Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: Instances of SCP-XXXX-1 are contained within a climate-controlled chamber at Bio-Research Area 12. Each instance of SCP-XXXX-1 is separated into 8 by 8 meter enclosures, with immediate access to feeding and watering troughs. Enclosures are to be cleaned daily.

All samples of SCP-XXXX-2 are kept in Area 12's Frozen Storage in a secure locker. Testing is permitted to site staff of Level 1 clearance or higher; testing on living organisms is permitted only to staff of Level 3 clearance or higher.

Description: SCP-XXXX-1 are instances of the bovine species Bos taurus primigenius, colloquially known as European cattle. The animals are visually and physically identical to normal cattle, and can only be distinguished from normal cattle by analysis of genitalia; SCP-XXXX-1 do not have functioning reproductive organs.

SCP-XXXX-2 is the meat of SCP-XXXX-1. SCP-XXXX-2, when consumed and digested in human beings, will not break down into its constituent components; instead, the cells rapidly divide inside of the host1. After reaching the size of a newborn, cell division slows until reaching normal levels. SCP-XXXX-1 will then attempt to escape the abdomen of their host by kicking and biting through organs and tissues, killing them in the process. SCP-XXXX-1 do not require milk after rupturing, instead grazing on available grass or feed. SCP-XXXX-1 do not seem to exhibit juvenile behaviors at any point in their life cycle, despite their juvenile appearance in the early stages.

Discovery: SCP-XXXX was discovered in █████, Idaho, after fourteen recorded fatalities on 06/02/20██. Individuals were admitted to the local hospital for intra-abdominal bleeding. In all cases, SCP-XXXX-1 erupted from their abdomens, fatally wounding them and causing panic among the hospital staff. Local Foundation personnel were able to prevent media coverage of the outbreak, and traced the individuals to a restaurant named █████ Drive-In, who received beef from a local cattle farm 8 kilometers west of █████. After investigating the farm, 24 instances of SCP-XXXX-1 were contained. Class 3 amnestics were administered to all non-Foundation persons involved in the investigation. Fatalities were explained with various cover up stories, with bodies cremated to obscure the cause of death. False memories and documents were put in place to appear as if all affected victims consented to cremation.
