Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object class: Keter

Special Containment Procedures: Containment of SCP-XXXX is focused on locating and containing SCP-XXXX-1 and SCP-XXXX-A instances, as well as preventing new SCP-XXXX-1 and SCP-XXXX-A instances from being created. Confirmed SCP-XXXX-1 instances are to be covertly captured by MTF Eta-10 (“See no evil”) and administered class A amnestics immediately, followed by remote observation for two weeks. Any individual who retains SCP-XXXX after amnestic treatment are to be terminated immediately. Any Foundation personnel who work with SCP-XXXX must be remotely observed for signs of SCP-XXXX infection for two weeks after reassignment. If any major world leaders or people of national/global influence are confirmed to be SCP-XXXX-1 instances, they must be captured as soon as possible. MTF Chi-4 (“Reading enthusiasts”) are to monitor the media for SCP-XXXX-2 and SCP-XXXX-B instances, and take them down and track down the author. In the event of a confirmed SCP-XXXX-A instance, overwatch command is to be informed immediately, and MTF Eta-10 is to be scrambled immediately, what actions are taken next will be decided on a case by case basis by the 05 council. If thirty minutes pass after the scramble order has been given and no orders have been received from overwatch command, the SCP-XXXX-A instance is to be terminated immediately at the task force leader’s discretion.

Description: SCP-XXXX is an infohazardous effect which spreads from person to person (infected individuals hereby referred to as SCP-XXXX-1) via text written by SCP-XXXX-1 instances. SCP-XXXX-1 and SCP-XXXX-A instances will have a strong desire to spread the knowledge of the existence and nature of anomalies, as well as organizations relating to such. SCP-XXXX-1 and SCP-XXXX-A instances will also gain knowledge of random anomalies and organizations relating to them via anomalous means. When a sapient individual reads a text written by an SCP-XXXX-1 instance that has any information on the existence of anomalies (text is referred to as SCP-XXXX-2), at a random point in reading the document, the reader will become an SCP-XXXX-1 instance. In approximately 0.█ of cases, individuals infected by SCP-XXXX-2, SCP-XXXX-A, or SCP-XXXX-B instances will become a SCP-XXXX-A instance. Any individual who hears an SCP-XXXX-A instance speak about anomalies and can understand what they are saying will become a SCP-XXXX-1 instance. This effect caries over to audio recordings (hereby referred to as SCP-XXXX-B).

Addendum 1 : Acquisition report
SCP-XXXX was first brought to the Foundation’s attention when a student at [REDACTED] university submitted a research paper which showed detailed information on SCP-████, SCP-███, and the location, layout, inner workings, and [DATA EXPUNGED] of site 19. When several other students submitted similar reports, local authorities contacted the NSA, who contacted the Foundation. After a Foundation investigation, the anomalous nature of the incident was discovered, and it was determined that the university was the epicenter of SCP-XXXX, starting with a seminar given by professor █████ █ ████ on theoretical physics. However, midway through the seminar, █████ moved his topic slightly to the theoretical possibility of anomalies. At first this seemed to be harmless speculation, however, this was disproved when █████ said, "If you look at the math, and you know how to work it, you'll see that this just has to be true! But don't take my word for it, there are people who know all about it! They are destroying what could be years of discovery carelessly! They are afraid of the anomalous, and so destroy them and cover up the proof!. After questioning which was conducted via morse code to prevent SCP-XXXX spread, █████ was designated SCP-XXXX-A-1 and subsequently terminated. The GOC was informed of the situation and denied they had any connection to █████.

Addendum 2: It is believed that this document may be a SCP-XXXX-2 instance. Due to the nature of SCP-XXXX, the closer one gets to the end of a SCP-XXXX-2 instance, the chances of becoming a SCP-XXXX-1 instance increase dramatically, with infection being guaranteed for someone who reads the full text. If you continue reading past this point, you will be infected. Stop reading. It’s in your best interest to stop reading now. Do not click on the collapsible below.
