Grey Ghosts

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: No member of SCP-XXXX-A is allowed contact with any other, either verbally or physically. Each member is to be kept in a standard humanoid containment chamber suspended inside of a Bronson-Kayber Mounted Tessaract Field. In this state, no contained individual is able to push into the fourth spatial dimension, even if in contact with another SCP-XXXX-A instance, and they would therefore need to traverse through the Tesseract Field in the third spatial dimension before being able to push into the fourth spatial dimension.

If any member is allowed physical contact with any other, Foundation staff are to be notified immediately, and if this contact takes place at a Foundation site, that site is to enter immediate lockdown, with all doors, vaults, and vents sealed and all secondary filtration systems activated to ensure the most minimal possible movement between rooms and locations around the facility.
Regardless of location, if SCP-XXX instances engage in physical contact, or especially if they are confirmed to have "pushed" one another, MTF-"Tesseract Keepers" will become active and attempt to re-contain members of SCP-XXXX before additional breakouts can occur.
If SCP-XXXX-B has been confirmed to enter the third dimension by reality or spatial measurement techniques, all sites are to enter standard procedure in the event of an XK-Class "End of the World Scenario".

Description: SCP-XXXX is a group of 14 instances of modified humans, hereafter referred to as -A-1 through -A-14 known amongst the Chinese general populace as the "Grey Ghosts". Members of this group are notable for their ability to "push" into the fourth spatial dimension, often passing their entire corporeal bodies through a barrier indistinguishable to the human eye. Because of the means by which they were given this anomalous ability, they have met an equally anomalous figure hereafter referred to as SCP-XXXX-B. This being is claimed to be nearly infinite in scale with some amount of control over universes of most if not all higher dimensions. Whether this creature is made of organic material or pure energy has not yet been confirmed, due mostly in part to the vague nature in which members of SCP-XXXX-A converse about it. The goal of all members of this group is to allow the entrance of SCP-XXXX-B into our own dimension, which, expounded upon by SCP-XXXX-A instances would cause an XK-Class "End of the World" scenario, by means unknown.

While in the fourth spatial dimension, all 14 instances of SCP-XXXX-A can move around in the third dimension invisible to the human eye. No current technology is capable of tracking their movement when in this state. While they still must obey the laws of our universe (they cannot travel through walls, gravity still affects each instance, etc.), they will not be impeded by moving objects such as bullets or people other than those in their group.

The only means by which Foundation personnel are capable of containing SCP-XXXX-A instances is through the weaponization of a tessaractal crystal that functions in the human body in the fourth spatial dimension similar to how ███████ ███ (CHClS) reacts to the human body in the third spatial dimension by damaging lung and skin tissue with the aim of wounds and pain forcing SCP-XXXX-A members to need to "push" back into the third spatial dimension, since this is the only place their wounds could be administered. During this time when they are likely unable to push back into the fourth spacial dimension, they can isolated and captured. Utilization of this gas has been left with MTF-"Tessaract's Keepers" who are stationed in many Site locations around the world to achieve the end of complete incapacitation and containment of remaining SCP-XXXX-A instances. This crystal is the first and only most effective way to injure SCP-XXXX-A instances while they are in the fourth dimension. Use of this crystal to injure SCP-XXXX-B are still ongoing.

In addition, while partially in the fourth dimension, some parts of the body will still be entirely corporeal in our own dimension, and still be able to be inflicted physical damage such as knife wounds. Parts of the body will be prolate or oblate depending on their position in the body. The innards of the body have been observed as highly visible while SCP-XXXX-A instances are in this state, though being partially in the fourth spatial dimension in this way seems to have no effect on any instance of SCP-XXXX-A. Indeed, on more than one occasion civilians and Foundation agents have observed entire vital organs of the body cut entirely in half through the fourth spatial dimension with no negative effects on the respective SCP-XXXX-A instance.
Other than this ability, no member of SCP-XXXX-A has obtained any other anomalous abilities.

As of 5/17/20██, 35 instances of SCP-XXXX-A have been contained. Global air and cable communications are being monitored for mention of remaining SCP-XXXX-A instances. Current containment procedures and locations are classified except to their respective O5s to prevent incursion by remaining SCP-XXXX-A instances. Current containment procedure is hypothesized to be completely stable. There has been no successful breach in at least ███ days.

Discovery: The whereabouts of 7 SCP-XXXX-A instances were confirmed on June ██, 1996 during a heist on the now defunct biotech firm Baozhou Industries when several guards at the facility reported heavily armed insurgents that appeared to blink out of reality. What was at first interpreted as hysteria among the security at the facility was eventually traced back and connected to █ similar incidents that had occurred over the previous 3 years across smaller biotech firms in China and South Korea.

Foundation units were dispatched to the facility and amnestics were dispersed. During review of security footage at least 7 armed and cloaked figures were seen disappearing from camera footage while completing mundane tasks like crossing doorway thresholds or rounding corners. It was discovered that these figures would push each other, after which the other figures would become completely invisible. A Foundation probe was established shortly after.

During investigation into the origin of these 7, and other, SCP-XXXX-A instances, Foundation assets discovered several previously classified documents from sources within the Chinese government pointing to several illegal human experiments carried out by the Ministry of State Security during the late 1980s. The goal of these experiments was to create an insurgent capable of committing acts of espionage against targets in both the United States of America as well of other states of interest such as the USSR and other European powers. The experiments, it has been confirmed, were successful, allowing the creation of all 14 SCP-XXXX-B instances, all contained instances of which have sworn varying degrees of allegiance to SCP-XXXX-B.
