The electrical components of SCP-XXXX

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: All electrical components of SCP-XXXX are to be demolished and Site-XXXX is to be constructed around the control room. The site will resemble a small office building for a genetic research company. Foundation researchers assigned to Site-XXXX are to wear uniforms that coincide with the fictional company that occupies the office building.

SCP-XXXX-1 is to be contained in Site-XXXX. Its containment zone is the room it was recovered in, as all attempts to move or relocate the subject have failed. Inside the room, a small airtight control station for the researchers is to be constructed.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a power transmission facility located in ██████, ████, United States of America. It was opened in 1983 and closed in 2001 after a serious incident resulted in the deaths of 4 staff members working at the facility at the time.

After this incident, the facility was completely isolated from the grid and had no electricity running through it. However, there was 2 electrocution deaths at the location as trespassers attempted to steal copper wire. After the local authorities investigated, they were unable to find a source of power. They called the US Department of Energy for assistance in the investigation.

On 07/██/20██, Field Agents ████ and ██████ posed as US Department of Energy employees and investigated the facility. A trap door was located during a search of the control room. Upon opening the trap door, a vertical tunnel was found going down approximately 7.5 metres before reaching a square room.

SCP-XXXX-1 was discovered in the room. It resembles a human male, suspected to be between 35-45 years of age. The subject was found laying on its back on a metal table, with its arms and legs strapped down using leather straps.

All efforts to relocate SCP-XXXX-1 or the table the entity rests on have failed. The table is permanently affixed to the ground and we have yet to successfully remove it. The straps used to hold SCP-XXXX-1 to the table have resisted many attempts to remove them.

Besides a heart, the entity has no human organs. The heart beats at a steady 101 BPM, and has never changed from that level. REVISION: see Test XXXX-1. Researchers have yet to determine how the heart is capable of beating.

Attached to the heart is a large electrical wire, which then travels along the floor and up through the ceiling. The cable was found soldered into the panel located inside the facility’s control room. It is assumed that the heart was what powered the transmission station during the 2 electrocution deaths. A reading of the cable determined it was outputting 2.5 megawatts. No further attempts to remove the cable from SCP-XXXX-1’s heart should be made (see Test XXXX-1).

Addendum XXXX-1: The demolition request for the electrical components of SCP-XXXX has yet to be determined. A large covered fence has been built surrounding SCP-XXXX to discourage trespassing. All trespassers are to be removed from the area and issued Class-B amnestics.

Test XXXX-1:

Date: 09/23/20██
Subject: D-17467
Procedure: D-17467 is instructed to put on a pair of rubber electrical gloves. He is then told to grab the electrical cable protruding from SCP-XXXX-1.
Results: A bright flash is seen from SCP-XXXX-1 and D-17467 drops to the floor. SCP-XXXX-1's heartbeat rose to a 140 BPM for 1 minute 30 seconds, then dropped to its original 101 BPM.
Analysis: No further efforts to remove the cable from SCP-XXXX-1 will be attempted as of 09/24/20██. -Senior Researcher █████
