Item #: SCP-3000
Object Class: Keter
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-3000 cannot be directly contained. The Foundation will continue to search for and destroy any potential dimensional anchors between SCP-3000 and baseline reality.
Description: SCP-3000 is presently hypothesized to be either A) an alternate iteration of Earth (or an amalgamation of many such iterations) or B) an extradimensional manifestation that includes some superficial similarities to Earth (though evidence suggests the former). All information regarding SCP-3000 was recovered from data stored within an OI-T7 (Ocular Implant Type 7), formerly attached to the right eye socket of Agent Alexis Kennedy. The current status of Agent Kennedy remains unknown.
Agent Kennedy is or was a member of MTF Psi-13 ("Witch Hunters"), a highly classified joint Foundation/GOC task force created as part of Project: Sitra Achra. MTF Psi-13 is designed for the infiltration of Neo-Sarkic1 organizations and the termination of high-threat members.
As part of Project: Sitra Achra, MTF Psi-13 operatives are trained in Counter Occult Stratagems (COS) and the use of corrosive/incendiary armaments; each agent equipped with a SIG Sauer P226 modified for the use of incendiary and corrosive ammunition. Members of MTF Psi-13 have undergone a small number cybernetic augmentations which include:
- Eyes have been modified with OI-T7 (Ocular Implant Type 7), allowing the wearer to record video data which is in turn delivered to Foundation command as a live feed and stored within an internal hard-drive. The OI-T7 can be adjusted for focal length and low-light environments. The OI-T7 is also equipped with a GPS monitor.
- Part of the skull has been surgically implanted with a SCAI-T2 (Sub-Cranial Auditory Implant Type 2), allowing for audio recording which is in turn stored within a memory chip inside the OI-T7.
- Sub-dermal biotelemetric monitors for the tracking of vital signs.
TARGET: PoI-3681 (Vivian Durant-Croÿ)
DATE OF BIRTH: 08/07/1971
HEIGHT: 1.6 meters
BUILD: Petite
EYES: Blue
HAIR: Blonde
PROFILE: Vivian Durant-Croÿ was born to an unidentified mother and Cyril E. Durant, patriarch of House Durant2, at their family estate in St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana. She was publicly known as an heiress and high society celebutante with no evidence of anomalous ability or involvement. On 10/21/1996, PoI-3681 married the Hungarian national Bertók Croÿ, a CEO of Abraxas Arms and suspected Neo-Sarkicite.
PoI-3681 is currently president and CEO of the Durant-Bodfel Financial Group and is a rising figure in Neo-Sarkicism. Project: Sitra Achra has uncovered that she is slated to become the acting karcist3 of GoI-0492 ("The Order of the Crimson Star"), a Neo-Sarkic chapter primarily active in the Middle Atlantic4 region of the United States.
MISSION: The infiltration of GoI-0490 and termination of PoI-3681.
MISSION ADDENDUM 11/23/2014: Agents Daniel Cain, Alexis Kennedy, and Patrick Taylor have successfully infiltrated GoI-0490 and have been invited to PoI-3681's Z'alkun5 ceremony on 12/01/2014. Agents are to terminate PoI-3681 once given the command to do so. Operatives of MTF Psi-9 "Abyss Gazers" are to be on standby in case of escalation.
Time: 2100 |
Croÿ Manor is believed to be the primary headquarters of The Order of the Crimson Star. It is an early 20th century mansion located in a secluded and heavily forested section of Scarsdale, New York. Agents Cain, Kennedy, and Taylor are disguised as members, wearing upper class attire and masquerade masks. They are delivered to the gatehouse via a limousine driven by Agent Burroughs (also of MTF Psi-13). The gatehouse is equipped with a camera and intercom system, from which an unidentified individual spoke:
What hour is it?
Agent Cain responded:
It is the eleventh hour - the crimson star will soon reign triumphant.
The gate opens, allowing agents access to the manor grounds. The three transverse a cobblestone path, the area lit by decorative red-glass lanterns hung from trees. Agents arrive at the mansion after an elapse of approximately three minutes. Here they encounter a doorman dressed in the anachronistic black attire of a Victorian era valet, though with the unusual inclusion of a black hood (reminiscent of those associated with medieval executioners). The servant opens the door, bowing his or her head as they did so.

