Welcome to my Sandbox! My current project is 'Diamond Engine'! Yay! :D
Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is currently housed at Site-42, under observation in storage room 37. Art supplies are to be brought in by authorized personnel only. Personnel may only interact with SCP-XXXX with the permission of the Site Director. Any personnel found interacting with SCP-XXXX without authorization will be immediately reassigned.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a worn, hardcover book measuring 20cm x 30cm x 5cm, and judging from material make-up and wear, the book is dated to be have been made sometime in the early twentieth century. A faded title can be found in the top-left corner of the front cover, and reads 'La Chronologie Illustrée'. Apart from this, the object lacks any written description of purpose, identifying features or significant marking, and no indication of author(s) or publisher(s) are visible. SCP-XXXX contains 378 pages in total, with each page being marked in accordance with modern Arabic numerals.
The book is a complete illustrated account of the existence of an intelligent species (Hereafter referred to as SCP-XXXX-1), with each page seeming to leap roughly half a century ahead of the previous one. By this estimation, around 15,000 years are depicted in SCP-XXXX overall.
While instances of SCP-XXXX-1 do retain humanoid features, it is currently unknown whether instances are meant to represent Humans or not. This is due to extensive research into the biology of SCP-XXXX-1 being impossible, with the art style used to illustrate individual members of SCP-XXXX-1 appearing crude and rushed. Instances of SCP-XXXX-1 are fully animate, and act as though sentient, on every page of SCP-XXXX.
Scenes depicted within SCP-XXXX exhibit temporal qualities, which can be observed through events such as plant growth, although SCP-XXXX-1 itself does not appear to advance technologically, socially or otherwise on any single given page. This is due to an abnormality that individual pages experience whereby the events they portray seem to repeat themselves on an hourly basis, creating a time loop, and instances of SCP-XXXX-1 are apparently unaware of this. For major changes across SCP-XXXX-1's timeline to be recognised, the observer must progress through the book.
A second anomalous effect of SCP-XXXX may be seen when an object is drawn onto one of it's pages, at which point it will be capable of interaction with the rest of the image, regardless of the quality of the drawing. These changes affect all proceeding pages, with seemingly minor alterations affecting later pages significantly (See Instance XXXX-01). For this reason, SCP-XXXX is currently being used in research concerning the butterfly effect, alongside other principles of chaos, in the hopes that prediction models may be improved.
A significant thing to note of SCP-XXXX's contents is that of it's unusual correlation, at times, to real-world events and entities. One such such significant entity (Hereafter referred to as SCP-XXXX-2) manifests in the form of a collection of SCP-XXXX-1 instances resembling and behaving almost identically to that of the SCP Foundation itself. SCP-XXXX-2 has been observed to react to especially anomalous occurrences throughout the course of each and every variation of SCP-XXXX-1's history, failing to be absent from any single timeline. SCP-XXXX-2 appears to act in accordance with most if not all of the foundation's own regulations, and, as a result, it's behaviour has been closely observed in the hopes of determining the outcome of real-world breaches of containment, and how they may be prevented.
For future reference, a record of the timeline depicted in SCP-XXXX, prior to any alteration on behalf of the foundation, has been written (It is unknown as to what outside interference SCP-XXXX-1's timeline encountered before coming into the foundation's possession, if any);
The following is a record of the original condition of SCP-XXXX-1's timeline when the item was first discovered, with only pages of interest mentioned:
Page 1: A primitive society exists amongst instances of SCP-XXXX-1. Small houses have been constructed from the trunks of large plant-like structures resembling trees, and farming methods are present, if not very basic. Violence is prominent on this page, and instances are seen to be physically abused on a daily basis for minor infractions.
Page 7: Simple art is beginning to take shape, and this can observed through the construction of aesthetic features on buildings, wall paintings and ornaments.
Page 10: First reference made to a monarch. It appears as an instance of SCP-XXXX-1 wearing a cloak and crown while guarded by several other SCP-XXXX-1 instances.
