Gersha and Allen appeared at opposite ends of a table in dimly lit booth in a smoky lounge. Soft jazz music playing, abstract paintings lined the walls.

"Wow! What happened! What is happening? How did I get here!"

Allen sighed. "I think it's best to just not ask questions at this point."

Gersha furrowed her brow at Allen. "Hey! You're a bad person! You should be dead.'

Allen rested his head in his hand. "Thanks."

An older woman appeared at the table between them in a rainbow tinted explosion of smoke and glitter. She had long silver hair, and soft wrinkles around her shimmering kaleidoscope eyes.

Allen scowled at her.

"Reality bender. Calling it already. We're at her mercy and we're probably going to suffer a fate worse than death, or something stupider." Allen groaned and banged the back of his head on the wall. "You already know my name and shit."

The mysterious woman grimaced. "Eww. I'm putting you back."

Allen disappeared in a puff of foul smelling smoke.

"Hi!" Shouted Gersha, leaning in toward the woman. "My name is Gersha! What's your name?"

The woman put a curled finger to her lips and coughed. "I call myself Hazel. It's nice to meet you, deary."

Gersha's smile got wider and wider, until the wounds on her cracked lips re-opened. She winced and wiped her mouth.

"Is this your house? Are we still in Kansas? Is this Kansas?"

"Yes, mostly, but forget about that. Tell me about yourself."

Gersha looked at her with amazement. "Oh. Well, uh, I. I'm not much! I'm me! And wow, I'm outside. Is this what outside is like? I noticed Allen said you already knew about him, and maybe that means you already know about me? Are you a reality bender like on TV? That's so cool! I want to be a reality bender when I grow up."

Hazel smiled at Gersha. "Honey, you're 36 years old. 36 and 11 months."

"Really? Oh damn." Gersha frowned. "Fuck…"

Hazel laughed. "Now ask me about me."

Gersha clasped her hands together and leaned back. "Tell me, tell me! What's being a reality bender like? Isn't it the best? Have you always been a reality bender?"

Hazel gritted her teeth at the side of her mouth. "Well there's no drama, certainly. It's actually kind of boring." She thought for a moment. "Yes I've always been a 'reality bender'. I think it runs in the family, on my dad's side."

Gersha tilted her head to the side. "Really? How. You can do anything!"

"Have you ever played a video game before?"

"Yeah, yeah they're okay." Said Gersha. "I like Human Simulator: 1990."

"Ah, I like that one too, actually. Have you tried it with cheats?"

Gersha groaned. "Yeah, but, it gets kinda boring after a while. I had like infinite moneys and like, all the guns."

"That's what being a reality bender is like," Said Hazel, sipping a glass of then-manifest gunpowder tea. "And you, you're a character. You're just a little story to me."

"Oh. So what do you do for fun?"

"I like to chat with the odd thing. I keep to my cats. I'm old."

"Can't you just make yourself young again?"

"Yeah. I could if I wanted to."

"Why-"

"Boring." She said, plainly. "How is your little adventure going? Do you want to stay on that helicopter with those men?"

"Well they seem really nice. There's the big guy and's the golden guy and the ugly guy and they're all really really nice except for the dead guy, but he's dead."
