SCP-2421
rating: 0+x

Item #: SCP-2421

Object Class: Euclid Keter

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-2124 is held in Sector 7, in a sound proof enclosure measuring 5 m x 10 m, a quarter of which is curtained off for the subject’s privacy. Furnishings are allowed within reasonable request, but must be approved by █████████ before being moved into the holding cell. SCP-2124 is allowed access to a television and DVD/CD player, as well as a video, music and literature catalogue provided the material is reviewed by █████████ beforehand. Any request for content that will allow the subject to learn another language should be promptly ignored. Until testing concludes whether or not SCP-2124 can remain active via written communication, access to writing material will also be strictly forbidden. Two guards must be stationed in the adjoining observation room at all times. Subject requires 3 meals a day, and snacks within reasonable request periods. Food must be placed in waiting room B through the slot located in waiting room A (see entry procedures).

Entry Procedures: Should SCP-2124 be required to speak with anyone, they must do so by entering through waiting room A and await clearance from two key cards given to guard staff on duty. Once SCP personnel is in waiting room A, SCP-2124 must be judged to be of no immediate threat before waiting room B is entered. Once SCP-2124's agreed compliance with the entrant is confirmed waiting room B may be opened.

Note: As we are currently unaware of how long SCP-2124 can remain active, the precise nature of this entry procedure must be followed to the letter. Attempting to interact with the subject without following the protocol stated above will result in immediate termination. Transporting SCP-2124 without proper authorization is strictly forbidden. At no point should SCP-2124 be transported without armed guards who have been briefed on containment procedure D.

Description: SCP-2124 is a twenty eight year old Caucasian man, standing 6’2, with a medium build of Irish decent. DNA samples and medical tests indicate SCP-2124 is human in all respects, despite the subject's abnormalities.

SCP-2124 is able to implant a suggestion within anyone capable of understanding the English language, should skin to skin contact be made with a subject. Once physical contact is made, the subjects enter what has been described as a “lucid dream like state”, where they are aware of the suggestion but feel the need to comply with it despite any negative connotations it may carry. Subjects who have had a suggestion implanted describe a “burning” and "intense, migraine like" sensation inside, which intensify the longer they fail to comply with the request. Medical testing suggests that although the Cerebellum (the part of the brain that governs motor control) remains unaffected during contact, activity to the Ventral tegmental area of basal ganglia (the part of the brain governing motivation) increases exponentially.

Incident Report 2124-02

SCP-2124 made physical contact with Dr. ████ during an examination. Earlier that day, SCP-2124 complained about breathing issues, and was escorted to the medical bay to undergo testing. Approximately three minutes into an examination, Dr. ████ attempted to locate the cause issue using his stethoscope. Upon placing it around the subjects chest, SCP-2124 put his hand on the doctors wrist, and moved it to where he was feeling discomfort. After gaining control of the doctors wrist for a prolonged period of time, he then questioned Dr. ████ what “the most sure fire way out of here” was. Upon hearing the query, the doctor advised SCP-2124 that he believed swapping clothes, and using his ID badge to exit the facility via gate E would be the "swiftest bet". When he believed the question was sufficiently answered, SCP-2124 placed his hand on the back of the doctors neck, advised him to give the subject his clothes and then “hide, like we’re playing a game”. Dr. ████ was discovered two hours later, in a medical locker located in the examination room.

Partial Transcript of Interview with Dr. ████:
Foreword: SCP-2124 escaped 4 hours before an interviewer had made contact with Dr. ████. Foundation medical staff agreed that it was more valuable to undergo a series of examinations, as the subject had a full understanding and recollection of the events prior. A video camera situated behind Dr. ████ provided visual records of the interview.

Interviewer: Can you state what exactly you suggested to him?

Dr. ████: I remember him asking me what the best method of escape was, and suggested we swap attire and he use my swipe card to exit the facility where medical waste was disposed.

Interviewer: Without insinuation, can you explain the thought process that went into knowingly aiding SCP-2124’s escape?

Dr. ████: To me, at that time, he wasn’t SCP-2124. It almost felt as if I was talking to a friend, like we were discussing hypotheticals as a joke.

Interviewer: And when he began to carry out your plan?

Dr. ████: There was nothing wrong with it. It was like a natural selection of events was occurring, and that this was something that had to happen.

Interviewer: Can you state what exactly you suggested to him?

Dr. ████: I remember him asking me what the best method of escape was, and suggested we swap attire and he use my swipe card to exit the facility where medical waste was disposed.

Interviewer: But you eventually resisted, correct?

Dr. ████: Yes.

Interviewer: Can you explain the process behind that decision?

Dr. ████: It happened when he issued the request that I hide from my coworkers. I’d seen him leave, and when I opened the locker, I noticed that it was filled with various items, which wouldn’t allow me to fit. I began taking the items out, one by one, and thinking to myself “I’m a fify-three year old man, what am I doing cramming myself into a locker?” I placed my hands on the side of the locker, and that’s when it hit me.

Interviewer: What did?

Dr. ████: An intense pain. Like there was glass under my skull. The more I began to question the logic of my decision the more intense the pain became. Every single solitary thought I had against the action made the pain worse, until I gave in.

Interviewer: And what happened when you gave in to the suggestion that you hide?

Dr. ████: Relief. Total, and absolute relief.

Incident Report 2124-03
Date: 23/08/2008
Location: Springfield, Illinois
SCP-2124 was captured in Springfield, Illinois on the evening of August 23rd, 2008 while in attendance of a public speech issued by █████████████ in relation to the ███████████████████████████████████████████████████████. Foundation personnel were able to apprehend SCP-2124 before he was able to make physical contact with █████████. Upon questioning, the subject was unwilling to give an account of why he was in attendance at the event, simply stating, “I just wanted to shake the man’s hand”.

Incident Report 2124-02
Date: 24/08/2008
Location: [DATA EXPUNGED]
While being transported to ████████, the foundation received a report that SCP-2124 had made physical contact with a member of the taskforce designated to apprehend him during a brief bathroom stop. During his initial debriefing, Agent ████████ stated that SCP-2124 made contact with Agent Mills via a head-butt while the subject was in handcuffs. As the taskforce began restrain SCP-2124 he was noted in saying, “your comrades, they aren’t who you think they are”. Upon hearing this, Agent Mills showed no signs of agitation, but was said to have a look as if he was “processing something”. Moments later, Agent Mills un-holstered his side arm, and emptied the contents of the weapon into three of his fellow agents. During the melee, SCP-2124 managed to pull the pin on a canister of tear gas that was attached to the agent’s tactical vest, before escaping in the ensuring firefight. Agent Mills was shot four times at center mass by Agent ████████, the later was noted as showing little to no signs of “taking any precautions to protect himself”.

Addendum 2124-D-01: As a result of the escape, Foundation security personnel created Containment procedure D. The process requires any security personnel coming in contact with SCP-2124 to be wearing full body protective covering, including, but not limited to: balaclava, gloves, and safety goggles, to avoid accident skin to skin contact. In addition to this, any personnel attempting to apprehend the subject is only allowed access to a single-fire weapon (in many cases a Foundation-issued Taser), and nothing else. In lieu of the cataclysmic events that could’ve preceded contact with █████████ we have decided to upgrade SCP-2124’s classification from Euclid to Keter.
