Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a Standard Object Containment Locker (Medium) at Site 22 when not being tested.

Following test XXXX-008, testing involving Class-D subjects who are smokers is only to take place with level 3 authorisation. Testing involving any other subjects who are smokers is prohibited under all circumstances.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a standard queen sized bed with spring mattress, both manufactured by ██████. The object shows no unusual physical properties.

Two entities have been identified by test subjects. The first, designated SCP-XXXX-1, is the voice of a girl estimated to be between 4 and 7 years old, The second, SCP-XXXX-2, is the voice of a boy aged between 10 and 12 years old.

SCP-XXXX only becomes active when a human attempts to sleep in the bed where the sleep period passes midnight on any given night. The subject is then 'locked in' to a highly disturbed pattern of sleeping and waking which only concludes at 06:44.

The nature of the sleep disturbances varies from subject to subject, but an individual subject always undergoes the same cycle from the initial shock to the final crisis in a repeating pattern. Some features remain identical no matter the subject.

  • Each cycle is 3 hours and 21 minutes long. If there is insufficient time before 06:44 to complete a full cycle, a partial cycle will occur but be interrupted.
  • The subject will not be able to leave SCP-XXXX at any point. Attempts to wake the subject while they are in a sleep stage have been unsuccessful. Attempts to remove the subject from SCP-XXXX can result in [REDACTED] and must not be attempted.
  • During the locked-in period, the subject will perceive its surroundings as being a darkened bedroom consistent with the master bedroom at [REDACTED] in general layout (referred to herein as SCP-XXXX-003). This is independent of the room or lighting levels the testing is taking place in.
  • The subject will always be woken by the sound of loud banging at 06:44.

Please see Testing Log Series XXXX-001 to -012 below for further details. No sounds originating from SCP-XXXX-001 or SCP-XXXX-002 have been identified, but vocalisations from subjects can be heard.