Croÿ Manor, exterior.
Agents enter the manor, their video feed revealing an interior composed of polished black stone and red glass lanterns similar to those previously encountered. The sound of chamber music grows increasingly audible as they approach the atrium. Paintings, tapestries, and statues decorate the atrium, including an approximately 5-meter-tall marble sculpture located at the center of the room. The sculpture depicts an entity with a leonine head and vermiform or serpentine body, which is believed to be a representation of the Demiurge, or "Yaldabaoth"6.
Voices are audible, as are moans. Lens augmentations adjust to the low-light environment, revealing an estimated 180-200 humanoid individuals - most of which appear to be mid-coitus while others lounge, converse, and observe; most are scantily clad, while others are completely nude - all wear masks composed of porcelain and gold.
The three seat themselves at a corner table and feign conversation. Servants wander the room, offering wine and hors d'oeuvres. These attendants are dressed in clothing identical to that of the doorman - valet attire (regardless of gender) and black hoods.
Time: 2205 |
Fleeting glimpses are recorded of tall (heights ranging from 2 to 2.5 meters), stationary individuals wearing hooded robes. These vaguely humanoid entities appear to serve as security, as they silently maintained watch over the manor's interior and quickly reacted to any possible disturbances (Agent Taylor would later accidentally brush against a statue, causing one of the entities to growl and hiss).
Mission Command orders Agent Cain to continue the search for PoI-3690 while Kennedy and Taylor remain at the atrium. The remaining agents begin to kiss and touch each other in an effort to blend in with the other guests. As Agent Cain explores the manor, he is able record portions of nearby conversations. Audio specialists have isolated the following dialogue:
[What appears to be the end of a conversation between two guests]
Unidentified Man: …but their blood is wrong. Diluted and weak.
Unidentified Woman: Call it diluted but even the smallest drop of the Old Blood sets them apart from the swine.
[A somewhat heated discussion between two men]
Unidentified Man 1: You defend the Old Believers? [laughs]
Unidentified Man 2: Is there something wrong with Ion's Paradise?
Unidentified Man 1: His paradise was an unfulfilled dream. Apotheosis was within reach and he threw it all away - and for what? His ideals? Some ill-conceived sense of morality? True paradise is available to those with the power to seize it. You would understand this were you capable of reaching the Third Circle.
Unidentified Man 2: Cutting words but I sense the truth behind them.
Unidentified Man 1: Don't romanticize the scriptures. Ion showed the way but his ideals are irrelevant. He failed, and such failure should be interpreted as a warning.
[A man and woman speak with a hunched, cloaked figure with pale tendrils dangling from its cowl; entity classified as PoI-5963]
Unidentified Woman: Karcist Tuuslar. Thank you for gracing us with your presence.
PoI-5963: [incomprehensible]
Unidentified Man: Ah, you must be here to enact the rites? I doubt that you've come all this way just to speak with those so far beneath you.
PoI-5963: [incomprehensible]
Unidentified Woman: Words of wisdom. Truly, it is an honor.
Time: 2230 |
Agent Cain encounters an entity with the appearance of a quadruple-amputee woman equipped with unusually long, blade-like prostheses; closer analysis of this footage suggests that the appendages are actually part of their anatomy and likely the result of corporeal modifications (Lihaaskur, or Sarkic "flesh crafting"). The subject balances on its pointed, arthropodous limbs with their hips raised off the ground and their chest facing upwards. Subject is completely nude save for a black blindfold and their skin is marked with intricate, presumably occult tattoos, as well as piercings. Classified as PoI-4201, it remains unknown why they were augmented into their current form, but their behavior and presentation suggests some manner of sexual submission.
PoI-4201 approaches Agent Cain (walking/crawling backwards on all four limbs) with their mouth agape. An unidentified female guest proceeds to wrap her arms around Agent Cain and states:
She's eager to please. Go on. Give it to her. I wish to watch.
