Item #: SCP-3203

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-3203 is to be stored in a 25x25x25cm locker on Site-77. SCP-3203 poses no apparent threat of any type to human subjects, and therefore requires no additional procedures for containment. Use and experimentation of SCP-3203 is authorized to all Class-B and above personnel.

Description: SCP-3203 appears to be a ███1 brand 0.5mm ballpoint pen. Upon general usage, SCP-3203 exhibits no anomalous properties whatsoever. After prolonged use upwards of 30 minutes by an unchanging human subject, the entity's ink, henceforth referred to as SCP-3203-1, will activate it's anomalous properties and begin to morph it's color. This change is displayed across any instances of SCP-3203-1, causing all previous documents containing SCP-3203-1 to shift color as well. Ink within SCP-3203 does not shift color accordingly with SCP-3203-1, and it is currently unknown if the ink visible within SCP-3203 is related to SCP-3203-1.

It is unknown what causes this occurrence, and upon examination of SCP-3203-1 no special traits have been discovered to differentiate SCP-3203-1 from non-anomalous ███ brand pen ink. After extensive use of SCP-3203, it has been determined the entity will not drain any ink at any time during experimentation. This results in a seemingly unlimited supply of SCP-3203-1 available from SCP-3203. It is currently unknown if SCP-3203 produces SCP-3203-1, or if SCP-3203-1 has anomalous properties of it's own to prevent degeneration.

Color shifting properties exhibited by SCP-3203-1 appear to occur in no specific order, ranging between all colors in the human color spectrum. Changes will occur in intervals of 32 seconds while active, instantaneously morphing from one color to another. While SCP-3203-1 has been observed to wash off all human subject's skin without incident, SCP-3203-1 has never been found to fade from any documents2 it has been used on.
