Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be housed in a 30 square meter cell constructed of reinforced concrete. SCP-XXXX should be near or exactly in the center of the cell on top of a steel sheet. No containers or keys are allowed in the cell when testing is not scheduled to be taking place. All instances of SCP-XXXX-1 and SCP-XXXX-3 (and contents) are to be incinerated at the end of tests.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a storage unit with a footprint of approximately 3 square meters and a height of 2.5 meters. The outer walls of the unit are constructed of unpainted corrugated steel sheets. The door to the unit is a steel door with one doorknob and two key locks. The locks will open for any key presented to them, without regard for dimensions or material of the key. All keys used to open SCP-XXXX are to be referred to as SCP-XXXX-1. Unlocking the door to SCP-XXXX causes it to enter an active state.

When SCP-XXXX enters an active state, the doors and walls of the unit will reach 30°C by either absorbing or releasing heat energy into the most conductive material in physical contact with SCP-XXXX. Typically, the heat energy is released or absorbed from the atmosphere. The door to SCP-XXXX will open by unknown means and the object will begin to spawn entities, referred to as SCP-XXXX-2. On average, one (1) instance of SCP-XXXX-2 is spawned ever five (5) minutes. SCP-XXXX-2 are humanoids measuring approximately 1.3 meters in height. Instances of SCP-XXXX-2 disable all electronic devices within fifteen (15) meters of their position by unknown means. All electronic devices beyond fifteen (15) meters will be disrupted somewhat, but remain functional. instances of SCP-XXXX-2 appear uniformly black on any modern recording device. SCP-XXXX-2 appear uniformly metallic-grey on film. SCP-XXXX-2 appear to be composed of television static to the naked eye.

Instances of SCP-XXXX-2 will seek out any container with a key lock. When a container is found, SCP-XXXX-2 will attempt to pick up the container and return to SCP-XXXX where it will enter the unit and store the container. SCP-XXXX-2 does not appear interested in any biological life forms. If SCP-XXXX becomes full of containers, the door to the unit will close and all instances of SCP-XXXX-2 will become inactive and eventually dissolve into hydrogen gas. Between 24-63 hours after the door to SCP-XXXX closes, the unit will begin to expand until its footprint becomes 3 m X 6 m. SCP-XXXX will then open its door and expel its contents, shrinking as it does so. After this process is complete, SCP-XXXX will return to an inactive state and its door will lock.

All containers expelled by SCP-XXXX or that came into contact with an instance of SCP-XXXX-2 are referred to as SCP-XXX-3. All instances of SCP-XXXX-3 are able to be opened by any key and contain an apparently random item. All instances of SCP-XXXX-3 created during a single active state of SCP-XXXX contain identical items.

History SCP-XXXX was discovered in ██████, Florida on ██/██/20██ inside a warehouse belonging to █████████. Upon discovery of the object it was removed and transported to Site ██ for containment. It is not clear whether or not SCP-XXXX was created at the warehouse or transported there before discovery. No interrogated employee was aware of the existence of SCP-XXXX.

Test A - ██/██/20██

Test Subject: SCP-XXXX
Procedure: A standard house key was used to unlock SCP-XXXX. Four (4) pallets of plastic lock boxes were presented to instances of SCP-XXXX-2
Results: SCP-XXXX was filled with plastic lock boxes and all instance of SCP-XXXX-2 evaporated within 7 hours. 42 hours after the test began SCP-XXXX expelled instances of SCP-XXXX-3, which contained a single dead goldfish.
Notes: I've put in an order for specially made acrylic containers to present to SCP-XXXX. 100 containers should fill the entire volume of SCP-XXXX. Dr. ████████

Test B - ██/██/20██

Test Subject: SCP-XXXX
Procedure: A key whittled out of a soap bar was used to unlock SCP-XXXX. 100 of Dr. █████████'s boxes were presented to instances of SCP-XXXX-2.
Results: All instances of SCP-XXXX-2 evaporated within 1 hour. SCP-XXXX expelled instances of SCP-XXXX-3 after 29 hours. SCP-XXXX-3 contained one roll of freshly minted quarters.