Page 22: A natural disaster resembling a hurricane is ongoing on this page.
Page 23: Instances of SCP-XXXX-1 are reconstructing their society following the storm depicted on the prior page. This is one of the few pages in which all instances cooperate peacefully with each other. There is no record of violence or abuse on this page.
Page 33: Statues and shrines are being constructed. This is the first indication that a religion has been established.
Page 40: A statue depicting a large snake-like creature has been destroyed by a small group of SCP-XXXX-1 instances. They experience physical torment as punishment following a trial, suggesting that some form of advanced justice system exists on this page. The torture of which they are dealt involves an extreme form of ████████, and this type of punishment does not subside until page 46.
Page 55: A large explosion that destroys a tower occurs on this page. The cause is unknown and by page 56, instances of SCP-XXXX-1 appear to have forgotten it.
Page 79: The first depicted war occurs on this page. It appears to have commenced over land. Weapons in use during the fight include that of swords, bows and an axe-like cleaver that is used to pin the enemy to the ground. By page 80, the fighting has stopped and instances of SCP-XXXX-1 are recovering.
Page 99: A basic steam engine is constructed on this page. It does not come into major use until page 100.
Page 110: A large explosion that destroys a market and kills three instances of SCP-XXXX-1 occurs on this page. Any cause or relation to the explosion on page 55 is undetermined and by page 111, instances appear to have forgotten it.
Page 158: Electricity's use for power is discovered by instances of SCP-XXXX-1 on this page. It first appears in the form of what seems to be children's toys, though by page 160 it sees large-scale use, such as in industry.
Page 165: The second depicted war occurs on this page. It appears to have commenced over religion. Churches, temples and statues are seen to be attacked and destroyed, although by page 166, the fighting has stopped and instances of SCP-XXXX-1 are recovering.
Page 167: First observed use of automobiles on this page. They first appear to serve a purpose with armed forces, although by page 168, they are available for all instances of SCP-XXXX-1.
Page 189: A large explosion that destroys an electric train and kills five instances of SCP-XXXX-1 occurs on this page. Any cause or relation to prior unexplained explosions is undetermined. Following this event, SCP-XXXX-2 makes it's first appearance and shows great interest in the remains of the detonation. It is unknown as to why this is the case and, following routine procedure, SCP-XXXX-2 is observed to take samples from the site and leave.
Page 203: An aeroplane crash occurs on this page. One of the five engines the plane had appears to be the cause, and the incident forces instances of SCP-XXXX-1 to redesign the vehicle. By page 204, the aeroplane's physical properties and performance have been drastically enhanced.
Page 205: A network of computers has been established by SCP-XXXX-1 on this page.
Page 243: What appears to be a commercial spaceflight service is functioning on this page. It is recognised that trips taken on the shuttle are one-way as instances of SCP-XXXX-1 are only ever seen to board the vehicle, never leave it. It is currently unknown what the destination of the shuttle is.
Page 245: A shuttle explodes on lift-off on this page, killing all 34 instances of SCP-XXXX-1 on-board. The incident is observed to be a terrorist attack, and it appears that the motive for the terrorists is religious in nature.
Page 277: An artificially intelligent computer showing a mental capacity equal to if not greater than any given individual instance of SCP-XXXX-1 is built on this page.
Page 289: A fatal airborne disease that kills affected instances of SCP-XXXX-1 within ten minutes of contraction is present on this page. By page 290, it has subsided.
Page 290: Instances of SCP-XXXX-1 are recovering from the disease that affected the prior page. Similarly to page 31, this is one of the few pages in which all instances cooperate peacefully with each other. There is no record of violence or abuse on this page.
Page 331: The third depicted war occurs on this page. It appears to have commenced over religion. Weapons in use during the fight include firearms, aeroplanes, automobiles and a large, armoured vehicle that sprays what appears to be a deadly toxin in to the air. By page 332, the fighting has stopped and instances of SCP-XXXX-1 are recovering.