Site Command orders Agent Cain to remain in character. He complies, allowing PoI-4201 to [EXTRANEOUS DATA REMOVED]
Agent Cain completes his interaction with PoI-4201 and the unidentified woman after an elapse of approximately 36 minutes. Mission Command orders him to continue his search for PoI-3690 but this task is interrupted by the ringing of a gong-like instrument. Guests immediately abandon their activities and proceed down a hallway located at the atrium's northeast. Mission Command orders agents to follow and rendezvous at their eventual destination.
Time: 2300 |
Video feed reveals a grand dining room containing many circular tables, as well as a long refectory table7, apparently reserved for the more prestigious guests. Agents seat themselves at an empty table and are soon joined by twelve other guests. Servants enter and proceed to serve a full course dinner. The main course resembles beef and is served with chateau potatoes. After tasting a cut of the meat, Agent Kennedy whispers the following to Agent Taylor:
Doesn't taste like steak. Almost like pork but not as fatty. More like veal but tougher. Oh God…
Mission Command reminds Kennedy to remain in character and she consumed the rest of her meal without protest.
Agents engaged in conversation with other guests. These discussions were generally banal and did not involve anomalous subject matters, though did reveal the following about those at the table, other guests, and general information regarding Neo-Sarkites:
- All were born to or married into families whose accumulated wealth and power dated back centuries.
- At least two are politicians.
- At least one owns an arms manufacturer.
- At least three are involved in the financial sector.
- At least one is a lawyer.
- The others appear to be socialites, their source of wealth unknown.
- Rape, torture, and murder were treated as casual subject matters.
- Neo-Sarkites, at least among the "Black Blood" upper-class, appear to be prone to schemes and conspiracy, frequently plotting against one another; it is rumored that PoI-3681 achieved her position following the assassination of a rival, a common tactic among Neo-Sarkites, who adhere to a sort of "social Darwinism"8.
- The gathering includes guests from other Neo-Sarkic cults, such as Adytum's Wake9, the Hunter's Black Lodge10, the Esoteric Order of the White Worm11, and the Leviathan Society12.
The gong-like instrument sounds again, causing guests to rise from their seats and return to the atrium.
Time: 2400 |
The central statue (the lion-headed serpent) is gone, revealing a hidden spiral staircase where it had once resided. Agents follow the others as they descend down the staircase; the steps appear to glisten as if damp and a red organic substance coats the stone like slime mold. The staircase connects to a subterranean structure which more closely resembles a temple than mansion's cellar. They continue through a hallway, which leads to a spherical chamber containing an empty basin. The chamber is designed much like an amphitheater, allowing the 200+ guests to comfortably occupy it. An estimated 15-20 bound and gagged men, women, and children hang upside-down above the basin, which itself contains a large, pulsating object resembling a chrysalis.
PoI-5963 ascends a raised edifice overlooking the basin and begins to chant unintelligible words. Hooded servants enter the basin armed with ornate but functional scythes13, using the instruments to tear the gags from their captives (often mutilating their faces in the process) who immediately scream or attempt to plead with their captors - none of whom respond. Using their scythes, the servants proceed to saw the captives in half midsagittally, beginning at the groin and working down to the skull. Based on video analysis, several victims were identified as known missing persons but the majority remain unidentified.
The chrysalis is bathed in blood, organs, and general viscera as the sacrifice reaches completion.
Time: 0220 |
The cultists begin to vocalize without speaking any discernible words, creating a melody similar to those produced by overtone chanting14. The chrysalis suddenly ruptures, appearing to be torn apart from the inside by sickle-like appendages. An entity rises from the mangled husk as the chanting grows louder and the video feed begins to violently distort.
Unidentified Speaker: The soul has become flesh! Arise, Karcist Sakaraal!
Based on the appearance of its humanoid head and torso, the entity is quickly identified as PoI-3690 (Vivian Durant-Croÿ). PoI-3690 stands on three arthropodous legs (two forelegs, one hind leg) and appears to be approximately 2.7 meters tall. Much of PoI-3690's body is composed of white and black chitin and it has six lepidopterous wings with black and gold markings, two raptorial arms, a pale humanoid upper body, and long blonde hair.
