Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a standard secure locker at Site-19. Access to SCP-XXXX is limited and at the discretion of Senior Researchers on the project. Testing is restricted to a timeframe of no more than 10 (ten) hours, at risk of significant alterations to the current quantum state, and during this time the subject should be isolated from other personnel, except as required by testing parameters. Personnel transferring from SCP-XXXX to other projects may be provided with Class B amnestics on request.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a silver wristwatch with a white face approximately 3cm in diameter, not including the small knob protruding from one side. Inscribed on the back is an illegible maker's mark and a date in 19th century, presumably its date of manufacture. It is attached to a leather strap, which may be adjusted to fit. Testing concludes that all components of SCP-XXXX, including the interior clockwork, are of non-anomalous materials, and may be replaced with identical replacement parts without damaging its anomalous effects.

When SCP-XXXX is worn by a living humanoid and its clockwork manipulated via its dial/button, it creates a limited temporo-spatial anomaly with a range of no more than [REDACTED]. The subject is able to assume the place of the previous iteration of him/herself and alter the originating timeline, but becomes unable to remember what changes have been made as soon as they have taken effect. Objects transported with the subject appear to be unaffected, though testing continues as to whether this is, in fact, the case. Uncertainty about the status of the originating timeline and alterations that may or may not have been made has been shown to have a deleterious effect on the stability of test subjects, and repeated testing with the same subject is discouraged.