Page 344: Teleportation devices are in operation on this page, and are used by military forces.
Page 361: An anomalous entity resembling a cat is terrorising instances of SCP-XXXX-1 on this page. SCP-XXXX-2 is present and appears to have full knowledge of the entities' behaviour and abilities, suggesting that the creature was in SCP-XXXX-2's possession at one point. It is currently unknown as to how the entity escaped.
Page 362: The entity referred to on page 361 has not yet been recaptured by SCP-XXXX-2 forces, and further anomalous instances appear to be free of containment. Most anomalous instances are hostile towards SCP-XXXX-1.
Page 363: The entities referred to on pages 361 and 362 have not yet been recaptured by SCP-XXXX-2 forces, and further anomalous instances appear to be free of SCP-XXXX-2's possession. SCP-XXXX-1's whereabouts on this page are unknown, although it is likely that they have all either been evacuated to a safe-zone or are dead.
Page 364: The entities referred to on pages 361, 362 and 363 are still present, although there is no sign of SCP-XXXX-1 or SCP-XXXX-2. Buildings and vehicles are not in use, and show signs of late decay. This remains the case up until page 378, where SCP-XXXX ends.
Addendum XXXX-01: The following are a series of interactions between researchers and SCP-XXXX:
Supervisor/s Involved: Dr. ███ ████████
Time: ██:██
Date: █/█/██
Details: Dr. ███ ████████ opened SCP-XXXX onto page 33, and used a 3B pencil to draw what he later described to be a lawnmower. Instances of SCP-XXXX-1 seemed to show interest in the item before it was completed, suggesting that instances can observe objects as they are being drawn. Upon completion of the image, members of SCP-XXXX-1 proceeded to inspect it, with most instances showing physical signs of distress and fear. Following observation, Dr. ███ ████████ continued on through SCP-XXXX's pages, observing that instances of SCP-XXXX-1, from page 34 through 229, appeared to treat SCP-XXXX-2 as some form of deity.Despite the fact that this homage to Dr. ███ ████████'s drawing seems to subside completely by page 229, its effects are noticeable throughout the entirety of SCP-XXXX, with it changing the course of SCP-XXXX-1's timeline.
Supervisor/s Involved: Dr. █████ ██████
Time: ██:██
Date: █/█/██
Details: Dr. █████ ██████ opened SCP-XXXX onto page 1 and used a HB pencil to draw what he later described to be SCP-███. Upon completion of the image, the natural environment depicted on page 1 began to distort, with Dr. █████ ██████'s drawing proceeding to violently [DATA REDACTED] all instances of SCP-XXXX-1 present. Following observation, Dr. ███ ████████ continued on through SCP-XXXX, only to reveal that all signs of life, excluding the illustration of SCP-███, were absent from all pages following page 1.
Dr. ███ ████████ used an eraser to remove his depiction of SCP-███, and this allowed instances of SCP-XXXX-1 to return. All pages beyond page 1 returned to their prior state. Behaviour of SCP-XXXX-1 at this point did not indicate in any way that the event had ever occurred, suggesting that when an item is erased, it no longer becomes part of the overall scene, thus essentially having never existed on or beyond the page it was erased from.
Supervisor/s Involved: Dr. ████ ███
Time: ██:██
Date: █/█/██
Details: Dr. ████ ███ opened SCP-XXXX onto page 200 and used a 1B pencil to draw what he later described to be a spider roughly twice the size of an instance of SCP-XXXX-1. Upon completion of the image, panic appeared to arise in SCP-XXXX-1, with several instances running out of view and others attempting to attack Dr. ████ ███'s drawing. After a period of observation lasting roughly 3 minutes, Dr. ████ ███ noted that SCP-XXXX-2 arrived onto the scene, and spent the next 11 minutes attempting to immobilise and capture the entity, eventually succeeding before storing it in the back of an armoured truck and leaving. Following this experiment, many project members made their discomfort known concerning the foundation's approach to ethicacy during such interactions. Due to this, further experimentation that may result in any harm coming to SCP-XXXX-1 has been postponed.
Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is currently housed at Site-42, in Storage House 37. Any unusual behaviour relating to SCP-XXXX must be recorded and reported to the Project Manager as soon as possible. Due to high quantities of lethal radiation being present in SCP-XXXX's containment cell, any personnel entering the enclosure are authorised to wear protective hazmat clothing. As of Experiment XXXX-15, any and all experimentation involving SCP-XXXX is postponed until further notice. SCP-XXXX must be restrained at all times.
Personnel are not advised to interrupt SCP-XXXX when it is performing Pro-1 activities as this may trigger Pro-2 activities. Unless permission is granted by the Site Director, SCP-XXXX must not be activated.
All territory within a 500 metre radius of SCP-XXXX-1 is to be patrolled and maintained under the semblance of a state-owned nature preserve, and both SCP-XXXX-1 and SCP-XXXX-2 are to remain under constant surveillance from observation post XXXX-A at all times.
Description: SCP-XXXX is an ellipsoidal artefact of unknown origin comprising of aluminium, scandium and steel plating, with a series of planes and fins affixed to the lower hull. The object measures 5.8 metres in length, 1.5 metres in width and 1.7 metres in height, with three acrylic plastic lenses mounted to the forefront. A collection of four steel beams, running down the full length of the object's underside, lead to a wide opening in the rear from which eight flexible, rubber limbs protrude. Studies into SCP-XXXX's current condition and material composition suggest the object to be roughly half a century old.
SCP-XXXX's anomalous qualities may be summarised as such:
- When exposed to a surge of at least 12.8 volts of electricity, SCP-XXXX will engage in a kind of buoyancy and lift off the ground. Mechanical sounds emanating from SCP-XXXX will suggest the movement of pistons with studies conducted thus far, however, suggesting the hull of SCP-XXXX to be completely empty (See Experiment Log XXXX-05).
- SCP-XXXX displays an ability to detect significant supplies of carbon allotrope within a radius of approximately five kilometres. When possible, SCP-XXXX will apply its tendrils in order to collect this carbon by a means of magnetic [REDACTED] and insert it into a small, concealed funnel leading down into SCP-XXXX's interior (This process will hereafter be referred to as Pro-1). The strength displayed by SCP-XXXX's limbs during this process should not be possible given their structural condition. Pro-1 activities result in the emission of lethal radiation as well as the production of a bright yellow light.
- In the event that SCP-XXXX is not capable of obtaining carbon in its purest form, it will proceed to dismantle and convert the nearest complex organism into a usable fuel source (This process will hereafter be referred to as Pro-2). In some circumstances, Pro-2 activity has been observed to last as long as two hours. When involving animals, such a process normally has two main stages: Stage one involves a mixture of GABA1, glycine and ███████, a curare alkaloid, being introduced into the victim's body; This causes paralysis, and hallucinations may manifest. Stage two involves a complete disassembly of the subject's body followed by its conversion into energy.
- SCP-XXXX's preferred form of pure carbon is diamond, yet in any case SCP-XXXX shows a distinct capability to extract much more energy from carbon-based minerals as is currently known to be possible for a machine of its scale.
- SCP-XXXX, when supplied with at least 0.3g of diamond, will commence in emitting a series of LF2 radio transmissions by an unknown means (See Experiment Log XXXX-08). Research is ongoing into how this is possible for a device of SCP-XXXX's size.
The purpose behind any radio waves transmitted by SCP-XXXX appears to be that of communication with an unknown entity SCP-XXXX-1 (See Addendum XXXX-B). These messages are often quite short, consisting of only 200-250 bits of information at a time. On █/█/██, over the course of Experiment XXXX-15, SCP-XXXX ceased transmitting completely and went into a form of deactivation. Up until this point, it has shown no signs of reanimation (See Addendum XXXX-C).