Mission Command orders agents to terminate PoI-3690 and PoI-5963. Agents drew their weapons and opened fire, striking PoI-5963 from behind and setting it aflame, immolating nearby hostiles. PoI-3690 appears uninjured, its carapaced arms shielding the soft tissue of its humanoid portion.
Hostiles proceed to assault Agent Taylor, who is recorded as deceased after suffering repeated stab wounds. Agents Cain and Kennedy retreat to the atrium, during which Kennedy supported Agent Cain with suppressive fire as he placed remote-controlled explosive devices throughout the stairwell, detonating them as soon as they were outside the blast radius. The resulting explosions caused much of the atrium's floor to collapse, creating a large fissure and spreading fire to the rest of the manor.
Four robed humanoids (later identified as instances of SK-BIO Type B) charge at the agents, running on all four limbs. Agent Cain fires his pistol at one of the entities, drawing the attention of the entire pack. They shed their robes as they neared Agent Cain, revealing pale naked flesh and faces (or lack thereof) dominated by toothy, vertical mouths. The four pounce on top of Agent Cain, tearing him apart as they consume him. Agent Cain is subsequently recorded as deceased.
Mobile Task Force Psi-9 ("Abyss Gazers") is ordered to storm Croÿ Manor (ETA: 0240) and neutralize the situation. Agent Kennedy is alive but the spreading fire prevents access to all prospective escape routes. The floor collapses beneath the anomalous predators, pulling them and what remained of Agent Cain into the flames below. PoI-3690 is observed rising from the rubble, climbing vertically up the walls. Agent Kennedy fires several shots at PoI-3690, wounding its shoulder and causing it to momentarily shudder.
Kennedy's video feed distorts as the walls begin to crack and apparently "bleed", forming gaping, seemingly organic wounds. Black tendrils erupt from the lower level, coiling themselves around parts of the manor's architecture and tearing it down in an apparent effort to completely obliterate the building. Agent Kennedy falls as the floor crumbles beneath her feet.
The video feed goes dark and her transmission is lost.
Time: 0250 |
All agents are declared deceased. The tendrils disappeared before the arrival of MTF Psi-9, along with Croÿ Manor itself. Only a crater is discovered at the site and no remains are ever recovered, human or otherwise.
On 08/07/2015, the Foundation began to receive the GPS coordinates of Agent Kennedy, although radio contact could not be reestablished. Agent Kennedy's signal was traced to an alleyway in the Wan Chai District of Hong Kong - over 12,000 km from where she had initially gone missing. As previously noted, only her augmented right eye was ever recovered.
Note: Video frequently suffers unexplained distortions throughout its entire 1,460 hour length. These distortions are only visible for fractions of a second and occur in 1-20 minute intervals or, on rare occasions, in rapid succession. These distortions manifest as symbols of unknown meaning. Over 80,000 symbols have been detected by video analysis software. Each instance is unique, non-repeating, and cognitohazardous to observers (triggering headaches, brain hemorrhaging, blindness, and even death).
For direct video access or complete video transcript please submit an authorization request to Dr. Ada Grzeskiewicz.
Day 01 |

A hallway observed near where Agent Kennedy regained consciousness.
Agent Kennedy's video feed is black for the first 4 hours and 28 minutes and she is presumed unconscious. She opens her eyes, revealing a dimly lit room covered in rubble (some of which is recognizable as originating from Croÿ Manor). She rises to her feet and inspects herself, appearing bloody and bruised but without serious injury.
Agent Kennedy: Command? [coughs] Command, do you read me?
Eye augmentation automatically adjusts to the low-light environment. The room appears to be composed of darkly colored stone and a creeping organic material, which have since been classified as SCP-3000-1 and found to be prevalent throughout SCP-3000. Red light is visible through cracks in the walls and ceiling; following the cracks, she eventually encounters a hallway with a similar light at its far end. She proceeds through the hallway and arrives at a courtyard after a short, though visibly difficult walk.
