Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be stored in a containment chamber, a minimum of 8m2 by 30m (19.7 ft2 by 98.4 ft), with concrete walls and floor at Site-103 Site-62. The walls should be lined with pressure sensors, at even intervals, and two thermal cameras are to be positioned on the two opposing walls and monitored remotely for any changes in surrounding temperature. The ceiling is to be fitted with 2 UV light emitters which are capable of imitating the daylight cycle of the current timezone. The floor is to be completely covered in SCP-XXXX-2, approximately 1m deep, so that a minimum of 0.5m of SCP-XXXX-2 is between SCP-XXXX and the concrete floor. Removal of SCP-XXXX from its containment chamber for testing purposes requires the approval of Dr. ████ or equivalent level 4 command personnel.

Description: SCP-XXXX resembles an English oak tree of the genus Quercus Robur, measuring approximately 28.89 meters high. The specimen is completely devoid of all colour and reflections, resulting in a deep black when viewed with the human eye. Infrared sensors indicates that the specimen is at a temperature of around 1.4 x 10-14 Kelvin, however this does not appear to effect the surrounding environment. Leaves and acorns are present on SCP-XXXX at all times, even in seasons when the species it resembles performs abscission. At the time of writing, the only substance known which can interact with SCP-XXXX is the soil within ~2m radius of the specimen (referred to as SCP-XXXX -2). Although thorough investigations have been conducted, researchers cannot identify any chemical differences between SCP-XXXX-2 and soil from the surrounding area.

SCP-XXXX absorbs all energy and matter, which means that any object which collides with the specimen is instantly removed without losing momentum. These properties closely resemble that of a black hole however, because of it's relatively low mass, SCP-XXXX does not have a significant gravitational pull. Because SCP-XXXX does not reflect any electromagnetic radiation, it is impossible to detect with current technology what is past the 'event horizon' of SCP-XXXX.

SCP-XXXX was first discovered in [DATA REDACTED], England, by Dr. ████ and MTF Theta-4 ("Gardeners") on ██ / ██ /████. A car containing 5 individuals collided with SCP-XXXX after losing control of the vehicle. After the crash, the vehicle had been cut apart and 4 of the passengers suffered severe disembodiment and [DATA EXPUNGED] before dying of blood loss. The survivor preceeded to contact the emergency services, which was when the call was intercepted by foundation personnel and the MTF was sent from Site-██. The survivor was administered class A amnesties and a cover story was created, before SCP-XXXX containment began.

Addendum XXXX - 01: After recovering SCP-XXXX from it's original location and SCP-XXXX was transport to Site-103, a small obsidian rock was discovered roughly 0.5m from the base of SCP-XXXX. The rock (referred to as SCP-XXXX-3) is inscribed with several Celtic runes and words. It transcribes as follows:

The discovery of SCP-XXXX-3 has now convinced Dr. ████ that SCP-XXXX is around 3000 years old, instead of the initial estimation of 700 years old. Removal of SCP-XXXX-3 from SCP-XXXX has also shown not to remove the anomalous qualities of SCP-XXXX.

Addendum XXXX - 02: Further discussion into the anomalous properties of SCP-XXXX by Dr. ███ and Prof. ███████ has resulted in SCP-XXXX being relocated to Site-62. This is due to the specimen's potential extra-dimensional capabilities and lack thereof of plant-based anomalous properties.