Addendum XXXX-A: The following are a series of significant interactions between researchers and SCP-XXXX (Future experimentation involving SCP-XXXX is awaiting approval):
Time: ██:██
Date: █/█/██
Details: 10kg of graphite was poured onto the ground of SCP-XXXX's containment unit prior to the experiment. SCP-XXXX was then supplied with a direct stream of 12.9 volts of electricity for a period of seven seconds. SCP-XXXX showed signs of powering up, and after approximately five minutes proceeded to engage in Pro-1 activities. Following this, SCP-XXXX remained stationary for approximately two minutes before rotating in the direction of the observation booth from where researchers surveyed, and began to violently strike the glass with it's tendrils for thirty seconds before powering down. The booth underwent no serious damage before SCP-XXXX lost power, although precautions have been taken and further experimentation of SCP-XXXX will be remotely monitored via camera.
Time: ██:██
Date: █/█/██
Details: A three year old specimen of an English oak tree (Quercus robur) was placed onto the ground of SCP-XXXX's containment unit prior to the experiment. SCP-XXXX was then supplied with a direct stream of 13.4 volts of electricity for a period of eight seconds. SCP-XXXX showed signs of powering up, and after approximately seven minutes proceeded to engage in Pro-2 activities involving the Oak tree specimen. During the procedure, efforts were made to observe the interior of SCP-XXXX's hull via x-ray; No inner mechanical functions could be recognised.Following Pro-2 activities and a three minute dormant period, SCP-XXXX proceeded to engage in striking the walls of its containment unit. This behavior lasted for twenty seconds before SCP-XXXX powered down.
Time: ██:██
Date: █/█/██
Details: A seven year old specimen of a domestic dog (Canis lupus familiaris) was placed into SCP-XXXX's containment unit prior to the experiment. SCP-XXXX was then supplied with a direct stream of 13.1 volts of electricity for a period of eight seconds. SCP-XXXX showed signs of powering up, and after approximately six minutes proceeded to engage in Pro-2 activities involving the domestic Dog. Over the course of the procedure, a series of EMP3 waves were directed towards SCP-XXXX in an attempt to disrupt the Pro-2 activity. This failed, although SCP-XXXX did display considerably increased hostility following the procedure. When Pro-2 activities were complete, SCP-XXXX did not show any signs of dormancy as it had done in previous investigations, instead proceeding to immediately strike the door of its containment unit. After a period of approximately ten seconds, SCP-XXXX succeeded in breaching containment and began to perform Pro-2 activities involving three researchers simultaneously. SCP-XXXX lost power soon after this, and all injured personnel were immediately given medical attention. There were two casualties.
Time: ██:██
Date: █/█/██
Details: 0.4g of diamond was poured onto the ground of SCP-XXXX's containment unit prior to the experiment. SCP-XXXX was then supplied with a direct stream of 12.8 volts of electricity for a period of six seconds. SCP-XXXX showed signs of powering up, and after approximately two minutes proceeded to engage in Pro-1 activities. Following this, SCP-XXXX remained dormant for approximately fifteen minutes before beginning to shake violently and discharge bright yellow beams from its three front lenses. An armed unit was stationed outside of the enclosure and, in an effort to dissipate SCP-XXXX's energy supply, three D-class personnel were placed inside its containment cell. After a period of approximately six minutes, SCP-XXXX began to emit a series of low frequency radio waves. These signals were quickly intercepted and disrupted by foundation equipment before SCP-XXXX proceeded to attack and violently [DATA EXPUNGED] several D-class subjects. SCP-XXXX lost power after roughly seven minutes, and any severely injured D-class personnel were terminated from the project.