Kennedy stumbles and coughs, finding the area engulfed by what resembles a red dust storm. Closer analysis suggests that the 'dust' is in fact a cloud of bioluminescent spores. These spores have since been classified as SCP-3000-2 and serve as the primary source of light throughout SCP-3000.
Agent Kennedy: Does anybody read me? This is Agent Kennedy requesting evac.
Agent Kennedy retreats to the interior, seeking shelter from SCP-3000-2. She would alternate between sleep and efforts to reestablish contact with command for the next 12 hours.
Day 02 |
Agent Kennedy explores SCP-3000, stating that her objective is to locate food and water. She tears off a portion of her dress and uses it to cover her face before entering the courtyard. After wandering the courtyard for approximately 5 minutes, she reaches what appears to be the first step of a stairwell. She discards her high heel shoes (part of her original disguise) and ascends the stairs, arriving at the top of the structure after approximately 8 minutes.
From this vantage point she is able to better observe her current location, the structure where she currently stood resembling a ruined castle or temple complex. Black ziggurats are visible on the horizon and sinewy organic spires reach into the sky.
A nearby building draws her attention, resembling a windowless, dome-topped tower. The structure leans heavily towards her current residence, practically toppling into it, and several holes are present in its exterior walls. These apertures do not appear to be a natural part of the architecture and were likely caused by some manner of siege weapon, such as a catapult or cannon. Agent Kennedy successfully climbs through one of these openings, gaining access to the tower.
The interior houses hundreds of containers, including earthenware and wicker baskets. These objects are highly utilitarian, stressing function over any decorative purpose. Agent Kennedy investigates the area, finding most of the containers destroyed and empty. After an hour of searching, she successfully recovers three sealed and intact amphoras; one contains honey, while the other two contain some manner of alcoholic drink.
Day 5 |
Agent Kennedy remains at the storage tower for three days. After having salvaged everything of value, she exits the building and proceeds to wander, stating her intention to escape [SCP-3000].
Agent Kennedy: None of you can hear me, can you? But everything I see is being recorded. If I get out of here… yeah. Maybe. Maybe we can get something out of this. The others are dead. I'm sure of it. Taylor never made it out of the basement. And Cain… Jesus fucking Christ.
I don't know what to make of this place. The air tastes of rust, or blood - hard to say. It burns. My skin. Look at what its done to my skin.
She holds out her left arm, revealing a number of red lesions.
Agent Kennedy: If I can find food, maybe I can find some medical supplies as well. No idea where I'm going. Find something that looks like a hospital? Yeah. Maybe that. Christ, what the fuck is this place? Stay calm. Stay focused. Stay calm…
Day 9 |
Agent Kennedy: I haven't seen anyone. Lifeless, but not? The ground is alive, the walls are alive. The place is crawling with flesh.
I hear things. Whispers. They speak to me in a language I don't understand. And I swear to God I've seen people in the corruption [SCP-3000-1] - faces contorted with agony, hands reaching out in desperation. But by the time I get any closer, they're gone. This place will play tricks on you. Got to stay focused…
The wind howls and Agent Kennedy looks up at the SCP-3000-2 dominated sky.
It moves unnaturally. Can you see it? It hurts just to look. Maybe this whole place is just one big hallucination. Maybe I'm strapped to a gurney - are they trying to wake me? Dissect me?
Agent Kennedy alternates between weeping and laughter.
Day 12 |
Agent Kennedy explores another dilapidated ruin, finding a room containing a primitive stove, a man-sized cauldron, and several earthenware containers. She recovers another jar of honey but the rest is rotten, disintegrated, or consumed by SCP-3000-1. She climbs to the second floor, encountering a large room evidently designed for communal living. There appears to be nothing of interest and she continues up the stairs.
The third floor resembles a library and contains a large number of tomes and scrolls. A seated figure is observed at the far end of the room, holding an unfurled scroll over a stone table. Kennedy slowly approaches with her pistol raised. The figure is revealed to be a full suit of Hellenic-looking bronze armor, posed as if reading. The armor is empty and the facemask displays unusual damage, as if violently opened from the interior.
Agent Kennedy: Jesus Christ, that scared me. Hollow inside. Not even bones. I wonder who they were?
