Upon a subject entering SCP-2379 and turning one of its knobs to activate it, the subject will begin to experience an unusual amount of pleasure. Following a time of roughly two to three minutes, it will become clear that the subject has reached a level of heightened understanding, usually characterized by a chuckling or laughing. The subject will be inclined to shower for a time of 15 minutes before leaving. After exposure, the subject will appear to be unusually energetic, usually speaking about ‘Discovering it,’ or, ’It all makes sense!’ Following a time of roughly fifteen minutes, the subject will become extremely lethargic, attempting to find the nearest place to sleep. Upon awakening, they will have forgotten what they had learned from their experience with SCP-2379 and return to a normal state, though they will have emotions of happiness regarding SCP-2379, and will possess the urge to re-enter it. No long-term effects have been observed, though frequent use of SCP-2379 may result in the body deteriorating due to neglect.

SCP-2379 was recovered after a man had been reported missing in ████, Illinois. Law enforcement arrived to discover his corpse in a bathtub, with the shower head turned on. One officer reported driving the other officer to his own home following his accidental exposure to SCP-2379. Local agents ███ and █████ responded, discovering SCP-2379 while also detaining the subjected officer and administering class-D amnestics to the other. Subject was released one week later after close observation and the application of class-C amnestics. SCP-2379 was kept on site, though further testing lead to the deconstruction, movement, and reconstruction on Site-06-3.

Interview Log #1 - Initial Interaction with first living subject upon awakening.

Dr. L████: Are you awake?

Subject: [Subject blinks, yawning] ..hm?

Dr. L████: Hm?

Subject: Where am I?

Dr. L████: Do you remember what happened to you three days ago?

Subject: Three days..? Was I out that long? Christ.. Yeah, I do.

Dr. L████: What is it that you remember?

Subject: Me and Dan were checking out a guy’s house, he’d gone missing. He was dead in the tub, dead or just blacked out. He left the shower on. I tried shaking him, but it drenched me a bit.. Jeez, that was great. The man must’ve died peacefully in there. I’d love to go again if I could?

Dr. L████: What exactly was great?

Subject: The shower. Man, I could’ve stayed in there forever if Dan hadn’t pulled me out. It felt like I just, you know, had everything figured out. Not anymore.. I miss it.

Subject was monitored for four days before being released after being administered Class-C amnestics.

Document #2379-1

Dr. T█████,

Test regarding SCP-2379 have gone successfully thus far, though I believe it would be in our best interest if we would be able to discern exactly what it is that makes it work. Although it’s risky to waste something with so much practical use, we might be able to relocate it to a site in order to decrease the risk of discovery and increase efficiency.
