Item #: SCP-3XXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-3XXX should be stored in a room of 10 square meters, with a ceiling height congruent to the rest of the facility. SCP-3XXX should be placed on a square table in the approximate center of this room. Security are to monitor this room via CCTV cameras placed in each corner. The door to the containment chamber must be an airlock consisting of three (3) reinforced steel doors, which may only be opened by security personnel or via manual override in case of emergency. There must be no means to open the door from within the chamber. Nothing resembling a control panel may be placed in the chamber.

Description: SCP-3XXX is a 9mm handgun of what appears to be ███ █████ make, however no manufacturer's information is present anywhere on the weapon. SCP-3XXX's anomalous properties manifest when it has not been fired at a human within the last month of its last use. If this condition is met, SCP-3XXX will activate and perform event SCP-3XXX-A, which entails:

  • SCP-3XXX will lift itself ~1 meter off the ground.
  • If unloaded, bullets will manifest in the chamber.
  • SCP-3XXX will then fire ~3 times in succession at the nearest human.
  • Repeat previous step.

This will continue until SCP-3XXX is taken by a human and fired at another human. Note that it is not required that these two be different entities, self-terminating via SCP-3XXX counts as a use. Once this has happened, SCP-3XXX will become inert and will remain so until exactly 30 days afterward, when, if it has not been used since, it will repeat event SCP-3XXX-A. SCP-3XXX cannot open doors unless it perceives there are controls, in which case it will fire at what it perceives to be door controls and the door will open, regardless of whether the object shot was actually the door's control panel.

SCP-3XXX was recovered in ██████, Michigan on ██/██/2013 when a hunting store was reported to have been robbed at gunpoint by the gun itself. A containment team was dispatched and the item was recovered with █ casualties. Class-B amnestics were administered to all non-Foundation personnel involved.