Also on the table is a bronze sword, presumably belonging to whoever owned the armor. Kennedy picks up the blade but appears to notice a trail of organic material connecting the armor to a mass of SCP-3000-1.
Agent Kennedy: Oh God.
She backs away from the armor and quickly exits the building, evidently disturbed by a conjectured implication.
Day 15 |

One of the various ruins observed within SCP-3000.
Agent Kennedy observes a group of humanoid figures from the window of a dilapidated office complex. These unknown individuals are gathered in a circle with their arms held high, surrounding a symbol that has been carved into the organic floor. They appear to be chanting but their voices are muffled by distance and wind.
She enhances her vision, revealing the ritualists in greater detail. They appear to be dressed in finely tailored upper-class attire, though their faces are chimeric, displaying cephalopodic, cervine, insectoid, and other non-human features. Their ritual continues for an hour, culminating in a fissure appearing in the ground. A large, vaguely humanoid entity is extravasated from the crevasse. The organism appears to be curled in a fetal position and covered in blood and/or other fluids, much like a newborn. The entity trembles for several minutes and then begins to rise to its full height; though precise measurements cannot be obtained, the entity appears to be between 2.5 and 3 meters tall.
The ritualists raise their arms in unison and disappear in a flash of light, along with their creation. The video suffers severe distortion as Agent Kennedy appears to suffer an epileptic seizure, despite having no history of the condition.
Day 17 |
Agent Kennedy approaches what initially appears to be a body of water but whose contents are yellow, viscous, and according to Kennedy, "reek of stomach acid". Unidentified crocodilian organisms lurk near the shores of the toxic lake, sporting six limbs, gray skin, black manes, and skeletal-looking heads.
Kennedy sneaks past the creatures and escapes into a nearby ruin. The building was likely originally used by a healer or apothecary, as it contains a number of dried herbs, a mortar and pestle, and a large supply of bandages - likely belonging to a healer or apothecary. She removes her clothes, revealing the severity of her skin damage (hypothesized to be a reaction to SCP-3000-2) which she proceeds to bandage, eventually wrapping the entirety of her body save for her eyes.
She continues to explore the ruin, finding evidence that it may have once served as a temple. Various statues, thought to represent deities, show signs of being intentionally defaced.
Agent Kennedy: Someone sure hates the gods. Can't say I blame them.
Day 25 |

An overgrowth of SCP-3000-1 consuming a ruin.
Agent Kennedy has turned the former temple into a refuge, periodically venturing outside only to scavenge for food. As her supplies start to dwindle, she attempts to harvest SCP-3000-1 as a possible food source. Little of the flesh is edible, as it contains a great deal of bone, cartilage, and human teeth. What she has consumed has caused her to suffer fever and vomiting, which in turn required significant rest.
Despite her initial reactions, she continues to consume the flesh and appears to be slowly adapting to her new food source. She has also begun to cough with significantly reduced frequency, implying a growing adaptation to her environment.
Agent Kennedy begins to report of unusual dreams, correlating with her consumption of SCP-3000-1 (though, the two may be unrelated).
It started out as night terrors - an ill defined sort of dread. There was pain, confusion… but no real narrative.
But a narrative is starting to form. This place will play tricks on your mind. Anyone would have nightmares sleeping in a land like this. But these are different…
It feels like the dream belongs to someone else. There I am a shepherd, tending to my flock. I try to protect them. There are predators out there but I can't save them that from these threats - I'm just not strong enough. I have to find a way. I gave them medicine - made them stronger, but… but something is wrong. They're sick. So am I. Sick but strong. So strong…
But we keep drinking this false cure. We can't stop. We need it now. We're so hungry. So addicted.
The hunger won't stop. It's like we were doomed from the start.
In order to preserve bullets, Kennedy fashions a spear from the bronze sword recovered on Day 12 and an ornamental staff found within the disused temple.
Day 32 |
Agent Kennedy relates another dream, soon after waking:
I've had more dreams. Dreams that don't belong to me. I wake up, feeling like a thief. Like I've actually stolen something precious.
