX the subject will believe that the missing object is located between SCP-XXXX’s cushions. X-ray analysis has shown no evidence of this, with the object having disappeared completely from the area. Upon reaching into SCP-XXXX the subjects hand will vanish leaving only a stump 2cm below the end of the ulna and radius. Subjects feel no pain from this, however become upset after seeing the loss of their hand. The end of the arm terminates in a smooth patch of skin as thought the wound had previously healed. Currently no remains or biological matter has been recovered from XXXX. The object in question will invariably reappear within the subject’s pocket or possession after passing outside of the 50m-containment zone
