Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be secured inside a small solid steel protective case and be kept in storage. Tests and recordings of SCP-XXXX are only to be done upon approval of the lead researcher. Experiments conducted on SCP-XXXX must be done in a sound-proofed room which exudes sound no higher than twenty (20) decibels.
In addition, any audio recordings which are made during testing must be listened to by a D-class subject in a sound-proof room prior to examination by research personnel. If the subject goes missing while listening to the recording then it is to be declared unsafe for analysis and destroyed.
Any personnel who comes into contact with SCP-XXXX must be administered class B amnesiacs within one (1) hour of being exposed and put on psychiatric watch for seven (7) days. Personnel who clear standard psychiatric exams after this period will be allowed to return to staff without incident.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a worn leather bound journal recovered by agent ██████ after investigation of a missing persons report in █████, ███████. The contents of SCP-XXXX change each time it is open but is always about the final five (5) days prior to the writers death. In addition, SCP-XXXX also becomes increasingly difficult to view with each entry. Once a subject makes physical contact with SCP-XXXX the subject will be met with SCP-XXXX-1.

SCP-XXXX-1 is a humanoid silhouette which will start to reenact the story as it is read upon appearance. Furthermore, it will continue to re-enact the story until the subject loses contact with SCP-XXXX, becomes incapable of reading, or until after entry 5 is read.
Addendum:
None of the subjects which have read the final entry of SCP-XXXX have ever been found. Additionally, all information related to those missing, including names, photos, physical traits and identification numbers, have either become obscured or illegible. It is for this reason that Foundation personnel are strictly prohibited from reading SCP-XXXX.
Idea: Subject is told to pick up SCP-XXXX and just hold on to it. Face appears and then disappears. (Stays in wait expectantly?)
Idea: Subject told to read contents of the book aloud. All researchers involved in the experiment suffer from same effects before going missing.
Idea: Subject reads journal entry to the end (not sure how, yet). Person who wrote the journal entry is found a week later. Multiple instances of SCP-XXXX-1 surround subject and start to "read" their entry. Subject is haunted by this until he commits suicide.
Problem: gives too much away?
Idea:
Addition (by Voct): Face appears to people who are lost, transports them to where they were originally from, but makes them still think that they are lost or, alternatively, Face wants to be found, but in trying to be found, makes other people think/become lost (original idea).
Addition: Keep seperate from SCP-920
Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be held in a fully furnished 10mx10m room with an adjacent bathroom and fully equipped kitchen. SCP-XXXX shall remain observed by two (2) security cameras located in the bathroom and living area at all times. Food will be restocked and the living quarters cleaned once per week. Requests for additional food or items for SCP-XXXX must be approved by a level-3 or higher before being granted.
All persons entering the living quarters of SCP-XXXX must wear a hazmat suit to be disposed upon exit.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a 1.79m tall grossly unkempt humanoid with an average build and an extremely neglected appearance. On its person is:
- One half of a ring
- A cloak made of bear skin
- A 1.24m long beard with over thirty-seven (37) identified species of insect
- Sixteen (16) known diseases
- Two (2) Cecropis daurica
Any and all attempts to clean SCP-XXXX have failed as all dirt, hair, and grime is grown back instantaneously. SCP-XXXX has claimed that this is because he can only be cleaned "after another █ years" but has resisted disclosing why. SCP-XXXX has proven to be both physically and mentally healthy despite its abnormal appearance. Many D-class express revulsion is extremely grotesque to look at and many subjects have expressed revulsion at looking at him (see addendum 1-1 through 1-3).
In addition to his appearance, SCP-XXXX is also able to remove a seemingly unlimited amount of gold from its coat. Any attempts by subjects or foundation officials to either remove the coat or gold from its pocket have yielded no results.
Addendum: Due to the recent unacceptable losses (see incident 1) future experiments to retrieve gold from SCP-XXXX's coat are hereby ceased.
Interview with Bearskin. He proves to be extremely polite and likeable, reveals a tad about his bet but refuses to reveal much.
Short excerpt of an experiment gone wrong where a D-class stuck his hand into SCP-XXXX's jacket and gets bit by a poisonous spider. Eventually dies.
Bearskin finally succeeds in his bet and is broken out of the SCP Foundation's containment cell by the "cloven foot." Bearskin is unable to be found (presumably because he is cleaned up) and two researchers who were supposed to watch him end up hanging themselves.

Description:
Once, a long time ago, Before the days of our kind there was a grand civilization. So great and powerful was this civilization that it spanned the entire globe and ruled it in peace and prosperity for three thousand years. But as you know, nothing lasts forever, and this mighty empire is no different. For, one day, demons started to appear in the world and within three days they slaughtered every last man, woman, and child with the exception of six legendary heroes. You should know these well, for their names were The Knight, The Orchad, The Enigma, The Prideful One, and The exile. The Knight, who was always good and the sworn protector of all man kind swore a vow to rid the world of the demons. He fought for four days without rest or food or drink. On the first day of his quest, The Knight slew all the demons in the west. On his way to the east, he saw the Prideful One and begged for her to give him aid in his fight. But the Prideful One thought all things beneath her and so refused. The second day of his quest The Knight slew all the demons in the east. On his way to the south he saw The Enigma and begged him to give aid in the fight. But the enigma knew all the secrets of the world and, because of that, refused. On the third day of his quest, The Knight slew all the demons in the south. On his way to the North, he saw The Orchad and begged for her to give him aid in his fight. But The Orchad was so concerned with regrowing the grass and trees and crops in the world that she refused. Finally, on the fourth day, the Knight was was overpowered by the demons and torn apart Until only his head remained. It was at this point that he saw The Exile who was watching him from a distance. The Knight begged with all his heart that the Exile aid him in his fight and The Exile, who had been shunned by all creatures both living and dead was surprised. Never before had anyone willingly spoken to him and much less had they talked to him as an equal and now, because of this one insignificant moment, he had gained a peace which he never knew. Astonished and grateful to the Knight beyond words, The Exile said to him "Knight, you have done me a kindness with which I can never repay but allow me to fulfill your wish and help you in your quest." Upon finishing the sentence The Exile gave The Knight half of his body to restore The Knight's power. The Knight then thanked The Exile and went off to destroy the rest of the demons. On the fifth day, The Knight slew all the demons in the world but it was not without cost. Fighting all the evils by oneself, although noble, will eventually destroy a man and so it was with The Knight. So great was his fighting and mighty the burden that he became overwhelmed with great misery and agony the likes of which man has never known. For three days he sobbed with no end until finally The Exile found him once more. In a fit of despair and rage The Knight said "I would destroy the world to relieve me of this woe for but a minute." The Exile saw him then and pitied him. In response the Exile said "give me your woe, my friend, I will gladly suffer it for one such as you." Now, many will say that the Exile was foolish for making this promise so lightly for he knew that it would doom him to an eternity of relentless suffering the likes of which we have never known but it is said that as soon as The Knight agreed, the Exile smiled for the first time in all his life for he had gained something which he never thought possible. Trust in another person. It is said that, if you ever find the exile, that underneath the pain and sorrow and misery which has tortured his person for countless years, you can still see a smile curve on his lips.

Description: The idea is based on the Greek fates. Different sets of fates are in control of different parts of the life/death of people in the world/Mediterranean. World population increases have made it so the fates can not keep up with the amount of threads needing to be cut which has lead to much more suffering before death. The Foundation finds the Fates. They should be miserable, overworked, and cryptic.
