Idea 1: Spider Clock

Item # SCP-XXXX

Object Class Euclid

Special Containment Procedures SCP-XXXX-1 is to be contained in a 1mx1mx2m container, with no windows, and soundproofing. A feeding tube is to be built in on the top of the container, to 'feed' SCP-XXXX-1 once per month, with the smallest live mammal available. The container is to be stored in a 4mx4mx3m Standard Euclid Class Containment Chamber, with no lights or windows installed to prevent unauthorised observation of SCP-XXXX-1.Any instances of SCP-XXXX-2 that are found and able to be taken for testing should be immediately, to track the 'evolution' of the specimens. Any subjects showing the development of neural tissue are to be terminated instantly, and protocol SCP-XXXX-3 is to be cleansed via Procedure XXXX A. SCP-XXXX-3 is unable to be contained due to it's intangible qualities, but should be monitered routinely.

Description SCP-XXXX-1 is an ornate oak grandfather clock, the design matching those constructed in the 1760's. The wood, nor any visible components, show any anomalous properties. The face of the clock shows no abnormalities beside hinges on one side to allow the face to open. However, this face is completely resistant to any attempts to open it, and no signs of damage are found anywhere on the surface of SCP-XXXX-1, as it appears to be wholly indestructible. The hands of the clock are constructed of the bone of an unidentified organism. Any human mammalian organisms that hear or see SCP-XXXX-1's minute hand tick will experience the manifestation of a laceration on their body, typically around the base of limbs, and around 4cm in length. When exposed to the minute hand moving, the subject will experience a deep cutting wound around the same length and place as the lacerations. Exposure to an hour hand results in the removal of a limb, with a wound corresponding to a bladed weapon. Any subject observing or hearing a movement resulting in the alignment of all 3 hands will [DATA EXPUNGED]er bone s[DATA EXPUNGED]e. All wounds inflicted by SCP-XXXX-1 are unusually painful, and pain induced unconciousness will occur following around 6 to 12 lacerations, and blood also rushes towards wounds, resulting in vastly accelerated death by blood loss. Upon the event of death of a subject due to the effects of SCP-XXXX-1, the clocks face will unhinge, and 15 randomly assorted specimens of SCP-XXXX-2 will manifest, and climb out of SCP-XXXX-1's face. SCP-XXXX-2 are a collection of spiders arthropods composed entirely of assorted bone. The bone the instances are constructed out of the bones of the previously 'consumed' prey, and no original specimen has been discovered. As all instances of SCP-XXXX-2 are the same size, the density of a specimen constructed out of the bones of large prey is much larger. Each feeding session will result in the creation of only 1 instance of SCP-XXXX-2. Instances of SCP-XXXX were originally spiders, with a few variances between specimens, such as forelimbs designed for the removal of flesh from bone, or carrying tools to transport bone back inside SCP-XXXX-1, for creation of an additional specimen of SCP-XXXX-2. There are currently 521 instances of SCP-XXXX-2. In the event that SCP-XXXX-1 is not 'fed' for a period of a month, SCP-XXXX-1 will open, and release any amount of SCP-XXXX-2 in order to find food. This is to be avoided at all costs.

After D-149334 was exposed to a 3 hand alignment on the date of [REDACTED], and the resulting [DATA EXPUNGED] was taken into SCP-XXXX-1, all instances of SCP-XXXX-2 have been much more centipede like, and have possessed increasingly more muscle tissue and much more advanced 'tools', such as an eye like organ that appeared to calcify flesh, resulting in much more dense instances from then on. After sending a camera through SCP-XXXX-1 during a feeding session, is was revealed that the opening led to a jungle in [DATA EXPUNGED], covered in bony 'hives', designated SCP-XXXX-3. It has been revealed that anything that has not passed through SCP-XXXX-1 will not be able to percieve SCP-XXXX-3 through any medium other than video or pictures. At the date of [REDACTED], a specimen of SCP-XXXX-2 was discovered with strands of neural tissue. During testing, this specimen passed several sentience tests. Reclassification to Keter pending.
