Item #: SCP-2684

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-2684 is to be held in his sound-proof, guarded padded cell at Site-██ at all times and should under no circumstances leave. Meals are to be brought three times a day. All requests are either granted or denied by Dr. Schroeder. SCP-2684 is to be questioned daily and solely by Dr. Schroeder, equipped with a portable alarm button.

Description: SCP-2684 is a human male of Asian origin. His age, as well as name, origin or any biographic information is unknown. On ██/██/20██, he was found in the house of █████████ █████, claiming to be him.

SCP-2684's mind and memories change daily. After sleeping several hours, SCP-2684 will take on the identity of a random staff member of the Foundation, either Class A, B, C or even Class D and E personnel, both male and female. The identity of deceased employees have currently not been taken over by SCP-2684. The individuals in question are in no way affected by this SCP-2684's condition.

When SCP-2684 wakes up, he is convinced that he is being imprisoned by mistake and has access to all memories that the individual he "became" until the exact day before his sleep. This is also the case for intelligence, linguistic skills and other mental characteristics. Over the course of a normal sleep cycle, SCP-2684 will undergo a mental relapse to a blank state, and forget all memories associated with prior identities. MRI scans show that his brain structure changes on a cellular level, initiated by entering REM-sleep. This takes a minimum of 7 hours. Both SCP-2684 and the cycle he undergoes seem to be unaffected by all consciousness-altering substances.

Despite not changing his physical appearance, SCP-2684 will see himself as who he think he is. For example, he will see a woman if he think he is a woman.

Scar tissue surrounding the parietal bones in SCP-2684's cranium were found, aligning perfectly with the sagittal, frontal, squamous and occipital borders. It appears that very fine, surgical instruments were used, suggesting that SCP-2684's condition may have been artificially produced, presumably by [DATA EXPUNGED].

SCP-2684 has assumed the identity of several Foundation members possessing highly confidential and hazardous information, such as [DATA EXPUNGED]. There have been instances where SCP-2684 knew about his own existence and condition, and reacted in most ways confused, violent and even suicidal.
