Dr. Mistrot: Hello, Deviraya, mic test, can you hear me?
Deviraya: Yes, I can. How are you today Dr. Mistrot? Is your headache any better?
Dr. Mistrot: Great! Actually, it's still pounding away but I will be fine so let's focus on the task at hand okay?
Deviraya: Of course doctor, I hope you feel better soon.Dr. Mistrot: Thank you, are the two MTF Chi-13 agents with you presently? They are to escort you inside and provide additional assistance if necessary.
Deviraya: Yep, Agent Barlow and Agent Cristales are waiting with me outside the door.
Dr. Mistrot: Wonderful, do you remember your assigned targets?
Deviraya: Yeah, Agent Barclay, Agent Morris, the nest, and anything I can find on SCP-1983-2. What are my rules of engagement?
Dr. Mistrot: Rules of engagement will be governed by me as we go. You are not authorized to use any of your abilities unless given direct authorization by me, is that clear?
Deviraya: Yes, I understand.Agent Cristales: Mam, please advise on when we are cleared to cross the threshold with Deviraya.
Dr. Mistrot: Agent Cristales, once everyone activates their position beacons and checks their radiation suits I will give the green light to cross.
Agent Cristales: Cristales, beacon armed, rad suit ready.
Agent Barlow: Barlow, beacon armed, rad suit in good shape and ready to go.
Deviraya: Umm, I'm ready, just no beacon or suit, you know what I mean.
Dr. Mistrot: I know you don't need a beacon or suit Deviraya, just make sure you keep sending the audio and visual data at a steady rate once we start.
Deviraya: Will, do.
Dr. Mistrot: Alright, the mission has now officially commenced, will all members please cross the threshold quickly.
Agent Barlow: Barlow, crossing now.
Deviraya: Okay, I'm following Barlow. Oh wow, doc, it's super gross in here. You never told me this would be gross… Also, this is freakin' scary. I am really having second thoughts about this now. Dude, what is that?!
Agent Cristales: Cristales, just crossed over, can you still hear us doc?
[ Harsh radio interference starts to corrupt the SCP-5XXX's active data stream ]
Dr. Mistrot: Hello? Agent Cristales? Hellooooo? Please repeat, you are breaking up bad. Can you hear me?
Deviraya: Doc! Something is wrong, they can't talk over my data stream, but they can talk directly to me. I am not sure what is going on. I'll make sure to record a local copy to upload later.[ SCP-5XXX's local recording has been used to supplement the external recording ]
Dr. Mistrot: Okay, do your best to retain control of the situation. Keep me updated Deviraya, I know you're capable.Deviraya: Oh no… Doc, we just heard something up ahead, I'm going to be quiet for a moment.
Agent Barlow: [ whispering] Deviraya, they're coming, hurry, increase your light output!
[ SCP-5XXX increases its Cherenkov radiation levels ]
Agent Cristales: That's them! Doc, we've made contact with SCP-1983-2, Barlow move out of the damn way!
[ Echoing gunshots can be heard intermixed with heavy breathing ]
Agent Barlow: Jesus Christ!
[ Both agent's suits register dangerous external levels of radiation ]
Deviraya: BACK!!! GET BACK!!! Barlow NO!!!
[ Scratching and an electric spark can be heard after the last gunshots ]
Agent Cristales: We killed it. It's down. Barlow…, you idiot! Why, why did you do that?! Doc… Barlow is dead. He was too aggressive and charged them. Another one fled once Deviraya's light started to flood the room. Wow, my suit, it's getting really hot in here Deviraya. Maybe bring it down a bit, I think my suit is okay though.Deviraya: Doctor. I've never seen anything like that before… That nice man just died… I'm sorry. I'll do my best to keep Agent Cristales safe. You hear me Cristales?? We are going to be okay! I promise! Please, Doctor, let me use more of my abilities, I can save him! I know I can!
Dr. Mistrot: Agent Cristales, please perform a gear check and salvage anything you can off of Agent Barlow's person. Deviraya, I wish I could, but I am not getting fired today. I have my orders and you have yours.
Deviraya: Fine, but Agent Cristales, stay close okay?
Agent Cristales: Sure. Okay doc, my gear checks out and Barlow's gear has been retrieved, we are going to proceed deeper into the structure.
Dr. Mistrot: Copy, please proceed with caution as always. Deviraya, focus on keeping the data stream stable as you go deeper.
[ An hour passes as the two navigate the disorientating nature of the structure. ]
Agent Cristales: [ whispering ] Doc, we're here. We couldn't find any remains of the other two agents. We see the nest Agent Barclay described. It's massive and there are hundreds of them moving about. Please advise on how to proceed.Dr. Mistrot: Agent Cristales give me one moment and hold your position. Standby.
Deviraya: [ whispering ] Cristales, I'm scared.
Agent Cristales: [ whispering ] Don't be, hey, look at me. Just focus on me okay? I've got enough faith for the two of us.