Time: ██:██
Date: █/█/██
Details: 0.3g of diamond was poured onto the ground of SCP-XXXX's containment unit prior to the experiment. SCP-XXXX was then supplied with a direct stream of 12.9 volts of electricity for a period of five seconds. SCP-XXXX showed signs of powering up, and after approximately two minutes proceeded to engage in Pro-1 activities. Following this, and a brief dormancy period of thirty seconds, SCP-XXXX began to produce a series of low frequency radio signals.Following a period of broadcasting, SCP-XXXX proceeded to engage in striking the door of its containment unit. This was followed quickly by a class-C containment breach which took approximately seventeen minutes to bring under control and resulted in the deaths of twenty-seven Site-42 personnel. Following SCP-XXXX's losing power on this date, further attempts to re-energise the object have failed. As far as is known, SCP-XXXX appears to be experiencing some form of long-term shutdown phase, and displays no signs of coming out of it (See Addendum XXXX-C).
Request permission to introduce restraints into SCP-XXXX's enclosure to ensure staff safety,
Dr. ███ ████, █/█/██
[PERMISSION GRANTED]
Addendum XXXX-B: The following is a detailed account of SCP-XXXX-1 and SCP-XXXX-2:
Following its discovery on █/█/██, SCP-XXXX-1's activity has been studied in the hopes of finding further connections between it and SCP-XXXX.
Description: SCP-XXXX-1 is an ellipsoidal machine of unknown origin and is probably comprised of aluminium, scandium and steel plating, similarly to SCP-XXXX. The object measures 30 metres in height and 10 metres in width with a collection of three 20-metre-long appendages affixed to its surface. A large aperture exists on the underside of SCP-XXXX-1's hull. SCP-XXXX-1 has remained stationary for as long as it has been known to exist.
SCP-XXXX-1 was discovered when a sequence of brief ELF4 radio transmissions directed towards the facility were traced back to its location. SCP-XXXX-1 levitates by an unknown means above a boreal forest located roughly forty kilometres south of ███████, Norway. In studying the site, the foundation has discerned the area to be a primary diamond deposit and SCP-XXXX-1 has been observed to quarry it periodically.
There are two main processes by which SCP-XXXX-1 collects minerals onsite, the first necessitating the use of its three arms. This activity involves SCP-XXXX-1 moving its appendages briskly in a rising motion, creating a rising column of air that drags anything on the ground upward and into the object's aperture. This operation, while rarely witnessed, has proven to be extremely effective in scarring the landscape.
The second method by which carbon allotrope is harvested involves the use of SCP-XXXX-2. There have been, as of the most recent count, seventy-three (73) instances of SCP-XXXX-2 catalogued with each one bearing a remarkable resemblance to SCP-XXXX both in appearance and behaviour. SCP-XXXX-2 takes part in a quarrying procedure bi-daily; This requires a swarm of 20-30 instances descending from SCP-XXXX-1 and scavenging the immediate vicinity for sources of pure carbon, mostly diamond.
Due to the hostility that SCP-XXXX-2 displays towards humans, an observation post has been erected in order to view SCP-XXXX-1's activity from a safe distance.
Addendum XXXX-C: The following is an incident report filed on █/█/██:
Item/s involved: SCP-XXXX, SCP-XXXX-1
Date: █/█/██
Location: Sector 20, Site-42, ████
Details: At 07:23, a series of brief and frequent ELF transmissions directed towards Site-42 were detected. The signal was quickly intercepted and traced back to SCP-XXXX-1. The Project Manager was made aware and personnel assigned to study SCP-XXXX-1 were informed. Following this, the situation was determined to be under control and no protocols were initiated.
At 07:40, SCP-XXXX began to show its first signs of reanimation since Experiment XXXX-15. An armed unit was called to remain outside of SCP-XXXX's enclosure and three class-D personnel were sent into the containment cell. A second wave of ELF transmissions arrived at the facility, disrupting foundation equipment, and SCP-XXXX escaped from its constraints; Site-42 personnel were advised to evacuate the facility at this time. SCP-XXXX proceeded to ignore class-D staff within its environment, instead opting to strike the door of its unit.
At 07:46, SCP-XXXX-1's transmissions were cut off and SCP-XXXX was deactivated before a class-C containment breach could commence.