There was an old man. His skin was dark but his face was white with the ashes of his ancestors. His nails were long, having never known physical labor. I stood at his side. I was so small and his shadow seemed to stretch on and on in the flickering torchlight.
He held an unfurled scroll. Though he had no eyes, he read it all from memory. Such was is duty. The symbols were unfamiliar to me but I knew that in time, I would know them well.
He was teaching me how to read.
And in a flash, I saw his future. I saw his lifeless body, skewered among criminals. There were hundreds of them, forming a forest of impalement. Carrion birds darkened the sky.
And I knew that he saw this future as well. And despite that knowledge, he still chose to teach me.
What did he see in me?
Day 35 |

Humanoid denizens of SCP-3000.
Agent Kennedy watches from the roof of the temple, scouting the surrounding environs for food or threats. She focuses on a fire in the distance and magnifies her augmented vision to investigate. Three humanoid entities have gathered around the conflagration. They wear tattered robes and carry primitive weapons, such as spears and clubs. The fire appears to be the product of a gaseous vent rather than an artificial creation.
Agent Kennedy: I wonder if they were ever human?
There is visible movement in the distance and it is soon apparent that there are several hundred, making them possibly a nomadic tribe native to the land. The SCP-3000-2 that normally dominates the sky suddenly breaks, revealing an enormous eye whose pupil appears to be transfixed on her location. She turns back to the humanoids, who have apparently taking this as a sign and have begun to migrate towards the temple.
Agent Kennedy gathers her supplies and proceeds to climb down the outer walls of the temple, fleeing in the opposite direction of the humanoids. She looked back after an hour of running - the eye remained and continued to focus on her location. She would not look in its direction again until several days later.
Day 39 |
Agent Kennedy travels south, eventually entering an environment distinct from the rest. The area is black and gray, lacking the red coloration that encompasses so much of SCP-3000.
Oh god, the smell! Fuck! [Kennedy audibly chokes and gags]
She vomits. The ground is soft and wet, having the apparent consistency of a mudflat. It is believed that the ground is composed of decaying SCP-3000-1, explaining the noxious odor encountered by Kennedy. She is increasingly ensnared by the necrotic tissue, sinking deeper as she struggles to free herself. The liquefying gray matter begins to bubble and is followed by a guttural noise as the ground ruptures beneath her feet, revealing a darkened hollow formed by decay.
Agent Kennedy collides with the floor, her impact cushioned by rot. She vomits again and loses consciousness.
Day 42 |
Agent Kennedy awakens, her video feed revealing what appears to be the interior of an intelligently designed structure - possibly some kind of hive. The constructive material displays a whitish yellow coloration and has a smooth, hard surface. Though clearly organic in nature, it does not appear to be composed of living tissue.
Agent Kennedy: Is someone here?
There is no response. She rises to her feet and proceeds to explore her new surroundings. There is evidence of habitation, including books and scrolls of abnormally large size. She unfurls one of the scrolls and looks through it.
Agent Kennedy: Sarkic symbols. But I have no idea what they mean.
The symbols resemble the Old Adytite script but appear somewhat divergent; it is theorized that they represent a closely related language or an intentionally encrypted text, perhaps requiring the use of a cipher.
Agent Kennedy investigates the structure, whose high ceilings and furnishings imply that it was created for an abnormally large occupant. She continued to explore, discovering hundreds of rooms and winding hallways. The structure is designed much like a labyrinth and lacks any obvious means of exit.
Day 43 |
Agent Kennedy awakens and immediately addresses the Foundation:
Agent Kennedy: More dreams. [Laughs] Here I am talking about dreams, all the while I'm still trapped in this meat hell.
I wouldn't bring them up if I didn't think they were important. I was never much of a dreamer.
But these last few have just been a little too close to real.
I remember a high priestess whom even emperors have served.
I remember the sacrificial spires from which blood would always flow.
I remember the gods and their ceaseless whispering.
I remember a slave who would spark rebellion, who would drink from the ichor of a dying avatar.
I remember a tormented scholar redeemed; a broken warrior unbound; a tyrant turned lover; a servant reborn through revenge.
