I just started writing for SCP so there is bound to be a lot of crap, but you kind of have to write crap because there is that chance that there is a diamond in there from that time you ate a that bakery and you swear you bit into a rock, and now you are checking just to be sure. SCP-xxxx-a is to remain within the research lab of Site 2102, located 3 km below the main facility within a quarantined zone. The research lab has been lined with 25 cm lead shielding. Quarantined zones are surrounded by a mixture, 3 meters thick, of sand and salt. Two buffer rooms filled with this sand-salt mixture separate the quarantined zone from Elevator Phi; at least one room is to remain full at all times.
No on-site personnel are permitted to enter the quarantined zone without written, signed, and approved order from Dr. ██████████. Any personnel that manage to leave the quarantined zone are to be incinerated and catalogued by the attending mortician, Dr. ███.
All security personnel are to be stationed within the main facility at ground level. The only approved access point to the quarantined zone is Elevator Phi. Strategically placed explosives are in place to collapse Elevator Phi and bury SCP-xxxx.
Description:
In its casing, SCP-xxxx-a is an object that roughly resembles a cross with a ballooned top that stands at 1.23 m tall and 0.87 m wide and weighs approximately 200 kg. The case of the object features a seam that runs along the entire perimeter of SCP-xxxx-a which opens when stroked by a living organism. The case is capable of shielding anything outside SCP-xxxx-a from the intense radiation it generates, while allowing outside radiation to enter SCP-xxxx-a.
Without the casing SCP-xxxx-a is [DATA EXPUNGED]. High risk of radiation exposure and the risk of destroying SCP-xxxx limits the amount of testing done to SCP-xxxx-a’s inner workings. Multiple samples of the [REDACTED] have been submitted for testing.
SCP-xxxx-a uses the radiation it generates to produce SCP-xxxx-b, a resonance field which, when amplified by the casing, may reach up to 2 km. Obstacles and walls have demonstrated little effect in dampening the field, but a barrier of coarse sand and rock salt has proven to be exponentially efficient.

3. Essentials, equipment, subjects, and Class D personnel are transported from a remote, above-ground location via pipe, wire, or remote elevator.
4. No more than 125 personnel are permitted within Research Site 2102 at any time.
In the event of an emergency, including hostile takeover or Device malfunction, the Main Lab can be lowered to a depth of 5 kilometers to neutralize any threat to the facility.

Description:
SCP-2000 is incased in an alloy that technicians have thus far been unable to duplicate, and is mostly hollow. Dr. ██████████ has managed to open the Device's casing to reveal a confounded mess of wires and unidentified circuitry, all highly radioactive. It has been concluded that SCP-2000 runs of radioactive energy, including trace radiation emitted from the organisms and environments around it; the Device uses this energy to produce a resonance field, of varying strength, which interrupts natural electrical signals in organisms and produces artificial signals to power the brain. Provided that the brain has not been without natural signal for approximately 24 hours and is capable of proper conductivity, this resonance field is capable of reviving the recently deceased.
Three years of observation and testing has revealed these facts:
Subjects within a range of the Device can withstand significant injuries, enough that would kill normal human beings, with the exception of severe head trauma. (Dr. ██████████, ██/█/11)

The radius of the Device’s effect reaches approximately 2 km. Brain function in any subject immediately ceases once they leave the area. Re-entering the area does not resume brain function; no resuscitation possible. The area of SCP-2000’s influence seems to vary depending on the number or personnel on-site. (Dr. ██████████, █/██/12) Research Site 2102 assigned a personnel limit to control SCP-2000’s influence. SCP-2000 reclassified as Euclid. Further research no longer required. Site 2102 reclassified as a storage facility.
Due to the number of casualties that would be associated with shutting SCP-2000 down, O5 orders are to keep the Device running.
Acquisition:
The Device was discovered by Egyptian archeologist Dr. Hamill in [DATA MISSING]. A full description of the encounter can be found at [SOURCE INFORMATION SCRUBBED BY O5 ORDER]. Upon retrieval of the Device from the tomb of [DATA MISSING] Dr. Hamill and his team of approximately 24 were discovered dead within their campsite. Autopsy revealed no apparent cause of death as well as [DATA MISSING].
Foundation attention was called to the Device when the above details were reported to officials by the coroner. The coroner was drafted into the Foundation, granted E2 clearance for SCP-2000, and designated “Dr. Gertrude”. Subsequently, the Device was classified as Missing when the delivery vehicle failed to arrive at Dr. Hamill’s museum. The Foundation located the Device in the back of a wrecked vehicle at the bottom of a cliff; the driver was located [DATA MISSING].
The museum was seized by the Foundation at Dr. ██████████’s request for SCP-2000. The museum was designated Research Site 2102, with Dr. ██████████ leading research on the device, as well as [REDACTED] to spend repurposing Site 2102 into a research facility.
I got some nice feedback on the first draft, and it revealed that I needed to, at the very least, revise my writing of SCP-XXXX. You can see some of the things that I changed, but allow me to save you some time.
First off, I changed some of the functionality of SCP-XXXX, its effect is now capable of being artificially contained. It still kills people and all, but I decided to keep that little detail hidden from any personnel that read this; they aren't supposed to be coming into contact with SCP-XXXX anyway, and if they are requested then they shouldn't be given a reason to say "no". Besides, I kind of wanted to make it seem like the personnel are really the ones being contained, rather than the SCP itself.
