Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX and its related documents are held within a standard storage locker in Site-19. When taking SCP-XXXX out of containment or otherwise handling SCP-XXXX, staff are required to use a layer of protection; such as a pair of long cuff latex gloves. In the case of unintentional contact with SCP-XXXX, the affected area is to be amputated and allowed to reattach to the subject's body via teleportation by SCP-XXXX.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a red ball, approximately 32 centimeters in diameter, 3 kilograms in weight and made of an unknown, rubber-like material. On the front face of the object the words "YOU ARE HERE" are printed in large, white block lettering.

When coming into contact with human cells, living or nonliving, SCP-XXXX will engulf them at a rate of approximately 4 square centimeters per second. When the human cells are completely engulfed by SCP-XXXX,1 they will instantly teleport to a new location. The number of cells being engulfed by SCP-XXXX can range anywhere from a single cell to a whole human body.

Based on experimentation,2 researchers believe that the original design of SCP-XXXX is meant to teleport subjects based upon Maslow's hierarchy of needs: for example, if the subject were ill, that would apply to their most basic needs, and so they would likely teleport to a hospital. However, when applied to human cells separated from their original body, they are either reattached to their original body if they're still living, or if they're dead, they disappear without a trace.

SCP-XXXX-1 is a non-anomalous magnum revolver and has only gained SCP status through its association with SCP-XXXX. Given the documentation it is to be believed that SCP-XXXX-1 was the weapon used by the creator of SCP-XXXX to kill themselves.3
