SCP-XXXX in a docile state, prior to containment.

Object Class: Safe, Euclid, Keter

Special Containment Procedures:

Revision Π-ΑΑΣ:1
SCP-XXXX is to be kept within a metallic container, the alloy of which consists of pure lead and nickel aluminium bronze, measuring 40cm in height, 10cm in length and 5cm in width. This container is to be kept within a modified humanoid containment cell measuring 5m in length width and height, the interior of which must also be lead lined. A Faraday shield must be present around the container and the inside of the cell at all times and be inspected monthly for signs of degradation. At no point is the object allowed outside of the cell and interaction with humanoids or any sentient life form capable of vocalizations or thought is strictly prohibited. Any and all testing has been suspended until such a time that communication direct or indirect does not result in a reaction to negative stimuli with a threat level above 2. Failure to comply will result in immediate termination.

The exterior of the cell is to be closely monitored at all times with surveillance cameras while the interior is to be monitored with wall mounted thermal imaging cameras as well as Geiger counters to check that levels of UV radiation emission are at an acceptably low level. If at any point, the object is shown to emit UV radiation that is above 400mSv, automated drones are to be sent into containment cell to replace the light-bulb. The bulb itself must be incandescent. Any attempt to insert a halogen bulb will result in threat levels rising to [REDACTED]. If at any point the object is in the presence of negative stimuli that produces a threat level past 4 and/or breaches containment, all on site personnel are to be notified and MTF Beta-37(Ride The Lightning) are to be called in immediately to suppress SCP-XXXX and enact Protocol XXXX-10731105(Lights Out).

Note: previous iterations of containment procedures for SCP-XXXX expunged due to frequent escape attempts and data corruption.

Description:

SCP-XXXX is the designation given to an anomalous entity that consists of a length of orange power cord with an incandescent light bulb at one end and a connector at the other. Power cord is approximately 5m in length although on occasion has been seen elongating slightly in length but not to any notable degree. Footage of previous containment procedures have noted that while in a docile state, SCP-XXXX will walk in an ambulatory fashion similar to humans, using it's wires and plug socket as makeshift legs. While there are a few hypotheses and debates on the subjects sapience and whether or not the limited sentience it shows is evidence for more advanced cognitive processes, the nature of SCP-XXXX makes close up studies of the object near impossible even when threat levels are at 0.

The anomalous nature of the object manifests when in the presence of humans, humanoids and any life form that possesses any degree of sapience or sentience to the point of being able to vocalize or perceive words, actions and other similar concepts. If at any point these vocalizations or actions are observed within the presence of the object and are perceived as negative stimuli SCP-XXXX, will then enter an enraged state and emit an electrical discharge from the base of the bulb itself, the intensity of which seems directly tied to the negative stimuli that was perceived. Currents of previous electrical discharges have measured between 10mA2 all the way up to [REDACTED] and have varied from a simple flash

Explosion.jpg

Substation after initial contact with SCP-XXXX.

SCP-6754 was recovered in Dublin, Ireland outside an electrical substation located in the suburb of I████████ in 05/11/20██. Local law enforcement were notified about an explosion that had occurred outside the facility and had sent in a team of firefighters. It is unknown when contact was 1st made with the object but what is known is that after initial exposure, there were several reports from meteorologists regarding
