Dr. Isaac Holland examining SCP-001's main control room, circa. █/██/████

Item #: SCP-001

Object Class: Thaumiel

Special Containment Procedures: Due to the large amount of anomalous objects and entities that have damaged the inner mechanisms of SCP-001, multiple SCRNTN Reality Anchors have been constructed around the perimeter of SCP-001, along with a TX-1780 to ensure that SCP-001's temporal sequence is initiated without error from outside forces.

To prevent outside information of SCP-001 from spreading, all personnel assigned to contain and use SCP-001 are to live on-site, with all researchers wishing to leave the project requiring exposure to Class-F amnestics. The structure SCP-001 is situated under has been reconfigured to the on-site research and containment facility Site-00. The facility has been restructured as an standard office complex. In addition to Site-00's security, no fewer than 25 armed guards are to be present at all times to prevent unauthorized entry.

Description: SCP-001 is a rectangular concrete chamber measuring 3.4 meters in width, 2.1 meters in height, and 4.2 meters in length.

The doorway leading to SCP-001 is constructed of reinforced steel with an electromagnetic lock mechanism. The lock will not release unless ██ volts are applied in conjunction with a standard Level 5 security card. Failure to properly lock the doors to SCP-001 appears to result in an outward affect of it's normally interior anomalous properties, hence the addition of approx. ██ reality anchors.

SCP-001's anomalous properties are regulated remotely from a control room directly opposite to the object. Due to the extensive over-use of SCP-001, several components such as the electromagnetic lock may take several attempts to lock properly. Other sections of the device that have been disrupted include the TX-17801, and █ of the ██ SCRNTN Reality Anchors constructed around SCP-001.

SCP-001's anomalous properties manifest when any anomalous object or individual enters its interior dimensions, from there, Foundation personnel must seal the doorway shut before initiating SCP-001's temporal sequence directly from the control room. Once the sequence is initiated, the anomalous item or entity will be removed from our reality, and supposedly placed within an alternate universe similar to our own, wherein the timeline of that world is restructured to allow for the existence of that anomaly to become commonplace. Sentient entities placed within SCP-001, and the residents of the secondary universe are completely oblivious to the temporal manipulation and spacial displacement when transported to that dimension.

Researchers are only aware of SCP-001's anomalous events actually taking place through a detailed computer log within SCP-001's control room, which appears to be completely immune to the phenomenon. The log provides a detailed list of each object subjected to SCP-001, with a brief description of it's capabilities prior to it's subsequent termination.

Addendum 001-1: SCP-001 was originally discovered beneath an abandoned office complex in Whittier, Alaska. The building was closed off from public use following the 1964 earthquakes which collapsed 30% of the construct, resulting in the spread of asbestos throughout certain sections of the structure.

The property was only investigated by field operatives on the █/██/████ when a string emails were sent to the Site-01's secure server room containing heavy references to SCP-001. Tracing the IP address of the email lead to the derelict building; which, according to leasing records, was previously owned by a small tech company known as Prometheus Labs. The following is a list of messages received from the location:

Don't open the box.

Please don't open the box.

You know what will happen, don't you? Of course not, nobody does. Stop.

Containing them is enough, don't murder them too. You monsters.

Не открыть ящик Пандоры.

Me and my team are leaving the project doc. If we had known what you intended to use this technology for, I assure you we would've pulled the plug right away. Good luck destroying the universe with your paradoxes, ass-holes.

Addendum 001-2: On the █/█/████ researchers discovered the following text was inputted into SCP-001's computer terminal:

I'm not sure I have enough time so I'll have to make this brief.

We should have listened to their cries.

We should've known that we weren't the only people who knew about this machine.

The GOC is leveling this whole building, taking hostages, forcing us to turn it on.

They're trying to put some kind of chair in it, I'm not sure they know the door isn't locke

No knowledge of who inputted said text has been discovered, and the accompanying text in SCP-001's neutralization log has led to an investigation into SCP-001's use history.