It all sounds so crazy. The cultists we hunt are wrong. I've got no doubts about that.
But hidden beneath their perverse interpretations and twisted ambition, somewhere among the oldest of their myths, is something true.
Day 45 |
Day 54 |
Agent Kennedy advances through the ruins of an ancient city. She describes the location as familiar but admits that she had never seen its like before. Black pyramids and ruined skyscrapers are visible in the distance, along with swaying tentacles of similar height.
Emaciated humanoids are observed; some sit, some stand, but all are motionless. She approaches one of them, carefully studying its appearance. The entity has taut brown skin marked by a number of tattoos. It wears golden bangles and necklaces but is otherwise nude save for the tattered yellow silk that covers its head and shoulders.
Agent Kennedy: What are you?
The entity does not react. Kennedy proceeds to prod it with her spear, breaking the skin but failing to elicit a response. Kennedy begins to walk away; after a few steps, she appears to hear a sound that the audio fails to register. She begins to speak, as if responding to an unseen companion:
No, I've never heard of it. What doom came to this place?
[after a period of silence] I… I don't want to think about that.
Yes. That is for the best. Thank you.
Day 58 |
Agent Kennedy encounters ruins that appear to be designed by and for non-humanoid denizens. The structures lack ground-floor entrances and are completely devoid of stairs, implying a species capable of either flight, levitation, or some manner of teleportation.
Agent Kennedy continues to converse with an unseen and presumably hallucinatory entity:
Entire worlds. Entire timelines.
The graveyard of reality.
Why fight this? If this is the end…
Agent Kennedy continues to wander the ruins, hunting and consuming the native fauna that dwell among its ancient edifices. She approaches the edge of a cliff, the video feed revealing a landscape of tormented faces and malformed fetuses the size of mountains. She sits down, dangling her legs over the edge, and stares at the colossal aberrations for hours.
Day 61 |
Video feed begins but Agent Kennedy says nothing. She touches her face, then the ground. She rises to her feet and exits the ruins she had been using for shelter. Her movement is awkward, possibly indicating that the subject is sleep-walking. She kneels and proceeds to place both hands on the organic floor. Her body trembles violently as the surface is torn open, erupting blood or some other organic liquid.
Kennedy crawls down the fissure and into a mucus coated tunnel. She travels for over eight hours before falling back to sleep. How she was able to create this fissure remains unknown.
Day 62 |
Agent Kennedy awakens confused, unaware of how she arrived at her present location. She begins to speak but does not address the Foundation.
Into the bowels? But…
For how long? Your voice! Yes, I hear you so much clearer now. Yes. How did you know? I would ask for privacy but… Yes. I see through your eyes as well.
Or eyes that were. These are memories, aren't they? Your memories. You were human once…
Yes. Show me.
Agent Kennedy holds out her hand, which bursts into a number of writhing tentacles before returning to its original shape.
Am I Sarkic?
Then what am I?
Video feed is disabled, likely an intentional act by Agent Kennedy.
Day 65 |
Video feed returns, though Agent Kennedy appears to be in a lightless environment.
You are the only reason I'm still alive, aren't you?
Then I owe you my life.
That… that is kind of you to say.
I know who you were.
No. I don't hate you. My people have made similar mistakes in the name of the greater good.
But how do we end it?
Day 68 |
Agent Kennedy stands above a hole. Although located in an artificial stone structure, the hole resembles a deep, infected wound similar to those encountered during the destruction of Croÿ Manor.
The whispers - I think they are trying to help me. I have followed its directions. This… this is a way home. I miss my world. I miss my family and friends. The information I have… maybe it will help? Yes. It must.
But I've changed so much. This place has become a part of me. If I came back, I would be caged, dissected… I understand protocol and would not hold it against any of you.
Nor do I trust myself. I do not wish to bring that threat to my world.
[She places a hand over her eye and grunts in pain until the augmentation is pulled from her orbital socket; she turns the eye to face her - her other eye is yellow and her bloodstained bandages fail to hide the unusual growths which have formed all over her body] Take this. See what I've seen.
Maybe one day we'll meet again beneath rose colored skies.
The video feed ends.