Test C- ██/██/20██

Test Subject: SCP-XXXX
Procedure: A key made of silicon was used to unlock SCP-XXXX. 100 of Dr. █████████'s boxes were presented to instances of SCP-XXXX-2.
Results: All instances of SCP-XXXX-2 evaporated within 42 hours. SCP-XXXX expelled instances of SCP-XXXX-3 after 60 hours. SCP-XXXX-3 contained an unopened package of hot dogs.

Test D ██/██/20██

Test Subject: SCP-XXXX
Procedure: An attempt to unlock SCP-XXXX with a paperclip was made.
Results: SCP-XXXX was not unlocked.
Notes: Maybe the person opening SCP-XXXX needs to conceptualize the item being fitted into the lock as a key. Dr.████

Test E ██/██/20██

Test Subject: SCP-XXXX
Procedure: A hotel room key was used to open SCP XXXX and 100 of Dr. █████████'s boxes were presented to instances of SCP-XXXX-2.
Results: All instances of SCP-XXXX-2 evaporated within 20 hours. SCP-XXXX expelled instances of SCP-XXXX-3 after 33 hours. SCP-XXXX-3 contained an engraved invitation to the wedding of ████ and ███████ to take place on ██/██/20██.
Notes: The wedding is scheduled for approximately 2 months after the date of this test. Upon investigation, it appears that the invitations ordered from ██████ Printing co. 100 invitations were ordered from the company and 99 were intercepted before the set was delivered to the engaged couple. All invitations were confiscated and replacements were delivered. It should also be noted that a hotel key card was able to be inserted and turned in the locks of SCP-XXXX Dr. █████████

Test F ██/██/20██

Test Subject: SCP-XXXX
Procedure: Sodium Thiopental was used to suggest to a D-class participant that a 20 centimeter steel bar was a key. The steel bar was inserted and successfully used to open SCP-XXXX. 100 of Dr. █████████'s boxes were presented to instances of SCP-XXXX-2.
Results: The door opened without issue. All instances of SCP-XXXX-2 evaporated within 6 hours. SCP-XXXX expelled SCP-XXXX-3 after 28 hours. SCP-XXXX-3 contained a key.
Notes: The manifestation of a key in instances of SCP-XXXX-3 may indicate that SCP-XXXX is intelligent and prefers to be opened with an actual key, though it is not necessary for it's function, as long as the individual opening the object believes the item being used as a key is a key. Dr. ██████

Test G ██/██/20██

Test Subject: SCP-XXXX
Procedure: [Data Expunged]
Results: [Data Expunged]
Notes: Further testing with SCP-XXXX is to be performed exclusively with actual keys.

Test H ██/██/20██

Notes: SCP-XXXX may be limited in how specific it can be when fulfilling requests. Dr. ███

Test J ██/██/20██

Test Subject: SCP-XXXX
Procedure: [Data Expunged]
Results: [Data Expunged]
Notes: Further requests to SCP-XXXX must be authorized by at least 3 level 4 personnel.

Test X ██/██/20██

Test Subject: SCP-XXXX
Procedure: An iron church ky was used to unlock SCP-XXXX. 100 of Dr. █████████'s boxes were presented to instances of SCP-XXXX-2.
Results: The door to SCP-XXXX opened without warning after it was unlocked, knocking over the D-class participating in the test. An instance of SCP-XXX-2 was spawned and briefly made physical contact with the D-class personnel. The D-class received a lethal dose of radiation and died within 12 hours. Autopsy shows physical damage consistent with extreme radiation poisoning. A replacement D-class was required to complete the test. SCP-XXXX-2 evaporated within 9 hours. SCP-XXXX expelled its contents within 37 hours. SCP-XXXX-3 contained 2 liters of vodka.
Notes: All testing with SCP-XXXX has been suspended pending review.
