Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: A radio is to be placed in every site near a heavily populated area and is to monitor both AM and FM frequencies at all times. When an instance of SCP-XXXX is detected, information regarding the broadcast should be related to Site-61 immediately, and the broadcast is to be recorded. Mobile Task Force Gamma-5 ("Red Herrings") then are to be deployed to the area of the broadcast. Upon arrival, Gamma-5 will attempt to prevent the event from occurring. If the occurrence of the event is inevitable, Gamma-5 are to evacuate as many people as possible and are to administer Class-A amnestics to anyone that might have directly listened to the SCP-XXXX instance.

If any information concerning any known and/or unknown SCP-XXXX instances are leaked, all evidence is to be deleted, and all viewers are to be given Class-A amnestics.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a series of broadcasts that manifest as an American Emergency Broadcast System that was used roughly ██ years ago, despite the fact that SCP-XXXX has had the attention of the Foundation for over decade earlier.

SCP-XXXX was first discovered by the Foundation on ██-██-19██ when Foundation personnel reported to have listened to an unusual emergency broadcast while tuned in to a local radio station at Site-██. The breach of SCP-████ followed soon after. The Foundation has since uncovered many audio recordings of SCP-XXXX that have dated back 30 years prior.

SCP-XXXX instances (numbered 1-███) interrupt all programs in both AM and FM frequencies 1 hour prior to any event that involves the sudden death of a child1 in the area where the event is about to take place2.

SCP-XXXX instances are usually 1-2 minutes in length and always maintain a signal strength of -40dBm. However, all attempts to track the signal have failed. Subjects listening to an SCP-XXXX instance will hear the broadcast in their native language, this happens even when listening audio recordings of the broadcast.

SCP-XXXX instances always begin with traditional American Emergency Broadcast System tones, followed by a brief description of the event that is about to take place, and how it affects children. It is unknown whether SCP-XXXX is somehow linked to the cause of these events, or if it simply reports them. This is then followed by the casualty toll of the event if it goes unprevented. All instances of SCP-XXXX that have had an unprevented event have correctly prevented the casualty toll. The voice describing these events is similar to that of a female American child who is in extreme physical distress. SCP-XXXX instances then end with a shortened version of the tones heard at the beginning of the broadcast. Other than SCP-XXXX-2█, SCP-XXXX instances has not broken this pattern (see Addendum). All subjects that have directly listened to the broadcast survive the event that takes place soon after.

Addendum:
The following is an audio recording of SCP-XXXX-8. This is one of the fist SCP-XXXX instances ever discovered be the Foundation.
