SCP-XXXX, introduced at Site-██

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a vacuum sealed cylindrical container measuring 2.44 meters tall with a diameter of 0.61 meters. Container is to be comprised of bullet-proof glass 4 centimeters in thickness. SCP-XXXX is to be suspended approximately 1.22 meters from the roof of its container by nylon twine. Nylon twine must be replaced every 2 years. Full site lockdown required when handling SCP-XXXX, with no less than 4 personnel inside the containment area at all times during the process. SCP-XXXX is to be monitored at all times for changes in movement. Computer sensors within the container are to measure any movement down to the nearest micrometer. In the event of seismic activity, immediate observation inside SCP-XXXX’s containment area is required to ensure the protection of the object and the facility. Clearance level 4 or higher is required to enter SCP-XXXX’s containment area.

Description: SCP-XXXX appears to be a plummet weighing approximately 0.91 kilograms, and is approximately 15 centimeters in length. The object has a brass coloring with a black pointed tip. SCP-XXXX was found on a construction site in ██████, Indiana in 2007. Object caused the collapse of an on-site apartment complex due to a civilian worker attempting to remove SCP-XXXX from the ceiling of a ninth floor hallway. Incident resulted in a total of ██ deaths. SCP-XXXX was then carefully removed. Collapse was blamed on faulty structural support.

SCP-XXXX was delivered to Site-██. Request for testing on SCP-XXXX was approved. SCP-XXXX removed from the facility immediately following the partial destruction of Site-██ (Refer to Addendum: XXXX-A). SCP-XXXX was later moved to Site-76. New containment procedures are put into effect for SCP-XXXX.

Addendum: XXXX-A: After given the green light for testing SCP-XXXX, Doctors ████ Farsen and ██████ Hensley entered SCP-XXXX’s containment area. The two doctors thoroughly examined the plummet before Dr. Farsen reached out and slightly pushed SCP-XXXX. The object swung slightly back and forth before a deep rumble echoed through the entire facility. SCP-XXXX then returned to its motionless state. Dr. Farsen repeated the action, pushing harder than before. SCP-XXXX swung again, however the rumble was now more prominent.
Dr. Hensley then grabbed SCP-XXXX and pulled it back far before releasing it. The facility then shifted violently. Multiple level containment breaches recorded during event. On-site personnel reported severe structural damage to several areas of the facility. After further examination of Site-██, study indicated that the entire facility at the peak of the event had rotated approximately ██ degrees into the ground.
Upon securing breached SCP’s, staff went to SCP-XXXX’s containment area. The room was lined with fractures from floor to ceiling. SCP-XXXX was hanging static in the center of the room. Both doctors were removed from the area and sent in for questioning. The following written account is the conversation between the doctors and Site Director ███████ Fields.

S.D. Fields: “Alright, explain to me why the hell my facility is sinking into the ground and falling apart?”

Dr. Farsen: “Sir. It was SCP-XXXX. We gathered some information about its involvement with damaging the facility.”

S.D. Fields: “Care to elaborate?”

Dr. Hensley: “Of course, Sir. You see, as we were testing on SCP-XXXX, we noticed that moving it caused the entire facility move as well. Right before the major shift, I had moved SCP-XXXX approximately ██ degrees from its degree 0, or point of rest, which is th-.”

S.D. Fields: “The same amount the facility rotated, I take it. So you’re saying that any movement of SCP-XXXX is transferred to its surroundings?”

Dr. Farsen: “Precisely.”

S.D. Fields: “So, if someone were to take SCP-XXXX and say, hold it upside down, the facility would just roll over like a dog?”

Dr. Hensley: “Most unlikely. The facility would have certainly collapsed if SCP-XXXX were to have moved more than it did.”

S.D. Fields: “I see. O5 is going to rain hell on me for this, but this site is no longer able to tolerate the containment of SCP’s. I’ll see to it that Site-██ be permanently destroyed after all other SCP’s have been removed and accounted for. You are free to go.”

On ██/██/2009, Site-██ was cleared of all SCP activity and the on-site Omega Warhead was authorized for detonation. All SCP’s were relocated to other sites across the country. Further tests of SCP-XXXX are to be done off-site and must be authorized two weeks in advance.
