SCP-XXXX-A,1,2 (WIP)

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid Keter

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is located in the wilderness of [REDACTED], Canada. 2 square-kilometers of land around SCP-XXXX are to be surrounded by a 6,700-volt fence. Watchtowers inside fence area and around SCP-XXXX are to be maintained by personnel at all times. All personnel inside 2 square kilometer fence are to be armed with IR goggles and Ultimet Alloy-plated armor. The entrance to SCP-XXXX-A is to be secured with 2 meter-thick Ultimet doors. If SCP-XXXX-1 can be heard attempting an escape, MTF Alpha-1 is to be contacted and informed of the situation at once. In case of an escape of SCP-XXXX-1, MTF Zeta-9 and MTF Alpha-1 are to surround perimeter of SCP-XXXX and exterminate all personnel inside the 2 square-kilometer fence. If reconnaissance finds any instances of level 2 or below personnel or an SCP-XXXX-1, they are to be terminated immediately. If level 3 or higher personnel are recovered, they are to be taken into custody for testing. And, If MTF Zeta-9 and Alpha-1 fail to contain an outbreak of SCP-XXXX-1, on-site nuclear warheads are to be detonated.

Description : SCP-XXXX-A is a cave entrance located in the ██████ mountain. The walls near the entrance appear to be shale, but approximately 10 meters further down the main passage, they assume a more organic nature. Lab samples taken from 167 meters inside the main passage are shown to be microscopic lining of a fungal mycelium. Considering this is the only record of this species, it has been classified SCP-XXXX-2. Upon continuing more than about 301 meters into the main passage, many branch-offs wind off from the ceiling, walls, and floor. Approximately every [REDACTED], the passages change completely via unknown means, making it impossible to chart out the entire cave system. Encounters with SCP-XXXX-1 usually occur 60-97 meters into the cave; it is not unknown, however, for SCP-XXXX-1 to attempt to surface. SCP-XXXX-1 is not visible in the normal light spectrum, and Infrared goggles are necessary to make visual contact. Externally, SCP-XXXX-1 has the physical appearance of a humanoid, with a few grotesque exceptions2. SCP-XXXX-1 possess no clothing, and autopsies show they have no external or internal sexual organs. The skin of SCP-XXXX-1 visually appears to be easily inflicted, but is extremely flexible and resilient. SCP-XXXX-1's body is reminiscent of a 2-meter tall elderly human near starvation, with the rib-cage tightly wound in skin, not much muscle, and barely any hair on the scalp. SCP-XXXX-1 also possess metallic3 claws. It is unknown whether SCP-XXXX-1 needs food to survive, or if it is simply part of its' shape-shifting process. If an SCP-XXXX-1 has targeted a human4, SCP-XXXX-1 tries to seclude it from other humans. SCP-XXXX-1 produces a hormonal smell that vastly appeals to the human olfactory gland, and uses this to it's advantage. Once a human has been isolated, they viciously claw apart the victim and [DATA EXPUNGED]. Through an unknown chemical process, SCP-XXXX-1 replicates the DNA acquired from the latest victim. After about 2 minutes in a comatose state, the SCP-XXXX-1 awakens with the physical appearance of their previous kill. SCP-XXXX-1 also has the ability to retain the memories and knowledge of their target, and assume the victim's identity. After a course of 6 months, the SCP-XXXX-1 will slowly fade back to its original genetic form, and will be forced to find another victim. An SCP-XXXX-1 is easily recognizable in this state, as a 37% percent body weight disappears and the entity looses hair quite quickly.
In the event that SCP-XXXX-1 does not find another victim, it quickly fades back into the Infrared spectrum. It is unclear as to why an SCP-XXXX-1 has the need for hunting down another victim, for contained specimens have survived without any food or being allowed to hunt.

Addendum 1: While an SCP-XXXX-1 boasts a fair resilience to most infliction, it is, if anything, somewhat crippled or afraid of the element cobalt. In Incident AB-S7, Agent █████ was proved to actually be an SCP-XXXX-1 in disguise, by accidentally having cobalt come into contact with his skin.

Addendum 2: It has been hypothesized by Dr. Abraxas that, because the SCP-XXXX-1 show no sign of reproduction, that there is probably a "hive queen", "SCP-XXXX-3", in the center of SCP-XXXX-A.

Addendum 3: While in their near-invisible hunting form, SCP-XXXX-1 exhibit an animistic want to hunt. All forms to communicate with one in containment have proved unsuccessful. Also, while in victim form, SCP-XXXX-1 appears to be innocently unaware and truly believe they are themselves. A Neurography Test proved that SCP-XXXX-1 actually believed it was the human it was impersonating, which is very unsettling. This most likely means that all SCP-XXXX-1 are actually not sentient, and have a more robotic thought-process.

Addendum 4; Interview with survivor of security breach AB-S1.
Interviewer: Dr. Abraxas
Interviewed: Agent ██████
Foreword:Agent ██████ recently survived the AB-S1 Incident, the first of many security failures where multiple SCP-XXXX-1 had breached containment.

Dr. Abraxas: How were the SCP-XXXX-1s able to escape from their containment?

Agent ██████: About 4 hours before it happened, we could hear a cave-in. The On-Site Commander thought little of it, so he only left a message to MTF Zeta-9 that they should go check it out or something.

Dr. Abraxas: Well? How come no further security measures were taken? Surely it would arouse some suspicion.

Agent ██████: Well, it got even a little more odd when we thought we heard Dr. ████ scream from the Level 4 Access Containment Room. But when we went to go check on him… He was said "he was perfectly fine". T'Man didn't look fine. He looked like he was hit by bus after not sleeping for 3 years straight. He said that he had just "simply slipped".

Dr. Abraxas: Please continue. This is always my favorite part.

Agent ██████: What do you mean "This is—"? Never-mind. Anyway, as soon as we turned to head back to the barracks, "Dr. ████" opens the all the security accesses to the cave. I turn around, and he just had this horrid, evil look on his face. And the cave. It was… horrifying. Looked like a bottomless abyss. Even worse, you could hear movement. You could
see movement. Well… it felt like there was something moving down there.

Dr. Abraxas: Aaand? What happened next?

Agent ██████: Y'see, my friend was the only one wearing the Infrared goggles at the time. And when he looked back… he just screamed. And… and… he dropped dead. His neck was practically slit open. He just fell to lifeless to the ground, bleeding. There was so much… blood.

Dr. Abraxas: How did you survive when no one else did? From your platoon, I mean.

Agent ██████: Its because… its… Well, I was the fastest in the group. So I reached the second security door first. And… I…

Dr. Abraxas: You…?

Agent ██████: I closed it. So that way… Y'know… those things couldn't escape. But i'm sorry… I really am… Please… no more questions. I didn’t want them to die! Oh god… Please stop the screaming!

*At this point, Agent ██████ became unresponsive and was delivered to the nearest psychiatric ward. Agent ██████ was given Class-A Amnesiacs and returned to duty █/█/08.*
