SCP-2828 observing a scientist (not in frame) during a relocation.

Item #: SCP-2828

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is kept in a 10m x 10m x 3m containment chamber. Each wall of the containment chamber is to be outfitted with a mirror with the exception of the west wall; the west wall will have a 6m x 1m one-way mirror connected to a observation chamber, with the mirror facing the containment chamber. A toilet is to be installed into the north wall and, upon request, up to two minutes of privacy may be given where a curtain will be lowered in front of the one-way mirror. Furniture and food are to be furnished upon request with confirmation of a Level-3 personnel. The south mirror is to have a 3 inch gap on either side of the door to the containment chamber.

Description: SCP-XXXX is an apparent Caucasian male, whom is 6'1" and 195 pounds1. His clothing appears to change on a daily basis however it is unclear when he changes, and where he obtains the clothing from; the subject claims he is unaware himself. He speaks fluent English and prefers the name "Kevin" but will respond to his designation of XXXX . He is only visible "inside" mirrors and interacts with the reflection of rooms as if they were an adjacent room blocked off by a thin wall of glass. Despite this he is able to hear as if uninhibited by the glass. If multiple mirrors are present he may only appear "inside" one mirror at a time and does not present an "Infinity Mirror" effect with parallel mirrors. Adjacent mirrors can be passed as if it was one solid connected room. The reflection of items in mirrors can be interacted with and manipulated by he, however the object will not visibly change if viewed directly from any source of our world; as the subject claims: during observation of the objects they "feel as though they are bolted to the spot"; objects have been observed to levitate and "freeze in time" if they were in mid motion when observed. The subject seems to have no need for food, drink, or evacuation however consumed food and drink, as well as the act of evacuation the subject claims "…are luxurious…"; however he claims that regardless of how long it has been since these "luxuries" it never feels worse than being peckish, having a dry throat, or having not used the restroom for a few hours, respectively. Interaction with animate objects has been limited as when XXXX is in the same mirror as another human he experiences [DATA EXPUNGED] with negative results, however he claims he means no harm in these any incidents.

Addendum XXXX-1: Reflective surfaces do not appear to allow the subject to "enter" unless the surface is at least 6 (six) feet tall and 2 (two) feet wide. Additionally the surface must have a reflectance percentage of at least 80. The subject claims that entry into concave or convex reflections feel uncomfortable as if someone is "stretching or squishing" him. Upon entering a concave reflection, though the reflection and all objects reflected become inverted, XXXX himself remains upright.
