An infected infant.

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Keter

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX must be kept in a small, air-tight container. Air is to be pumped in via pumps covered in rubber to prevent the parasite and egg from nearing it. The pump(s) must have a 0.01 millimeter radius to prevent the egg and the parasite from entering the pump and infecting others. SCP-XXXX is to be kept near a wet sponge at all times to prevent SCP-XXXX from drying up and dying.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a parasitic disease. Those who are infected by SCP-XXXX cannot be visibly identified unless the subject is under approximately three years old. In this scenario, the child has a discoloration of the iris.

The eggs of SCP-XXXX are extremely sticky, causing it to stick to everything it comes in contact with. The eggs hatch on any animal body. The parasite will immediately enter the body through the nearest opening in the body. Initially SCP-XXXX will attach itself to the brainstem, and grow around the spine. SCP-XXXX will be able to monitor the subject's actions and thoughts by "tapping" into the brain. It takes approximately 7 years for SCP-XXXX to fully be able to control the brainstem. Once it does however, it will start to understand other parts of the brain to get an idea of the way the body works. It will take over the brain in a time of approximately 14 years. SCP-XXXX will monitor the body and take control of it after preventing the brain from working and fully understanding it.

SCP-XXXX will most likely not be noticed by family members, friends or the subject, and is seemingly very precise in mimicking the behavior of the subject. It is unknown why the parasite avoids rubber under any circumstance. Further research is pending.

Interviewed: Sara (Sibling of infected patient 12. Referred to in the log as ███)

Interviewer: James Hughbert

Foreword: This interview describes what sara, sister to patient 12, thought about when she found that patient 12 had been a subject for SCP-XXXX

<Begin Log>

Interviewer: Did you ever notice a change in patient 12?

Person: I didn't notice anything different about him at all. He was completely the same as he always was.

Interviewer: So, what was your reaction when you found out that your loved one was actually dead, and replaced?

Person: I was astonished to find out that it was not him. I thought that the parasite was ███, he acted the same way the parasite did. There was absolutely no difference!
Interviewer: So,███ was going about a normal life and nothing threatening was happening?

Person: Yes, sir. You see, me and ███ were very close, and ███ was very friendly towards me. He would have never threatened me, and the parasite didn't either.

<End Log>

Closing Statement: SCP-XXXX is almost unnoticeable, which has been proven by many interviews, in addition to this one.