On █/█/██, SCP-XXXX was discovered by field containment teams in disrepair and decrepitude on the side of a dirt road - 157 kilometres from SCP-XXXX-1. Why? Why was SCP-XXXX found so far from its presumed source? We don't find any instances of SCP-XXXX-2 wandering off and losing power miles from the site, heck, they don't seem to lose power at all! What's so special about XXXX?
We've been monitoring SCP-XXXX-1's quarry for months now and do you know what we've found? It's depleting. Yea, big shock there! The area's running out of materials to excavate; The boys and I think SCP-XXXX was a kind of scout sent out to find another vein. Now we get an explosion of queries, weeks later, from SCP-XXXX-1; "Where are you?", "Have you found anything yet?" - That's what this was about! That's why XXXX suddenly woke up!
Sooner or later, SCP-XXXX-1 is going to run out of minerals to quarry. If SCP-XXXX's Pro-2 activity is anything to go by, I don't think we want anyone to be around when that happens.
Dr. ████ ███████, █/█/██
Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is located at Site-405 which has been constructed around it. Entrances into the play area must be kept locked and guarded at all times and attempts made by civilians to enter Site-405 should be deterred. It is advised that restraints be applied to SCP-XXXX before the beginning of every testing session.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a piece of recreational equipment located in ████ Playpark, ████, Northern Ireland, and design features indicate its target demographic to be between the ages of four (4) and eight (8). SCP-XXXX consists of a paved path similar in layout to a traditional hopscotch court, each tile engraved with a number ranging from 1 to 25. The path ends with a rotating platform mounted on which is a clockwork mechanism constructed mainly out of plywood and shaped to caricature a wolf (Hereafter referred to as SCP-XXXX-1), positioned to face the path by default. SCP-XXXX-1 shows significant signs of wear, especially around the joints of its legs.
To date, SCP-XXXX-1 has only ever entered a state of activity when voice-activated by an individual standing on the first engraved tile, and there is no known way of activating SCP-XXXX-1 by any other means. Voice-activation requires that something similar to the phrase "What's the time, Mr. Wolf?" is spoken, and SCP-XXXX-1 has proven to recognize almost every language in testing so far (For an unknown reason, the item does not respond to phrases spoken in Portuguese or Spanish). Upon activation, wooden mechanical sounds will begin to emanate from SCP-XXXX-1 and the platform will rotate 180°, turning SCP-XXXX-1 away from the "player". This initialization process lasts approximately half a minute and ends when SCP-XXXX-1 responds through what is possibly a pre-recorded message that has been distorted to sound deeper than a human voice. SCP-XXXX-1's response can be one of two things:
- SCP-XXXX-1 calls a clock time (E.g. "4 o'clock")5. The player must then take that many steps out and speak them as they go (E.g. "One, two, three, four"). The player must then ask the question again.
- SCP-XXXX-1 calls "Dinner time", at which point the platform will quickly turn back to its default position and SCP-XXXX-1 will stand up. SCP-XXXX-1 will leap from the platform and begin to pursue the player with speed and agility comparable to that of an adult female Eurasian wolf, and SCP-XXXX-1 will only return to its position on the platform until either it has killed the player or ten minutes have passed since the chase began. If the player leaves the path or refuses to move forward at any point before "Dinner time" is called, SCP-XXXX-1 will prematurely leave the platform and will only return once the player has been killed.
Once caught, SCP-XXXX-1 will proceed to tear the player's body apart and devour it in chunks. As a result, smoke emerges from SCP-XXXX-1's body through its ears, nostrils, mouth, and anus. If any non-player attempts to interrupt this "feeding" process, SCP-XXXX-1 will attempt to kill them.
SCP-XXXX was brought to the foundation's attention following reports of missing children and a "wooden wolf" in the surrounding area. Upon discovery, the playground was in a dilapidated state and SCP-XXXX-1 was surrounded by scattered ash and wood chippings. The area was bought out and testing immediately began on SCP-XXXX.
