Item #: SCP-2061

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: Item SCP-2061 should be kept in a steel chamber at all times. When personnel enter, they are to wear a gas mask at all times, until they have left. No fewer than two personnel can be in the chamber, and must go through an airlock before entering, or leaving. If personnel are to come in contact with SCP-2061, they are to be immediately quarantined, and sprayed with warm water for a minimum of twenty (20) minutes.

Description: SCP-2061 is a wooden plank recovered at a cabin in [REDACTED], Colorado. Measuring at 10 cm long, and 4 cm tall, it's actions still cannot be explained. Since it's recovery, SCP-2061 has excreted a yellow substance, that vaporizes after two (2) minutes. This substance can occur at any given time, but it seems to peak while personnel are present in the chamber. The substance is closely related to organic syrup, and can cause an individual who comes into contact with it to experience nausea, dizziness, diarrhea, and in extreme cases, [REDACTED].

Some personnel report smelling tree bark while outside of the chamber. There is no known reason why this can happen while not in containment, but it is proven safe, and there should not be a worry if one does smell it.

The chamber must be regularly cleaned each week to remove the substance from the walls and air.
