What Killed the Dinosaurs by Grrrboi

Item#: SCP-XXXX

Object class: Neutralized

Special Containment Procedures: All instances of SCP-XXXX are to be held within a large 16m by 16m chamber with a reinforced ceiling that reaches no further than 12 feet off the ground. SCP-XXXX instances are to be fed charred meat, ashes of Pinus palustris1, and bone marrow. Due to multiple security breaches in which SCP-XXXX was provided enough space to jump and gain momentum, SCP-XXXX is not to be transferred any where without O5 command Circular discs attached to SCP-XXXX's feet that are designed to halt the emission of methane.

Description: SCP-XXXX is an ancient omnivorous nomadic predator estimated to have existed since the Jurassic period. SCP-XXXX instances are bipedal with long legs, dark grey skin, and a large spike shaped shell on the head. Their average height is 10 feet weighing in at around 3300 pounds. The skeletal structure of these creatures is extremely tough, and shock absorbent. SCP-XXXX's mouth is not visible and is concealed by a flap of skin under the shell.

SCP-XXXX hunts by using special pores in it's feet. After jumping, it emits a stream of methane from the pores. Flight is achieved when the feet are ignited (though it is not known what mechanism causes ignition) and SCP-XXXX is enshrouded in flames. After reaching a sufficient height into the sky (varies depending on topography of the land), SCP-XXXX rapidly rockets down towards prey, reaching a velocity of Mach 3.0. Upon impact, SCP-XXXX causes a shock wave measured to be the equivalent of 1 kiloton of TNT or 4.184 terajoules. This can cause gross damage to structures and anything outside the radius of the explosion is still vulnerable to the flames caused after impact.

An SCP-XXXX instance in action.

SCP-XXXX instances reside in forested mountain ridges and favor hot arid climates. In early years they preyed on large prehistoric animals . The most common being the Brontosaurus2. Multiple piles of dinosaur bones have been found within abandoned SCP-XXXX dens which include pterodactyls, tyrannosauruses, and stegosauruses. It is not known exactly how many dens there are that have yet to be found. Any new archaeological discoveries with all the traits of an SCP-XXXX den are to be cleared out with the entrance sealed off via a controlled blast.
