Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Keter

Special Containment Procedures: The location and appearance of the current instance of SCP-XXXX is unknown.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a cognitohazard manifesting as any possible object in the universe. Only one instance of SCP-XXXX exists at any given time. SCP-XXXX changes appearance after any one individual has viewed it. Any individual who directly views SCP-XXXX through any medium will become subject to its effects. Individuals affected by SCP-XXXX will develop an obsession with the object SCP-XXXX manifests as. Affected individuals (hereby designated as SCP-XXXX-1) will begin to perceive less of reality outside of SCP-XXXX and more on SCP-XXXX itself and related ideas and concepts.

In early stages, subjects will only perceive SCP-XXXX when dreaming. As the effect progresses subjects will start perceiving SCP-XXXX when awake as well. Subjects will still be able to perform daily activities, but will obsessively think about SCP-XXXX, and will often avoid social interaction. In later stages, subjects will start to become unable to perform daily activities and will spend almost all their time perceiving SCP-XXXX. Subjects will eventually reach an unresponsive and catatonic state where they are unable to perceive anything other than SCP-XXXX. Subjects in this stage eventually expire (often due to dehydration or starvation) if not given medical attention.
