Containment: In cooperation with the Russian military, an air force base was established at (redacted) in order to regulate and secure access to SCP-XXXX. A receiving station is present at the mouth of the cave containing the artifact with the purpose controlling traffic into and out of SCP-XXXX. The receiving station is also used as a preliminary research station for samples collected from SCP-XXXX-2.

Description: SCP-XXXX came to the attention of the Foundation when a pair of Russian hikers went missing in the ████████ mountain range in 19██ and reappeared 10 years later, apparently not aging more than a few days. The hikers, who were presumed dead previously, were kept in custody by the KGB until the Foundation could be contacted. After interviewing the hikers and learning the location and nature of SCP-XXXX, Foundation field agents convinced the hikers, who had been presumed dead for over 7 years, to sign a nondisclosure agreement and were entered into a witness protection program.

SCP-XXX is a (wormhole, teleporter?) held stable by large electromagnets embedded in the surrounding bedrock powered by geothermal power. SCP-XXXX itself is a slate gray cubical chamber approximately 4 meters on edge. All attempt to collect samples on the cube have failed. A circular hatch one meter across is set in the front face. This hatch utilizes a simple screw lock to secure it. The most striking feature of SCP-XXXX does not occur until the latch is closed and secured. Once the hatch is secured, the (wormhole, teleporter?), kept stable using the intense electromagnetic fields projected by the electromagnets, is made intractable by conventional matter. This interaction is momentary, not noticed by occupants. Whatever is within the chamber during the interaction is found to be in an identical chamber to that of SCP-XXXX, but on a world located approximately four light years away. This second chamber is referred to in this report as SCP-XXXX-1.
This world, known in this report as SCP-XXXX-2, is a planet of comparable size and composition of earth orbiting a red dwarf. SCP-XXXX-1 is located in a large sinkhole. Though SCP-XXXX is similar to earth, the planet appears to have been in the midst of a world-wide ice age for several million years.