Deviraya: [ whispering ] Aren't you worried that I won't be able to help you? That you might die? I don't want anyone to get hurt… This is terrible…
Agent Cristales: [ whispering ] I'm not worried okay, these pieces of shit killed my younger brother. We used to serve together and I miss him every day. We only had each other. Look, I wouldn't want to be anywhere else, I'm not afraid of dying. I'll meet my brother again someday soon. Trust me, we'll get them. They won't know what hit them.
Deviraya: [ whispering ] I'm so sorry that happened, you don't have a family back home? Won't they be worried about you?
Agent Cristales: [ whispering ] No need to apologize, it's not your fault. To answer your question, no, I don't have anyone waiting for me back home. MTF agents don't have time for a normal life. We only have each other to count on and the next mission to worry about. Let me ask you this, what will they do to you if you disobey the doctor and use your full range of abilities?
Deviraya: [ whispering ] They will perform a really painful operation on me, well the me that is back at Area-47 in containment, the operation makes me forget certain things. If they do it I won't remember you or Barlow or anything from this trip. I only know this because I think I've disobeyed them before. I say this because I have a lot of fragmented memories I can't quite connect. I promise I'm not bad though Agent Cristales! I don't know why I would disobey them, they are nice to me and they gave me a puppy. Her name is Belle.
Agent Cristales: [ whispering ] Deviraya, if you say you've handled the operation before do you think you can disobey them just once for me? Can you be strong for me, to see this through? Look, can you promise me this, whatever happens don't let these things win okay? They took my little brother, my baby brother. Stole the light right out of his eyes and I had to watch them tear his heart from his body. I am telling you now, if you can promise me that I would be eternally grateful.
Deviraya: [ whispering ] It is the worst pain I've ever felt, but I don't want to see these things cause anymore pain like they've caused you or others. Okay, you have my word, I will disobey them.
Agent Cristales: [ whispering ] Thank you Deviraya. You don't know how much that means to me, I haven't felt this hopeful in ages.
Dr. Mistrot: Come in, Agent Cristales, Deviraya. You both still there? Everything okay?
Agent Cristales: [ whispering ] Yeah, we're still here. What's the word doc?
Deviraya: [ whispering ] I'm okay.
Dr. Mistrot: Agent Cristales you are to activate the special device my team gave you to take in with you on this mission. The device is a silver nitrate fragmentation charge that will dispense highly aggresive nano bots from its core outwards at speeds nearing mach 6. This device will kill you if you are not careful. Arm the device and throw it towards the center of the nest and retreat, you will only have 15 seconds to get clear of the initial blast. Following the blast the nano bots will start to denature anything in the vicinity.
Deviraya: [ whispering ] What do I do?
Dr. Mistrot: You will assist Agent Cristales with his escape and bring him back over the threshold.
Deviraya: [ whispering ] Gotcha.
Agent Cristales: [ whispering ] Okay, arming the device now. Get ready, Deviraya.
Deviraya: [ whispering ] I'm ready.
[ Video feed shows Agent Cristales throwing the device into the nest ]
Agent Cristales: Now! Deviraya let's go!
[ Video feed shows SCP-5XXX fleeing at high speed with Agent Cristales ]
[ 15 seconds pass ]
Agent Cristales: I'm not getting confirmation of a succesful detonation. Shit. Doc, come in, I say again, no confirmation of succesful detonation! This entire place is coming after us now! Please advise!Dr. Mistrot: Deviraya, cross the threshold with Agent Cristales immediatley, evacuate the area now!
Deviraya: No! Doctor I can't bring Agent Cristales back through with me! The threshold will only let me pass through! What do we do?!
Agent Cristales: NO! Is that it!? No, back up plan?!
Dr. Mistrot: Jesus, then Deviraya leave Agent Cristales behind, we can not afford to let your twin potentially get corrupted by these entities! I repeat, leave Agent Cristales behind!
Agent Cristales: Fuck. So that's how it is huh doc? I know we're disposable, but you could've had a fucking back up plan. Well, I'm not going out without dropping a few of these pricks.
Dr. Mistrot: I'm sorry Agent Cristales, but you knew what you signed up for. I wish you the best. Deviraya, get out of there now.
Deviraya: Agent Cristales! Grab on to me now! I made you a promise! Please!
[ Video feed shows SCP-5XXX teleporting with Agent Cristales back into the nest's chamber ]
Deviraya: I wanted you to see this. Here hangout up here. I'm sorry it has to be this way. You are a good man. Thank you for comforting me earlier.[ The video shows SCP-5XXX suspending Agent Cristales in the air above the nest. ]
Deviraya: I hope this gives you peace friend.Agent Cristales: Thank you.
[ The video shows a bright flash of light and then SCP-5XXX triggering a pair-instability hypernova ]
[ Both audio and video feeds cease ]
Dr. Mistrot: Shit! Damn it! Hurry! RAIJIN activate protocol Asura Rising now! All staff get to Area-47's hardpoint now!RAIJIN: Fail-safe protocol activated.
