DrBeal "Floating Rock"
rating: 0+x

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Keter

Special Containment Procedures: minor containment site will include but not limited to the following:

  • Basic oceanic foundations made of aluminium-steel alloy supports.
  • Basic 5.5 cm stucco lined cement walls (rebar supported core)
    • 10X10 meter research room fitted for research and observation of SCP- (will include basic research and study equipment)
    • Any necessary living requirements (living quarters, mess hall, bathroom, ect. may include class:D quarters)
    • Any other necessary requirements for containment, communication, and research will be included for inefficient data is at hand for all requirements.

'Containment Process: Terminated' All personnel are to avoid SCP- by at least a .5 Km radius.

Description: Located at ██.██ Lat and ██.██ Lon (Bermuda Triangle). Depth (south to north): Approx fifteen (15) centimeters, Length (west to south): Approx twelve (12) centimeters, Height: Approx 8 centimeters. Appears as a grey metamorphic rock (Quarts like texture) suspended over water, any attempt to move SCP- results in no success. Side note: SCP- may be related to SCP-1995 .

SCP- is suspended in mid air approx two and a half meters (2.5) from the surface of the water, Note: the location of the stone remains unmoved from its first listed location.

lacks any level of radiation including any UV radiation cast from SCP-727-J . although peculiar that no radiation radiates off SCP acts as if it doesnt have a half life.

temperatures vary on time of day but is not effected on season. SCP- has high-temperatures of 60 degrees Celsius at the time of 18:35 and low-temperatures of 3 degrees Celsius at the time of 23:44, any attempt to heat or cool with known technology or elements has failed.

Any and all personnel that has come within 20 meters of the stone has suffered the following in order of a timely bases: Amnesia, Hysteria, Nightmares, Daymares (hallucinations), Coma, Seizures and/or heart attack all within a three and a half weeks (24.5 days), all victims are guaranteed death in a sleeping state (due to Coma)

(please note that the following audio to text logs are personal logs of Dr.██████, these are the only found personal logs of site█ research team)

Audio to text log #01: "Ok! so the date is ██/██/16 and we've finally arrived at the the site, it is all ocean here, all around, only about twenty meters from the underwater coral reef. so! i am Dr.██████ right now i am looking at the as of right now new SCP! Oh my i am so excited to study this floating rock!… we will begin research in around two hours after we first get settled in."

Audio to text log #02: "So! the day is the ██████ of ████ and we started research with the SCP to see if there is anything it reacts to. The first test was to see if it had any and if it did react to any level of radiation we have on hand and we got nothing! we got a rod of plutonium and shoved it on top of it and nothing happened, what a surprise! but what was a surprise was that it was as if there was no radiation coming off or getting absorbed, the Geiger never caught anything! looking into it we found out that the whole rock itself just doesn't care about what temperature it is, its always its own temperature. we will be bringing in gas torches and liquid nitrogen tomorrow luckily, it will definitely be easier to get a change of temperature from that than pulling in the toaster and fridge."

Audio to text log #02.5: "as i suspected, the moron broke the fridge."

Audio to text log #03: "So then. it has been a week since first getting here and ive found that this case is going to be less boring than i thought, in fact so interesting that we have the data to say that the temperature of this SCP is always according to a certain time of day, and as you probably guessed the nitrogen didn't work but we where shipped half a tank, half a tank along with blow torches, like we didnt ask for these? why do we need them? well someone in this group just cut money out of the food, i swear if it was ████ Jenkens i'm gonna use him to spice up our food!"

Audio to text log #04: "its… harder than just seclusion here, like i guess that the idea of it didnt have all these dang nightmares. i still dont understand who ordered those torches and broke our fridge. *sigh* on the bright side they are sending in a class D for any research we need, doubt we will use him much but he can clean, right?"

Audio to text log #05: "Nothing is getting better here! half of us are to scared to go into the dark because of all this seclusion that's causing these hallucination, what was it? cabin fever? anyway, we have a class D and dont know what to do with him, we haven't found any good way to test with humans on this thing, he just has nothing to do. the SCP is doing just fine in any case, nothing new we can report on."

Audio to text log #06: "THE MONSTERS! THEY'RE EVERYWHERE! THEY CRAWL, THEY LAUGH, THEY DROOL WITH HUNGER! THEY WANT TO EAT ME!!!" sobs continue along with inconsrehencable bable

Research report: Date: ██/██/16, no known dangers, starting today the research team is insisting SCP- as object class "Safe", no special data gained through setup.

Research report: Date: ██/██/16, Dr.██████ has lead an experiment on radiation, placed plutonium rod one meter away, ten centimeters away and directly on top. each test was resulted in no change in radiation levels. Dr.██████ assumes that heat may be a "fruitful" test next/

Incident report: Date: ██/██/16, the supports of the fridge Dr.Williams (█.A.W.) set up to attempt to cool SCP- failed, the fridge collapsed onto SCP- but SCP- did not move causing the fridge to tear itself apart from the inside.

Research report: Date: ██/██/16, We have reason to believe after the last test that SCP- has its own heat cycle, liquid nitrogen was poured over and submerged SCP- but no change in temperature, similar results occurred when Dr. Jenkens attempted to heat it up with a blow torch.

incident report: Date: ██/██/16, we have received a shippment overnight of our liquid nitrogen but it came with twelve (12) canisters of █████ and the nitrogen tank was filled only to half way.

Research report: Date: ██/██/16, it has been two weeks and have not made any breakthrough in research since we got hear, we insist labeling the SCP- as object class "Safe".

Emergency Audio report: Date: ██/██/16, Time: ██:██, "This is Dr.Korbold Jr. we request that the GhostBusters come and help us! I-I think there is something else here! It-It crawls into the small cracks and watches us as we sleep, please send support! PLEASE!"

Emergency Audio report: Reply: we've received your message but sadly cannot help at the moment, all vehicular traffic in the Bermuda triangle is postponed due to the current weather situation. gather all personnel and find a safe place to defend yourself, we estimate they will be able to arrive around 08:00 tomorrow.

Emergency response no other SCP are in the site, we have reason to believe that they are just suffering from cabin fever, we ask that you send a psychologist to help asses the current situation.

Emergency evacuation order we have reason to believe that everyone that comes in close proximity of SCP- experience fatal symptoms within a few weeks prior. we require all facilities shut down and all employees extracted until further notice, SCP- will also be listed as object class Keter.
