Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Keter

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is required at all times to be restrained by no less than thirty-two (32) reinforced metal wires (four per limb), with no exceptions whatsoever. Further more, metal wiring must be electrocuted with 60 000 volts at all times to keep SCP-XXXX subdued. Any research that would involve direct physical contact with SCP-XXXX requires authorization from at least one (1) Level 5 personnel, and supervision from said personnel. SCP-XXXX's room must be 4m x 4m x 4m, with the room surrounded by solid ground for 15m (in an event of a breach), and the corridor leading the SCP-XXXX's containment cell must be no larger than 1m x 1.5m x 15m. Once every two weeks, SCP-XXXX is to be fed 1kg of grounded wood.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a large sentient being, measuring at 3m tall and 1m wide, and weighing 680kg when expanded. Its appearance resembles that of a medieval morning star sphere-a weapon comprised of a stick with a chain coming off, connected to a iron ball with multiple spikes sticking out of it-with a brown colour on its shell and grey muscles and skin inside. The shell and spikes of SCP-XXXX had yet to be breached or broken for chemical analysis, as they appear to be made of some extremely resistant and dense bio matter. SCP-XXXX has one spherical head with a small neck, four arms, two legs and one short tail.

SCP-XXXX is a life form that has two forms: its restrained form, where the limbs are exposed and the creature is exposed and slowed. This form is believed to be used for rest or reproduction, but no other life forms like SCP-XXXX have been discovered as of yet; and its "morning star" form. In this form, which it seems to prefer, SCP-XXXX encases itself in its shell, becoming an orb with deadly spikes. It then contorts itself around inside the sphere to roll at incredible speeds (highest recorded speed was approximately 270m/hr) and destroys everything in its path.

As it rolls, everything is destroys is turned into a crushed mixture on the ground, which SCP-XXXX then consumes as the head rolls around at the bottom. Investigation has found that SCP-XXXX has no teeth in its mouth, and therefore the destructive nature of SCP-XXXX has been determined as a form of breaking down food before ingesting, as it has no way to swallow whole objects. The reason for the amount of destruction it causes is due to what the creature eats as a regular diet: wood, dirt, and metals. It is unknown what SCP-XXXX finds in these materials for nourishment, but it appears that there is not much nourishment in them, therefore it must constantly feed.

Investigations and session with SCP-XXXX have determined it to be intelligent and sentient. When poked at with research tools, the creature would grunt, and continue to grunt louder until the individual who had poked it had left the room. In communication attempts, the only noises the creature made were gurgling, and between the gurgles only the word "consume". When shown solid wood, metal or dirt, SCP-XXXX became unstable and attempts harder to change to its morning star mode. When the materials are removed from the room, SCP-XXXX will calm down but show signs of anger towards any personnel for a few days.

SCP-XXXX constantly attempts to curl into its morning star form. Electrified wiring keeps SCP-XXXX from being able to pull the wires out of the walls, as it forces the muscles to going outwards. If electricity were to fail, personnel are estimated to have eight minutes and forty nine seconds (8min 49sec) before SCP-XXXX will have pulled out/broken the wiring and be free. The 15m of walling are to slow it for feeding and breaking purposes, and personnel are then estimated to have four minutes and six seconds (4min 6sec) before SCP-XXXX is loose in the facility.

Addendum XXXX-B: SCP-XXXX Capture report from Mobile Task Force [DATA EXPUNGED]:

"After weeks of watching SCP-XXXX ravage [REDACTED], we learned that it always required rest every thirty two hours. However, it only appeared to require twenty minutes of rest-a true feat for any life form- so we had to act quickly in order to contain it. It tended to reside in the same cave it had, as we were told, originated from: a small cave approximately forty seven yards away from its first zone it destroyed, a farm. All agents were equipped with stun guns and Tasers, including one agent carrying a generator and cables. Intel had shown us the creature in question tended to avoid destroying power lines, therefore we had a hunch it did not like electricity. Still, "tended to avoid" was not always. It would wait until the power had left the line, and then proceeded to consume it. Three other Task Forces waited outside the cave while we entered to initiate the capture. SCP-XXXX was sprawled out across the ground on its front side, the shell facing outwards to us. Our squad drew our stun guns quietly, but when someone tripped in the dark, the creature woke. It ran over my entire group, and destroyed the generator. I managed to hit SCP-XXXX with my stun gun, but it did nothing as its shell protected it. I picked myself up and stumbled outside to see the other Task Forces deploying an electric carpet outside the cave. SCP-XXXX rolled over it and became entangled inside, and then was shocked and subdued for a few moments. The Task Forces and myself then attempted to hold SCP-XXXX inside the carpet until help arrived. Finally, helicopters picked it up with metal wiring and transported it to the facility. That thing was a strong son of a bitch."
