Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is currently contained at Site-48 in a modified humanoid containment cell. Due to the severe damage to SCP-XXXX's respiratory system during initial containment, SCP-XXXX remains on artificial life support. The machinery responsible for automating SCP-XXXX’s respiratory system is to be inspected bi-weekly, and should any maintenance be required a temporary replacement must be activated.

SCP-XXXX is to be kept in an artificially simulated reality at all times. This is required to prevent SCP-XXXX from becoming aware of its current confinement and initiating a containment breach attempt. To prevent this outcome, SCP-XXXX’s simulation consists of a continuously repeating loop. When SCP-XXXX reaches the end of the simulation, an injection of Oros-Class Amnesiac is automatically administered and the simulation restarts. This ensures that SCP-XXXX has no recollection of the previous simulation, allowing the same simulation to be used indefinitely. While the use of Oros-Class Amnesiac has not been officially approved for use on vertebrates by the Ethics Committee, it has been permitted in this case due to its essential role in keeping SCP-XXXX unaware of its containment.

The effects of the Oros-Class Amnesiac used in SCP-XXXX's containment extend beyond memory loss. Oros-Class Amnesiac has been proven to temporarily disrupt the self-awareness of a subject's consciousness by obscuring and damaging their brain's neural pathways. However, this effect is only temporary. Immediately after an injection of Oros-Class Amnesiac, the subject's mind recognizes its own existence. This begins a process by which the mind reforms the neural pathways disrupted by the Oros-Class Amnesiac. The time required for this process to occur varies by subject. Current predictions suggest that within 38 hours of an Oros-Class Amnesiac injection, SCP-XXXX will regain complete self-awareness, body function, and memory. This will result in SCP-XXXX attempting to breach containment.

Previous simulations have resulted in unpredictable behavior from SCP-XXXX. Simulations logically applicable for an infinitely repeating loop, such as a simulation in which SCP-XXXX's experienced forward motion following a two-dimensional circular track, have been rejected by SCP-XXXX conscious. The rejection of a simulation can result in SCP-XXXX undergoing a False-Reality paradox and, as a result, an attempt to breach containment. It is theorized that as SCP-XXXX becomes self-aware, its mind rejects abstract simulations that do not correspond to its previous lived experience. As such, the current simulation SCP-XXXX experiences is compatible with selections of SCP-XXXX's memories and self-identity, particularly SCP-XXXX's role as a Researcher at [REDACTED]. This allows SCP-XXXX's cognitive functions and memory to reform partially before the injection of Oros-Class Amnesiac. Since the implementation of this simulation, instances of SCP-XXXX rejecting the simulation have fallen significantly.

Additionally, it has been determined that particular key-phrases or stories conveyed to SCP-XXXX in-simulation is effective at influencing the reformation of SCP-XXXX's neural pathways. Such prompts are used to prevent the emergence of specific memories as SCP-XXXX's mind reconstructs itself. This protocol, referred to as "seeding," is currently being used to direct SCP-XXXX’s attention in the simulation. The current iteration is included below

To ensure SCP-XXXX is unaware of its simulated environment, SCP-XXXX's memory will be tested preceding each loop of the simulation. Upon successful injection of Oros-Class Amnesiac, SCP-XXXX is expected to fail the test. Following this, SCP-XXXX will be given the correct answer. Should SCP-XXXX correctly answer the test following the simulation's loop, demonstrating a failed erasure of SCP-XXXX consciousness, it will be transferred to an emergency simulation. In this event, Foundation personnel must prepare for a possible containment breach. Researchers theorize that such an event would occur if SCP-XXXX's mind grew resistant to the effects of Oros-Class Amnesia.

We're so sorry, we know it hurts, but we take care of our own. It will be alright. You will be alright.
